It's another one of those nights where I was trying to wait for a couple of these tournaments to end. Doesn't seem like they're ending. We got a heads up match in the twenty five k half and half those guys are battling back and forth. One of them just doubled up again. So we'll see if by time I get to that, if there's a winner in that one, because that's a pretty big event that we can talk about. But if not, we'll talk about the winner on the next episode. But there is some stuff that I do want to hit on from that specific event. But the headliner on this episode we got Benny Glauser winning the fifty KC. He topped a field of one hundred and eight entries to win what many consider to be the most prestigious bracelet at the World Series of Poker, and if it's not considered that, then it is certainly second to the WASIP Maine event. I would have the ws main event first, of course, but I know a lot of the top pros out there they want to win the fifty k PPC. They probably think that they have a chance to win it more due to the field size. But you know that's that, and we're we're gonna hit on Benny Glazer's triumphant victory there. We got Daniel Legrand who, speaking of the fifty k, he won that once a couple of years ago. Daniel Legrano coming close to another gold bracelet, will hit on that. We got Sean Winter, I want to talk about him. Didn't win anything, but that's kind of the point of why we're going to be talking about mister Winter. The Ladies Championship event kicked off on Thursday, a record turnout, a record field size in the Ladies Championship, but we did lose the goat on day one, and then we got a couple winners. We got the one K Super Seniors winner, we got the fifte hundred dollars freeze out winner. We'll touch on the other stuff that's kind of happening around down on the strip at Horseshoe and Paris. All right, First up, we got Benny Glaser take down the fifty K Poker Players Championship. He tops a field of one hundred and eight entries one hundred and eight of poker's best to win one million, three hundred and forty three thousand dollars, his ninth bracelet nine nine for Benny, and that's nine in eleven years. His first bracelet win was in twenty fifteen. It's his eighth wasip cash this summer. He came close to getting number nine a little while ago in the ten K limitold Heim Championship. Ever so close because he got second in that event for one hundred and ninety thousand dollars. As it relates to the fifty K PPC. He did say after when he was talking to Jeff Platt post win in his little interview there the little bracelet presentation that they do that Jeff Platt does. He told Jeff that, you know, he really wanted to win this one, and he's come closed a couple of times. Those times that he has come close in the past, first twenty eighteen when he finished fifth in the event for two hundred and sixty thousand dollars, and then in twenty twenty two he took fourth in the event for four hundred and sixty four thousand dollars. An interesting thing is if you look at post Moneymaker, so Moneymaker won in two thousand and three, let's not consider that year because once that happened, that's really what ignited everything. You know, it sparked, It sparked the incredible growth of poker, THESIP, all that sort of stuff. So let's start with the two thousand and four WSP since that year. Guests, who has the most bracelet wins? Of course, you probably guessed Benny Glaser. No one has more bracelets starting with the two thousand and four DOUBSIP than Benny Glauser. He's got nine Helmuth, Shulman, deeb, Miss Rocky, they've all got eight. And then Rasked Ivy, sever and Anderson, Calvin Anderson, they've got seven. So with the type of success that Benny has been having, I think the question now that we have to start asking is is Benny Glasser the greatest mixed games player in the modern era? And honestly, you might even say of all time to be real, but let's just you know, keep it to the modern era, right Also, you know, the modern era is my era. It's a little bit easier for me to speak to than trying to go back, you know, generations and stuff like that. You got Phil helm he's still owning the all time bracelet record with seventeen. Of course, you got Phil Ivy, who was also at this, at this fifty K final table, he finished in third place. You know, he's the player that many consider to be the most naturally gifted, the goat the greatest player of all time. We want to look at the fifty KPPC specifically, of course, that's Michael the grind Durmaans Rockies event. You know, he has owned this tournament. He's won it four times. Famously, he won it the last WSIP in twenty twenty five, and then he also went on to win the WSP main event in just an absolutely out of this world happening. But if we're going to talk strictly about the last two decades, or slightly more than the last two decades, because let's again let's take it back to two thousand and four, the players who came after that year in two thousand and three, when Chris Moneymaker won and poker then exploded. I'm not sure that there's anyone out there who has built a better WSIP resume than Benny Glauser. I understand you might be able to argue maybe some people have, maybe some people maybe Beny hasn't you know, I get it, But Benny one hundred percent, two hundred percent has to be in the conversation. He just has to be nine bracelets in eleven years. He's done it in all different types of variants, and he just won when it comes to mixed games, when it comes to being the best all around player in the world, this is the tournament to win the fifty KPPC. So this isn't just when you look at all that success he's had at the World series of poker. You know, this isn't just bracelet number nine, it's bracelet number nine in eleven years. Again, if you take out all bracelets from two thousand and three and before, Glausar is number one. Okay, he's ahead of Helmut, He's ahead of Shulman, He's ahead of deb He's ahead of his Rocky rast Ivy sver Anderson, you name it. He is ahead. I don't think I can state how hard it is to win this specific tournament. You know this. You have to play for five days, You got to play nine different games. It is a very long drawn out, player friendly structure. You know, this isn't just about showing up for two days and just running hot, right like, this is a true test of a poker tournament. This is, you know, part of its endurance. If if there was ever a tournament that was as close as it could get to a cash game, it's this one, and it's the WSP min event, right like those are the two and there's really nothing else that's close. You know, the field in this one one hundred and eight of the world's best mixed game specialists. You know, of course, yes, you have some other players in their blasting. But everyone's got a lot of game. They're all playing their ass off. They're putting up fifty K to play this one. First place is more than one point three four million dollars when you factor in what Benny's been doing this summer alone. Again, this is his eighth abyssip cash. Like, it's not like this is like, you know, he just got in this tournament. It kind of came out of nowhere. Had in the fact that he's been close in this event before, add in the fact that he's had eight previous mixed game bracelets, Like this isn't just magic and something that just happened out of thin air. Like Benny's a freaking crusher. He really is, you know, just whatever a week or two weeks ago or however long it was, he almost won the ten k Lemon Holdham Championship. He finished second there for one hundred and ninety K. I mean, this is just absolutely crazy. He's been knocking on this door before. I mentioned the fifth place finish in twenty eighteen, I mentioned the fourth place finish in twenty twenty two. Nine bracelets in eleven years. That is simply incredible. It really, really really is, and it's nine bracelets in the most recent eleven years, when I don't think it's any surprise to say that this is the hardest time to win it poker. Everyone is good, fields are bigger, it's harder to win. And Benny is just absolutely at the top of his game. You know. Again, he's ahead of Helmut Shulman. Deep this rocky rast ivy see for Galvin Anderson, Like that is a six sick list of players right there, and Benny Glauser is just alone to the top with nine bracelets since two thousand and four. You know, there are players that dominate a game, sure, got it. There are players that dominate an era. Of course, you know, Benny has basically dominated multiple games, you know, And it's just it's crazy. Since he won his first bracelet in twenty fifteen, he's averaged nearly a bracelet a year. I mean, that's awesome, I know, I know. You know, obviously there were some years when he didn't win, some he won three the one year, Like, I get it. You know, it's almost like now he's got to be the player that you have to think has Sorry, maybe not the player, but he's he's one of the players who has a great shot at running down Phil Hemp. He has to if he stays on this pace. You know, if you just put him at a bracelet a year, okay, the next ten years, he's gonna have ten more. He's gonna be up to nineteen. Like you know, maybe some years he doesn't win one, maybe o those years he wins two. Like, I mean, he's certainly good enough. And while he hasn't won a bracelet in Nolan at hold Him or potlom and Omaha. Like Ben, he plays all the games, you know, and yes, certain games might be better. He might say he's better at that than the big bet stuff, of course, but he's had plenty of success in big bet stuff, right. Like, he's a very very good player, and he tries his ass off, which I think matters a lot. You know, I think that's probably you know, Phil Hellmuse's best skill is that he's like never gonna give up ever. You know, he's always gonna try, try, try. We can all like you know, poke fun at his game or saying he's not doing this right or that right or whatever the heck it is, but like he's always going to try to, Like his last chip is gone, and Benny's a similar type of player. He's always going to just bust his ass and try, try to try, and he cares a lot. He showed a lot of emotion after he won this tournament. You know, he got down in kind of a squad. You know, he didn't really get down to his knees, but he was down down to his squad. He was, you know, visibly emotional, tears coming out of his eyes. Really couldn't he really didn't have enough time to collect himself before he went up and talked to Jeff Platt, but he, you know, he did what he could, said some really good things. And yeah, I mean, I mean, this guy is just he's becoming one of, if not the defining mixed game legend in poker history. Like he really is. And again he might be the one that ultimately ends up running down Phil Hammyth. First, He's got a ways to go. Of course, Helmet is up there with seventeen helmets, of course, still playing. But on this pace, I mean, Benny is is absolutely dominating. I would say that the next thing for many just seems naturally that it's gonna be WSP Player of the Year. Now does that come this year. Does that come in a future year? I don't know, but that seems like the one thing he's got to tick off, you know, not that he has to, you know, I think his his resume already speaks for itself. Yes, but if he is able to achieve WSP Player of the Year honors, then that would just be the absolute ice you Noman King. All right, let's go over and check out this twenty five k high roller half and half nolanan Holdham slash pot limit. Omaha. They are still heads up at time of recording. It's twelve forty nine am right now. On Friday, June twenty sixth Elis Parsonen is heads up with another finish player. He finished legend Yuha Helpi. Elis is going for his second bracelet this summer. We've already had Nioi Kihara to this summer. We've already had Calvin Anderson winning to this summer. Now Elis could get his second as well. These guys. Elis did pull away, he had the chipley to start, he started to pull away. Help me, doubled up a couple of times. And now it looks like, at least according to Poker News again twelve forty nine am that they are basically dead even so doesn't look like we're going to get to talk about this one. It does look like they are about thirty five to forty big Linds deep, So this one could take a while, especially you know, I'm I'm assuming these guys absolutely wanted a ton, right, so they're going to be freaking battling until the end. But we can still talk about this tournament a little bit, you know, kind of up until this point. You know, at the final table, a couple of notable stories here. One we had Lou Garza, Sweet Lou ap Lou Garza making the final table. He ultimately finished in sixth place for two hundred and three thousand dollars. And I bring up Garza because he won this event last year, almost went back to back, that's wild. You had Daniel Legrandu at the final table. He finished in seventh place for jesh, I have one hundred and fifty three thousand dollars like the player we just talked about winning the fifty k PPC Benny Glasser Daniel m'granno making his eighth cash of the summer's eighth WSP cash of the summer. Of course, that seventh place finish though, is going to be short of bracelet number eight. This summer for Daniel, he's got a ninth, a twentieth, in eighth, a thirteenth, a twenty sixth and eleventh, and eighty fourth and a seventh, so he's definitely putting together some deep runs. He's still got thirty events left on the schedule, so I would expect, at a stone minimum, probably two more final tables out of Daniel. It's just my personal expectation with the kind of performances that he's been putting out there so far, and he's got thirty events left to go win number eight or maybe even bracelet number nine if he's able to rip two of these off. But it's not like he hasn't been kind of knocking out the door, Daniel. He has certainly been knocking at the door with so many deep runs like he's been having, and a lot of those that have been in some some bigger buying events against some tough competition like this one here, the twenty five k half and half. So Daniel's getting close. Did fall short here, yes, but you know, it seems like he's he's getting pretty gone close to getting another piece of doubsipy goal. And then the other player that I want to mention from this event, third place finisher taking home five hundred and forty thousand dollars. That is, if there was a poster child for how cruel it can be in poker tournaments, how hard it can be to win a bracelet. You know, how tough and brutal the w s AP grind can can be. You know, when you couple in how often you're out there playing, how close you're getting to ultimately winning, and you know, in a lot of cases, or at least in this player's case, is how close you're coming but ultimately not walking away with a title. That's Shawn Winter. I mean, I mean every single year it seems to come out. We have this list in poker that everyone talks about. You know, I've talked about it many times, the best players who still don't have ASP bracelet. Now that list really should be called the list of notable players who still don't have ABSP bracelet. Either way, whatever the heck you want to call it. Shawn Winter. Unfortunately for him, he's going to remain on that list this time another deep run he gets third place in this twenty five K half and half, another final table for him. Earlier this summer he had a fourth place in an event, he had a third place in an event. Now he's got this third place. So three top four finishes but still short of that bracelet. Over the years, he's had six other top five finishes in WSLP events. I mean, you, on one hand, it's like you kind of hurt for the guy, right, You're kind of like, man like, can he just like rip this one off already, Like can he just get this monkey off his back? On the other side of things, you know, you just really do appreciate how often he's able to put himself in a position of the final five, the final four, the final three, you know, in these tournaments. And it's not like Sean Winter's really out there putting in a huge amount of volume. You know, he plays a good amount, yes, but he really focuses on stuff that's five K and higher, ten K and higher. So one, it's not the highest volume. So you can't just be like, well, it's just volume, that's why he's getting so deep all the time. It's really not that. And then also like the higher the buy in the tougher the competition generally, but Sean Winter, you know, he's he keeps doing it in terms of putting himself in position to win one of these, and he just hasn't yet. We felt this, you know, a handful of years ago with Jason Kohn for so long and then he finally got that, he won the twenty five K heads up finally, right. We felt it for a while with Seth Davies more recently, maybe a player that that maybe he's not on the level of maybe a Jason Coon in terms of like notoriety or a Shawn Winter in terms of notoriety. But Josh Reiker just won the other day, right, you know, that guy's won everything and he finally got it. Darren Elias is another one. But I think Darren he won an online event, right, So, I mean, you can say what you want about the online bracelets, but still got one, right, you know. But so long, it's like, man, is he ever going to get one? Is he ever going to get when? Is he ever going to get one? And these players are able to win everywhere else. You know, Shawn Winter's won everywhere else, but he, for whatever reason, he just can't get the bracelet. He just can't do it, you know. I think sometimes when we kind of put together these lists, whether you want to call it the best players a lot of bracelet or the most notable players with a lot of bracelet, I think some people out there might say, like, well, what's missing? Why aren't these people closing? Why why can't they finish the job? You know? And honestly, it's probably just variance. We all know how good Shawn Winter is. He's proven he can get there time and time again that I know. He is a guy who he's often he's often shorter stacked, you know, and it's kind of a funny little joke with him that you just can't kill the guy. But he's also had plenty of big stacks plenty of times, right, you know. I remember the I think it was the was it the two nd fifty K final table either last year or a couple of years ago or whatever, where he got it in with kings versus queens. I believe it was against Taylor von Kregenberg and vob Kregenberger hit a queen that was with for a ton of the chips in play at the final table. So like stuff like that just just not going Winter's way. But you have to believe that if you just consistently keep putting yourself in these situations and as it pertains to Winter. Here the final three, the final four, the final five players in WSP events, like, eventually the cards are going to cooperate things. You know, the universe is going to align and he's gonna get his time in the Winter Circle. The resume for Seann It already says he's one of the most elite tournament players of his generation and now we are just waiting on him winning the bracelet. But again it's not going to come in this twenty five K half and half because third place finished for him five hundred and forty K. But we're not going to finish this one out or be able to finish this one out. Here just refreshing the page again. These guys are separated by only about five or six big blinds here, Elis Parson and you help you the two fins, So we'll have to touch on that one on the next episode. In the one K Ladies Championship, record turnout in this event, I mean, what a freaking showing over the Dobyssipe Ladies Championship fourteen hundred and seventy five entries. That makes it the largest ever Ladies championship in do Bissip history, easily topping last year's record field of thirteen hundred and sixty eight. So more than one hundred entries better, almost two hundred thousand dollars will be going to the winner in this event. The top two hundred and twenty two places will pay out. I don't think they are in the money just yet. It looks like they're about one hundred, one hundred and ten places short of the money. So day two they'll be getting in the money on this one. Shina Okamoto, the goat aka Shina Okagoto, she busted today, so she's not going to be seeing We're not going to be seeing a three peet from her. Remember it's not only just the fact that she's won it the last two years, which is just absolutely ridiculous. But then back in twenty twenty three she finished second. So twenty twenty three, she gets second, then she gets first, then she gets first again. Unfortunately, we're not going to see her her winning again, you know. But still a long way to go for this one, I believe, if I remember correctly, for what I saw on the WSP s streaming today because they were showing the fifty KPBC when they showed at the end what was coming up. I think it's three straight days of this Ladies Championship, Day two, Day three, and then the final table. If these chip guns are correct, it looks like we got some big stacks for Angela Jordanson, Jessica Tussel, who I think won this event before. Yeah, she won this event before, Lexi, Gavin Mather, she's coming off a recent final table. Marshall Wolac is in there, so yeah, I mean there's obviously a lot of good players left, you know. I said there's a little bit over three hundred players remaining in this field. And again, this is a record turnout for the WSP Ladies Championship. And we'll pit back up on this one on the next episode as well. A lot to go from this tournament, and definitely tune in to watch this one as we watch it play out over these next couple of days. The one K Super Seniors has come to an end. Lionel Barricano tops thirty three hundred and twenty three entries to win his first bracelet. He also gets three hundred and fifty five dimes. He denied Kevin Song a second w Sop bracelet. Nancy Bernbaum made the final table. She finished fifth for a little bit over one hundred k. Alexander Dovchenko talked about him on the last episode, how I haven't seen him in a long time or heard his name in a long time, but he got sixth place in this event for seventy six thousand dollars. In the fifteen hundred dollars freeze out, Siro Gonzalez topped a field of twenty six hundred and seventeen entries to win almost four hundred and fifty thousand dollars his first bracelet as well. Two names that stick out to me here two guys that play in the studio A bit you got sixth place Brandon Hamlet ninety three thousand dollars for him, and then Aramzobian finishing in eighth place for fifty four thousand dollars. I believe I saw on a Ram's Instagram story that he lost a pot to be one of eight, and then I don't know if you busted on the hand or busted shortly thereafter, but either way, A Ramzobe in eighth place here in the fifteen hundred dollars freeze out the one K tag team the event that I played without playing a single hand in the tournament thanks to my guy Ronnie Barta. Looks like twenty seven players left from the field of thirteen hundred and seventy five Up top in this one is almost one hundred and eighty five thousand dollars. We'll talk about this one on a future episode. You got the ten K limit duce to seven Championship. Looks like they're playing a couple more hands before they finish out on the night they are deep into the money. There were one hundred and seventy six entries in this field right now. Poker New says eleven left. And the names that I see Todd Brunton, Justin Smith, Andrew Kelsall aka aj Kelsal, Nick Shulman, Shulman trying to do it again, Billy Baxter, the legends still in the mix. Look at this name Nihoa Kihara again. This guy unfreaking believable. So some some big names here in the mix and the ten K limit two to seven Championship, they should play to a winner on Friday, and we'll have the information on who took this one down and scored the three hundred and ninety two thousand dollars first place prize once it ends. I do want to do a check in here on two events that we talked about on the last episode. First up, the w s AP Mystery Millions. So they played Day one C on Thursday, the third of five starting flights. They got three and forty three entries. How does that compare to last year's Day one C. Well, it's up now, it's not up as much as the first two starting flights were up. The first starting flight was up twenty three point six percent, the second starting flight was up twenty four point three percent. This one is still up though, up four point nine percent. So it continues to pace well does the Mystery Millions. And it's kind of setting up nicely because we're what a week away less than a week away from the WSP main event. So are we starting to gain that momentum? Is the World Series of Poker starting to gain the momentum it needs to head into the WSP main event to put up a really big number. You know, a lot of people are kind of thinking that the wspre main event is going to be down once again. I'm trying to remain as optimistic as possible, and if I was to point to something that would allow me to be optimistic, it would be this. You know, you got the Ladies Championship set in a record field, you got this Mystery Millions. Looks like it's performing very very well over these first three starting flights. Two starting flights to go still, so we'll see how this one pans out the rest of the way, but things are looking pretty pretty good here at the World Series of Poker for the Mystery million to know what they have to hit on Fry. Last year's Day one D had five three hundred and fourteen entries and then Day one E got eighty one hundred and eighteen entries, so two giant numbers. So that's what we're looking for here on Friday and Saturday to hit. And then the other event that I do want to check in on, we're gonna go off property once again. We're gonna check back in on this ten k win Summer Championship. I told you guys yesterday or on the last episode about how it drew eleven hundred and seventy entries for a prize school just shy of eleven million dollars. It did have a ten million dollar guarantee, so it cleared that. But the that eleven hundred and seventy entries was down almost twenty four percent from the year prior. That said, one hundred and fifty one places paid this year. They are well into the money. It looks like if I'm looking at Poker Atlas and this information is correct, looks like they just wrapped up play. Sixty four players remain. They are all in the money. They are all guaranteed at least thirty two one thousand dollars. First place in this tournament a whopping one point eight two four million dollars. Second place is one point two four four million dollars. In my opinion, this is the event that the newly added GG millions high Roller, that ten k event earlier at the w S a P. That's what that event was supposed to be, like multi flight ten k high roller event, you know, if you ask me, that's what the g GG millions is supposed to be. It's supposed to be on par with like this ten k Win Summer Championship, the ten k Win Summer Championship got about, you know, right around double the entries, double the prize pool in it, and that's largely because of well won the timing too. This had a guarantee on it at the Dowasity event doesn't have a guarantee on it. You know. WSP doesn't really do guaranteed prize pools unless it's doing you know, the million Maker where they're guaranteeing a first place prize or they're guarantee in some of those bounty pool stuff like that. Right, But you know, if you do want to have the GG millions high roller pop off, like I think, slapping a guarantee and it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, right. It does look like Alexander Chevlikov, the winner of the twenty twenty five EPT Monte Carlo main event. It looks like he is the chip leader entering day three of this Win Summer Championship. And then another quick news item from the win. It was announced today on or yesterday on the Poker News podcast that the WPT World Championship will be returning to the Win in December, and that'll be its fifth year at December. I love that series it's one of the best of the year. It's the second best series of the year to the World Series of Poker. I can't wait to play it. I've been I've been kind of thinking these last few days, like I really wish that the schedule would come out so I get start planning and seeing what I want to play. Freaking love of that series, so very much looking forward to it. And you know, even though they didn't announce any dates, they didn't announce anything on the schedule. All they said was that it is coming back in December for its fifth year, So we'll be on alert for when all that stuff drops. I'm assuming it's gonna take a little bit of time to get all that out there. But that's that. That's the pod. Relatively short and sweet here, but we are heading into Friday. We are getting very very close to the World Series of Poker Main Event. I cannot freaking wait. It's going to be absolutely awesome. I'm gonna be in there again this year. First up, I am going to play the Mini main Event, a tournament I also love. I think I had to skip it last year or maybe the year before, I can't remember, but I love that freaking tournament. It's great. So I'll be in there for those two events. That'll close out the plane for my summer, and you know, of course I'll be there on site just about every single day. It's one awa eight am. I can hear my daughter at the top of the stairs. I'm calling for somebody, so I'm gonna go deal with that.
