Hello everyone, Welcome back to a new episode of the Poker Go Podcast. My name is Donnie Peters. It is Sunday, July nineteenth, ten, twenty nine pm on the Clock. Has some things to put a bow on here for the twenty twenty six World Series of Poker. First up, we're going to talk about the final event that did wrap up. That means that all events other than the WSLP main event are complete, ninety nine gold bracelets in the books, and we still of course have the biggest one of them all to be decided coming up in early August. I want to touch on who is leading the WSP Player of the Year race Right now with everything wrapped up and no real implications that are going to come out of the WSP event final table, we're able to look at the leaderboard see where players stand. And then the next big thing, of course, the big finale to the ws appoy race will be DIVISIB Paradise down in the Bahamas in December. Also got to touch on twenty five K Fantasy. Let you guys know who won if you haven't seen it already, we'll be talking about that. I'll kind of quickly run through some of the teams and my thoughts on the big fantasy leagues, and then we'll get up on out of here. Yeah, it's gonna be a fun little show. Probably not too long, but you know, you know how that is every time I say that, I end up going for much longer than I anticipated. First up, we got to talk on this one K Super Turbo, the final event, Event number one hundred at the twenty twenty six World Series of Poker, Shi Wong tops a field of sixteen hundred and ninety nine entries to claim his first bracelet and two hundred and sixteen thousand dollars. Wong was very, very happy to get this one. He said, I've been waiting for this for a long time. I'm so happy, and I'm happy I had my friends here to support me. That quote was given to Poker News in their recap. Wong defeated Ryuta Nikai in heads up play, Nikai taking home one hundred and forty four thousand dollars for him. Nikai is a twenty five K Fantasy player. But this result, I believe, if my memory serves me correctly, did not impact the final standings in terms of who cashed. Sarah probably had some some you know, shaken out to do as it relates to the side bets that are made during the whole thing, but you know, it did not impact the people who cashed in twenty five K Fantasy. Dmit you your Banovich. He won his bracelet, his first bracelet earlier this summer. Here he is getting third place here for one hundred and four thousand dollars. So another nice little score for Erbanovich. You know, he's We've talked about it before, but I'll just mention it again. He had that one year when he was like, I'm gonna win three bracelets bet against me, and uh yeah, he did not win three bracelets, but he has had a successful summer in twenty twenty six. I also see at this final table Nick Unis, John woo Lee as well units, got seventh for thirty one K, lee eighth for twenty four K as it pertains too Long the winner of this one K super Turbo event. He finished thirteenth in the WSIP Monster Stack earlier this summer for ninety three thousand dollars, and then previously he had a big run back in in twenty twenty one in an eight hundred dollars deep stack event at the series. He took sixth in that one, turning the eight hundred dollars into forty thousand dollars. So congratulations too Long winning the final bracelet of the Heart of the Summer, I guess because we still got the main event to come in in a couple of weeks. But that wraps up all the bracelet events, all the stuff that we didn't hit on. I know in the last episode, this event was still running while I was recording. Now, let's shift things over to the WSP Player of the Year race, where it is Sean Deep up on top. At least that is perwsop dot com, the official website of the World Series of Poker, and that's where I navigate to the Player of the Year section and I find that Sean Deep has three thousand, four hundred and ten points. I actually thought, or at least that was under the impression that Nihoa Kihara, with his finish in the twenty five k horse, had done enough to move into first place for the Player of the ear race, but that doesn't look to be the case. He is twenty two points short of Sean deeb Naoa Kihara does sit in second with three thy three hundred and eighty eight points, so thirty four to ten for deep in first. Kihar has got thirty three eighty eight. Alex Foxen isn't too far behind. He's just seven points behind Kihara. He's got thirty three eighty one. Then there's a little bit of a bigger drop off justin Loberto. It's I mean, it's not the biggest drop off, but justin Liberto twenty eight twenty eight in fourth place, you've got josh Aria in fifth. Daniel Legrand who is in the mix. He of course won the one hundred k PLO high Roller among several other deep runs at the twenty twenty six Doubsip, but he's in sixth place. Jesse Lonus is in seventh, Elis Parson in in eighth Texas, Mike Michael Manchek is in ninth, and then Josh Reichard is in tenth. There's there's plenty of other players, you know, within the top fifteen, the top twenty, the top twenty five. You know, you've got Benny Glauser is in eleventh, Nick Shulman's in twelfth, Calvin Anderson's thirteenth, you know, just kind of scrolling a little bit further down, Chris Brewer nineteenth, just ahead of him, Michael mcsrocky in eighteenth. You got Archur march Rosian's doing well, Sean Winters in twenty fifth. So a lot of big, big names that are highly likely to head down to the Bahamas for w SIP Paradise and blast away. If I was handicapping this thing right now, I'm gonna say that and listen, it's a little bit unknown because we don't know what the WSIP Paradise schedule is. But because Alex Foxen is so close to Sean deeb, he's only twenty nine points behind, I'm gonna make Alex Foxen the favorite because I think when it comes to a lot of the really really high buy and stuff that tends to make up the bulk of the A Paradise schedule. I'm gonna put fox in slightly ahead of DEEB in that regard. Now, if they do have one of those eight game events or ten game events or whatever that they had, I think Eric Wasserson won that last year, maybe the year before, I can't remember exactly, But if they have one of those again, then then maybe that kind of evens things out for DEEB. And I do feel like I'm kind of just throwing Niaoikihara to the side here and listen, maybe I am, But again, we don't know what they're gonna do with the WSIP Paradise schedule. If they keep it in line with what they've done in the past, which is a lot of really big buy and stuff, if they partner with Triton again, you know, all that sort of high stakes poker that's going to be played, I have to imagine Alex Foxon is the one that's going to excel in that sort of format. You know, he's the one who again if if Triton is involved, and even if Tridon isn't is a involved, but they still have those type of events. You know, fifty K's hundred k's a two hundred and fifty k, whatever the heck. It is the types of players that frequent those fields. Those are the players that Alex Foxen regularly battles with and regularly has a ton of success against. Like Alex Foxen is one of the best to ever do it right, Deeb maybe he doesn't play as big for example, if they have a two hundred and fifty k like, maybe he skips that event. Maybe Deeb is a little bit more I mean, for lack of a better term, fish out of water when it comes to playing with those types of players. I mean, yes, Deeb is an incredible player, and he can certainly hold his own, but is he a little bit more less familiar with some of his opponents across the table where Alex Foxen is very familiar with them? You know, I'm gonna say Alex Foxen is probably the more familiar one in that sort of community that's playing these events. And then with Kihara, I mean, I don't know if he's really going to be able to go hard at Paradise. You know, he's he's more of a mixed game special who I would say it's probably mixed games for him, then Plo slightly ahead of Nola at hold him. Maybe I have that second part wrong, but mixed games for sure, he's like his fancy. So are they gonna have a lot of stuff like that that Kihara can play, or at least that that favors him down at Paradise judging by the past schedules that we've seen at Paradise. I'm gonna say no. I mean, of course that could change, but so I'm gonna say that I just don't know about him. And then listen, I don't think you can throw out somebody like Daniel mcgrono in sixth place, Jesse Lonis in seventh place, because if if those top guys, the Deeps, the Kiharas, the Fox, and if they just have duds when it comes to WSP Paradise, we know and Grand is going to be there firing every single thing. He's already said he's going to be there firing everything. We know. Jesse Lonis is also going to be there firing everything. So those guys, I think you got to put in the conversation, same with you know, eighth place, Elis Parson in ninth place, Michael, you know right, like, they're going to be blasting, blasting, blasting, So it's going to be very interesting. It's gonna be a very exciting race right till the end, and it's gonna all come down to what happens at Paradise. I think I briefly mentioned it last week. There was some social media chatter about, you know, how the WSP Player of the EURA should end. I think it should end with the series in the summer, the WSOP the flagship series under this brand. I think that's just a really fitting way to end it. I think you kick it off with Paradise, that would be great. Then you do Europe, then you do the WSP stuff also, like then you can award these packages for WSP Paradise for that then December, and then you know, hopefully all those people that are in this race they go there and they kind of kickstart their next go at. The WSP Player of the Era's right, So I think that that would be a better way to do it. Also, I feel like making a I think the WASP did a really good thing. When are putting all this money behind it this year for the first time, they're really awarding a ton of prizes, The formula seems like it's the best it's ever been. I think there's been a lot of chatter, you know, with is the formula perfect? I mean no, but is any formula going to be perfect? Probably not, But this is the best THEWSP Player of the Race has ever been, both from the outside looking in and then from also from what you can gather from a lot of the players in the race. You know, they love the prizes, they like the scoring, like you know, all that sort of stuff. But would you want to end that like and like for example, like maybe you know the person who it is because the WACIP Actually it's a win win now that I think about it. So if you do for next year, if you did the delay of the final table again where it's off for a couple of weeks, they're going to be coming back in August and playing it. You're gonna either be able to a award and celebrate the WACIP Player of the Year during the final table. You can make a whole thing of it. You can tell you know, the crew at Omaha Productions at at ESPN to hey, we want to make this a thing. We want to work it into the show. We want to award this player with that prize on the biggest stage, you know, so they're going to break of the Final table or whatever it is. Maybe you do it like entering day two of the Final table play and you award that honor, right, you give a trophy the whole thing. I think that would be really cool also now, because there are a lot of points that are up for grabs in the WSIP main event itself. I think this year it's nineteen hundred and ninety maybe slightly more than that are up for grabs for first place in the DOUBSIP main event. Now, I don't think that that factors into any of the nine players who have made it this year, but in the chance that it does in future years, that's a great additional storyline that you can really harp on, like, oh my gosh, this guy needs second place or better to be able to overtake Player of the Year. It's coming down to the death. That sort of sweat would be super cool, right, And maybe you I mean, if you really want to get crazy, maybe you get the person who's like currently up on top to either come out to the Final table and watch or do it like NFL draft or something and send a crew to their house and have that person like bring in the sweatcamp like that would be dope, right, So I would really like for that to happen and you get to celebrate the WASP Player of the Year, which I think that they've made a lot of headway in celebrating this award, more so than it has been in any other year in the past. But let's then really do it by bringing it to Vegas, and that's where it ends, right. It kicks off in Paradise and then it ends in Vegas and that that's, in my opinion, the way to go about it, the best way to do it. So we'll see if that change comes. I know there has been some chatter online and then you know we have seen the WSP obviously they've understand this stuff that they hear it, they see it, then you know they'll they'll take internally, they'll discuss it and they'll go from there and we'll see. But as things stand right now now, Sean deeb is up on top. He's trying to make it too in a row for the WSP Player of the Year title three all time if he can do it. But a very hotly contested race here deeb up on top, Kihara and second foxin in third. Twenty nine points separate those three players at the top of the leaderboard and plenty big guns and big names still in the mix. A race that has been settled is the twenty five K Fantasy League for the twenty twenty six WSOP season, and it is the one the only Daniel Legranu winning his own fantasy league. He had thirteen hundred and thirty seven points clear by about one seventy or so ahead of David Baker's team. Shout out ODB Let's go Buddy. Baker's team was Team Banana, finishing in second. Nigron New's team first of all, so i'll tell you his team josh Aria Dan and mcgrannu, Nick Papillo, Bryn Kenny dong Chen, Jason Kuhn, Ellie Lezra, and Ben Lamb. Out of those eight players, it's wild that Nigraney won this thing with one player scoring zero, and that was Ben Lamb. Now I don't know, I mean, I'm guessing he just had some misinformation because I was in the draft room and I'm pretty sure everyone was aware that Ben Lamb was having a kid, like one or two weeks or whatever it was into the series, and like wasn't gonna be playing, or at least was maybe gonna be playing like a couple events. But somehow, some way, Ben Lamb's price was fourteen dollars. So Daniel was not the only one that thought Ben would be playing knowing that, and then obviously it's easy to say hindsight is twenty twenty here. But what Ben Lamb ultimately played, which I'm not sure he played at all. I can't really recall seeing him. Him going for fourteen dollars is just a major screw up. But it doesn't matter because Daniel one anyway, Josh Arie on his team three hundred and fifty six points. Daniel mcgraneo was on his own team two hundred and ninety four points. Those were the two horses. Nick Pipio did his thing as well, adding in two hundred and ten points. Brin Kenny scored one ninety three, Dong Chen one fifty, Jason Kuhn seventy three, and Ellie Lezra sixty one. This is a team stars and scrubs, baby. This is a type of build that I would always do when when I was doing twenty five K Fantasy. We did not play this year, but maybe maybe we'll be back next year. We'll see how things go. But try and get one of the top guys, which is usually a deep a Daniel Legran who you know, maybe you throw someone like a Jeremy Osmonds. I know, we paid a record price for him one year, so you know, somebody like the super super high of all guys who's gonna go for a lot. I think this year Texas Mike was was way up there as well. So try and get one of those guys. Then try and like basically max out on at least the way that we approached it. Let me I can just speak to that. We were like we can. We're gonna go max on one guy whoever we target for that year, and we're gonna be willing to go up to one ninety three and then leave one dollar for seven different players to fill out the roster. It's likely that we're not gonna have to go max, right, We're not gonna have to go one ninety three. So what we'll do is then we'll try and get a second kind of max player, you know, and in this case for Nigroanu's team. His second Max's player was josh Aria, who he got for fifty five dollars, so he had himself for one sixteen, He had Aria for fifty five dollars. You have two Hudred dollars to spend total, and then he filled out the roster with two seven, four, one one, and then the ben Lamb at the fourteen, which also he might have just said fourteen. I can't. I don't know what it would have happened. There might have been just his last bid held fourteen, which sometimes people do, so that that could have had there. So I take it back on some of that stuff if that was a mistake, but if that was a bidding war, which we could check the tape, I'm sure because we did stream this, you know. But either way, yeah, this is the type of build that I would I would go about. And you know, Daniel did the damn thing. I'm sure you know he won two hundred and fifty K for winning this thing. I'm sure he had plenty of side action. Daniel always has plenty of side action on here, so he probably absolutely just cleaned up, I mean, just tons of stuff. So his his stats are out there on how he did for the summer, which was incredible for him, had a huge profit, of course, bolstered by winning that hundred K PLO high Roller, and then on top of it, here he goes and wins the twenty five K Fantasy League. I mean, heck, with the way that his w s AP season is going, he's probably gonna win Player of the Year. Currently in sixth place, and we'll see where he goes from there and how it ends up in Paradise. David Baker. Yeah, he finished in second place, collects one hundred and twenty five k. He had the first player ever to score five hundred points in twenty five K Fantasy, and he got that player for a dollar, a whole freaking buck. Niowa Kihara scored five ten. I mean, what a showing for Kihara. We talked about it when when he won one of his bracelets KR because he won two bracelets this summer, about how he was basically giving it his last go off for one year, and then he was just gonna say, all right, this didn't work out for me. Whatever, I'll just I'll still play poker, but I'm only just gonna focus on cash games. I'm not gonna focus on the tournament grind, and here he is just absolutely having an incredible year on the Felt two bracelets, a bunch of other success for Kihara, and as it relates to Fantasy, first player ever to score more than five hundred points. Team's Spite Work that was Matthew Wantman's team. They got third for one hundred K, third place by only three points behind David Baker's team. They wouldn't have cashed. I believe if my math is correct, if David Peters hadn't won the ten K six max that was at the very very end of the series. I think it was one hundred and thirty points for Peters to win that tournament and that allowed them to get up into the money. Here. Team Glue Factory that was Dan Cipio's team, seventy five K for him For fourth place, Team Lang Gang, Mike Lang and Josh Reicherd they scored one thousand even, and I believe with them they needed Ari Angele at the end to perform a certain result in the twenty five K horse that he was running deep in. He ultimately finished in sixth place. That was enough to get Team Langang up into the money and allow them to cash for fifty thousand dollars, so they double their money. There. On the other side of things, you know, you had Team Wasserson as the lowest score two hundred and eighty eight points. His team was just a big hedud all around. Isaac Axton didn't score a point. Don't think he played a single tournament. Huck Seed I saw him maybe twice all summer. Once was in the main event, which is when you usually see everyone other than that. Really didn't see huck He really didn't see huck Seed much. He only scored or he scored zero. Steven Chidwick had a horrific summer for him, he only scored nine. Channon Shore I can't remember seeing Shannon chore much fifteen points for him. Adam Hendrix didn't do much thirty points. Victor Blaum nothing there, forty points. Brian Yun did okay, but price wise probably wanted a bit more out of him. He only scored eighty three. John Turner Pearl Jammer was their highest scorer at one hundred and eleven points. He cost a buck, so Team Wasp not doing so hot. Team Norri finished just ahead of him. They were by far and away the lowest point getters. Everyone else got at least six hundred and one points or better. Nor He got three thirty and Wass got two eighty eight, so they were by far and away out of it. As it pertains to some of the players that were drafted, I already talked about Kihara being the largest point getter with five hundred and ten. Alex Foxon was second with four to forty one. Seawan Winter was third with four h four, Calan Anderson fourth, three eighty five, Nick Shulman fifth, Nick had a great summer three sixty six, Josh Arie three fifty six for him. Martin Zemani did very well three thirty seven. Sean Deeve first, what seventy five percent of the series. Not so good for Shawn Deep, last twenty five percent of the series. Very good for Shan Deep. He was the most expensive player drafted this year, one hundred and thirty three dollars. He ultimately scored three thirty one. Chris Brewer ninth, three sixteen, and then Justin Liberto and Jesse Lowniz tie for tenth on the scoring leader ward three hundred and twelve points each, and coincidentally they were pretty much the same price, seventy dollars for Liberto, sixty nine dollars for Lous. There were six players to score zero. Scott Bolman scored zero, Isaac Hackson scored zero, Ben Lamb zero, Jared Blesnick scored zero. Blesnick played maybe I don't know, three four tournaments something like that, Huck Seed zero and Ben Tollerine zero as well. So that wraps up twenty five K Fantasy a fun year. They had twenty four teams, which tied the record that was set. Definitely makes me want to get back in it next year. So we'll see how my motivation, my fomo for it comes about, you know, probably around the January time. I also think that we should start getting some of these going for some of the other series. Maybe I'll just try and take that up and put something together. We'll see, We'll see how it goes. Paradise would be a fun one, even like doing it for like the win the WPT World Championship at the win could be fun as well, But who knows, We'll see how things go. But Dani mcgoni wins twenty five K Fantasy for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and then in ODB Fantasy the minor league version no uh no harm meant there by calling it the minor league version, but five hundred dollars version. For the ODB Fantasy team they had five hundred and ninety or sorry, they had eleven hundred ninety nine teams five hundred and ninety nine thousand dollars in the price five ninety nine point five to be exact. And it was Alex and Kristen Fox who won this thing for one hundred k. They drafted themselves. Alex Foxton scored four forty one he was on the team. Kristin Foxton scored one sixty two and she was on the team. Calvin Anderson was on this team, Martin Zemani, Dylan Smith deep run of the main for Dylan Smith also want to bracelet. Nick Palmer was their bonus player. Scored one seventy three did Nicky p Jim Callapey was there, Andrew Lichtenberger and Dan Cpo. So pretty pretty good result for the Fox's overall taking one hundred K. There this, I mean this, this whole thing was just absolutely out of control with how it all resulted. I mentioned Nick Palmer scoring one seventy three for the bonus players. He was not the best scoring bonus player. In fact, he was third. There was two players that scored higher than him. Ryan Miller was number one, two hundred and sixty two points for him by far and away the best ODB Fantasy bonus player to score, and then Miles Malay got one seventy nine. He was second. Some of the other ones you had, Matt craven Thine one fifty two, Walter Chambers and Andrew Moreno both scored one forty three. David Lynn won forty one, Eric Baldwin a couple of deep runs and some stuff some field bonuses in there, one thirty four. Darren Rabinowitz won thirty three. He of course won the bracelet at the end, defeating Phil Helmuth. And then An Koush Mandavia won thirty two. Frankoush so fun, fun, fun fantasy season as always. And now we just we turn our sites to the Dobasipy Main Event Final table. I told you guys, this one was going to be short, and I mean right now we're just at twenty seven to twenty eight minutes, so yeah, we're gonna get get out of here. I'll probably be coming to you guys. I'm hoping at least two more times before the main Event Final Table comes our way again. If you've been living under a rock, that main Event Final Table will recommence on August third. They're going to play August third, August fourth, and August fifth until they crown a ten million dollar world champion. I want to do something where I just kind of run through you know who the players are. You know, we we within the production side of things, We have bio sheets from all the players. You know, we obviously talked to a lot of the players along the way. So I'll just kind of, you know, do a little run through on things. I think I want to kind of maybe try and set some betting nods. Obviously, Lucas Jumlan is the big, big, big favorite. In fact, he if you take his sack, if you take the next three on the leaderboard and add those three up, they don't pass Dreamalan. That's how big his chip lead is. Okay, he's got like thirty five percent of the chips and play It's it's freaking while, you know. But if I were betting on it, you know, where would I want to bet? Right? And what do I kind of think think the odds are, because yes, Jumalan is in the driver's seat, but we've seen many times that just because you come into the wisp Man event with the chip Ley, that doesn't mean you're going to end up in the winner circle. So you know, I kind of want to just talk about that and then I don't know, maybe some fun stuff between now and the final table. Maybe get a couple of guests on as well to talk about it. Do you want to try and have my good friend Jeff Platt on. He told me he'd be willing to come on again, so I kind of want to talk to him. Maybe we get a little Jeff Platt preview of the final table. Also, just talk to Jeff. I know he's a listener as well, so he's just going to hear this. Just talk to him about how the summer went, you know, how well he think he handled the parking, right. I mean, that's what we all want to know heading into the twenty twenty seven World Series of Poker.
