We are currently sixteen 116 00:06:48.920 --> 00:06:52.279 miles by the way off the coast of Venezuela, so 117 00:06:52.720 --> 00:06:57.360 I can actually see Venezuela from here. And so once 118 00:06:57.399 --> 00:07:00.720 I began to realize that why is there no history 119 00:07:00.759 --> 00:07:04.399 before Vespucci came? It doesn't even make sense. He is he 143 00:08:27.120 --> 00:08:34.639 takes with him on his journey, by the way, top scientists, philosophers, uh, doctors, 144 00:08:35.080 --> 00:08:38.039 people who are experts in flora and fauna, people who 145 00:08:38.039 --> 00:08:42.840 would we we would consider today anthropologists. So he's he's 146 00:08:42.840 --> 00:08:46.840 considering these also research missions, you know, not just probably 147 00:08:46.879 --> 00:08:50.360 looking for treasure, which of course he most likely one 148 00:08:50.399 --> 00:08:56.120 hundred percent was, but also trying to report back about 149 00:08:56.159 --> 00:08:58.759 these all these strange cultures he's coming across that are 150 00:08:58.840 --> 00:09:02.000 so foreign to the Europeans at that time, and he 151 00:09:02.120 --> 00:09:05.559 had just left an island incidentally, in his writings.
