Hello, everyone, Welcome back to a new episode of the Poker Go Podcast. My name is Donnie Peters. It is one two three four am, twelve thirty four am on Monday, June twenty seconds. I know I've faulted on this in the past in terms of saying this is gonna be short and sweet, but it's likely gonna be pretty short and sweet here because yours truly bagged for day three of the Milling Maker. So I've been playing all day. I've been playing all day for the past two days. I want to be able to get some sleep tonight, so I'm gonna try and bang out a podcast tonight. Truth be told, I did fire up the podcast to do one last night or the night before, and it was twelve forty five am. I'd got one plane, you know. I get home, I'm looking through all the results and like everything is still running. Like I'm like, so nothing's even ending, Like all this stuff is still happening. So you know, you got the ten k horse is still playing out, so you got all this other There's not really any other tournaments that are really ending, you know. So I'm just like, all right, well, I gots I'm not waiting up all night, so I guess I'm just gonna have to punt on this day and come to the next day. So here we are, it's the next day. We got to talk about Calvin Anderson once again. We already talked about him, and we're talking about him again. We got to hit on Joussimoo, the absolute Brazilian crusher. Zach Rumberg won the first ever five card plo, and I think we've got a couple other winners that we're gonna hit on here as we go. As always, please do share the podcast wherever you can share it, like it, give us five stars, leave us a review, all that sort of stuff. I know I owe you guys at mailbag, so that's going to be coming at some point. I do have my spreadsheet finally complete now with the first fifty events on this year's w SIP schedule, and what I'm talking about is the entries, the number of entries for those first fifty events, and I'm going to compare them to some past year. So I just got to collect my thoughts on where I sit from it, because I know that there's a lot of talk about the numbers being down in a lot of events this year. But a little bit of a teaser here is that I don't think it's as bad as people might be making it out. To see new season of high Stakes Poker streaming now on poker Go. The largest ever pot in high st poker history just dropped and it was a two point four million dollar banger. So if you guys want to see that and see all the other big seven figure pots from season sixteen, head on over to poker Go because that's where you can exclusively watch high stakes poker. Don't forget to use the promo code HSP sixteen to get thirty dollars off your first year of a new annual plan. That is good for new sign ups. That is also good for anyone who wants to upgrade from monthly or quarterly. But let's get into it with Calvin Anderson here. He won the ten k Horse Championship. So it's the second time this summer that we've seen someone win a ten k championship event, hop into the next ten D championship event and then go on to win that one. Calvin Anderson did it here. We talked about him a few days ago winning the ten k raz Championship. Then he gets into the ten k Horse Championship Boom. He tops one hundred and eighty nine entries to win four one hundred and thirteen thousand dollars. Naokihara did it earlier in the summer when he won back to back championship events. For Anderson his seventh career bracelet, he topped Josh Aria in heads up play. Anderson took the four hundred and thirteen thousand dollars, Aria second place for two hundred and seventy five one thousand dollars. You also had Roberts Rocky ht this final table. You had David Bach at this final table as well. The story here is, of course, Calvin Anderson. You know, a few days ago, I was on this microphone, I was sitting in this chair. I was talking about how Calvin Anderson winning his six bracelet. You know how that is one of the most underrated great players that poker has. Right now. We all throw around these names. You know, a lot of the names like like the person he beat heads up josh Aari for example. All those names get thrown around when it comes Poker Hall of Fame time. Of course, that's fine. I don't believe Calvin Anderson is eligible because I don't think he's forty years old yet. But that said, you know, his name should be up there right Like he now has seven bracelets, he has a bunch of other wins. You know, he's had some success in PGT events. He had that WPT Prime Championship win for more than a million dollars. You know, cal does it, and he does it in a wide variety of games. And now just past the halfway point of the twenty twenty six World Series of Poker, Calvin Anderson is right there in the thick of it to chase down the WSB Player of the Year title, which would just be another incredible feather in his cap. You know. So at some point we just got to stop calling this a hot streak and really start calling it for what it is. And Calvin Anderson's got flat out one of the best tournament resumes and poker hands down. And you know, if you were to if you were to poll people, like if I were to walk around the World tore as a poker tomorrow and say, you know, who are the best tournament players of the last fifteen years, and I mean Calvin Adson's name might not get mentioned at all. I mean how many people would I need to get to before I get to Calvin Anderson. Now, obviously there are a lot of great, great, great tournament players, but when you start racking up the accolades that he has racked up, I mean, he's got to be up there in some sort of conversation, right He's he just always does it. Now will he continue to do it? I don't know. I mean I feel like you have to just say yes because scoreboard. This is what the scoreboard said. The guy just keeps on a freaking winning. He's not not loud, you know, He's not constantly out there creating a bunch of headlines. But Calvin Anderson just constantly keeps on winning. Now, he's got a little bit of a miss rocky in his game, where he plays a high percentage of hands when he's at the table. He is an aggressive player. He can't have a bit of a wider range than most you know, But Calvin Anderson absolutely has the skills and he of course has the results now to go up there with some of the best in the world. It really is just incredible to watch him perform time and time again. So now we had Iowa kihar winning a bracelet two times this summer. Now we got Calvin Anderson doing it. I mean, this, this Player of the Year race this year is just absolutely freaking incredible. I don't know if WSP dot com is up to date yet. Yeah, I don't think it is, because I'm looking at it now and doesn't look like Calvin Anderson is. Oh he's in ninth place, so that might be up to date. I don't know, but I mean within the top fifteen here. Just just listen to some of these names. Alex Foxen, Nick Shulman, Sean deep Naoikihar Josh ari A, Justin Loberto URIs of Aleski, Calvin Anderson, Dennis Weiss, Stephen Hubbard, Chris Unikan, Marco Johnson, uh seem Aka, Nick Salem, Alex Anton and bow Dan. I mean some of those players, Fox and Shulman, deep Aria, Euris of Alefski, Anderson. Like, this is a great, great, great player of the erase. It really is. I was actually talking to someone the other day who said that they might have tinkered with the formula a little bit. I don't know if that's true or false, but the person, you know, I believe the sources in the know and I, you know, I think that they did, or you know, he believed at least that they adjusted with it a little bit. So you know, we'll see how this all shakes out in the end. But right now, these names incredible race. You know, I can't wait to see this thing play out as we go forward. Jouson Mao over in the fifty k PLO high Roller. He topped one hundred and ten entries to win one point three six eight million dollars his fourth career bracelet. He defeated Santos Servanna in heads up place. Santos was going for his second bracelet of the summer. Robert Cowan finished in third year. He's of Alefski. I just mentioned his name and the Player of the Year race. He took sixth place in this one at Niowa Kihara. I just talked about him a little bit. He finished seventh place. What a freaking summer this guy's having. Niowa Kihara, who who said that he was basically about to quit poker, tournament poker, I should say tournament poker, excuse me and just go back to cash And now he is absolutely just dominating in the summer. So that's Niaoiqihar just an absolutely incredible, credible showing. And you know we still have what forty percent of the summer left, but jausimout fourth bracelet. This guy, for the past six months or so has been crushing. He won a Super High rollerble at the studio for over a million dollars. That was that epic heads up now against Jason Kuhn when they battled for like four or five hours. It was just absolutely out of control, both players playing a plus plus plus poker. That was awesome. He also won a bracelet at WSOP Paradise. He won one hundred and fifty k at Paradise for more than three million dollars. So he's got the seven figure score for Super High Rollerball. He's got the three million dollar score here for the WSP Paradise Triton victory, which was his third bracelet. Here he's got another one point three eight million dollars plus. So I mean, Jossamoo absolutely crushing, absolutely on fire. Another player who now he doesn't have the bracelet count that some of the other guys do. Of course, he's only got four, but you know wel T has four, Alex Foxen's got four. I mean Alex Foxen jos Samoo. Like, if people are gonna pick one of the two, they're probably gonna pick Alex Foxen. But Chaos Samoo is as equal as a Crusher as far as I'm concerned. An absolute crusher plays Nolan Hold super well, plays Plo super well. Josama was always in there battling in the studio. We know someone like an Alex Foxen was always in there battling in the studio. Well, JOm I was there every single day for just about every single event, always fire and fire and firing. And you know, he's really come on these last six months in terms of getting those those big seven figure scores that a career like his deserves. Gotta take us back a day here for this next talking point. When I recorded the last episode, Sean Deep was still taking on Joey Couten in heads up play. Well, as it turns out, Joey Couten denied Sean Dee his bracelets. Joey Couten gets his third. Believe it was the ninth bracelet that's uh Dee was going for there. Deep started with a a sizable lead heads up. I watched a bit of the heads up match. I mean, Joey Couten just had his number. I mean, honestly, he just won pot after pot after pot after pot, big rail. On both sides. Deep had a lot of his supporters, let's say fifteen to twenty of them. On the other side, inequal amount of people, I believe. I heard Nick Waginty say it was basically the entire Columbus, Ohio poker scene was on Joey Couten's side. Joey Couten out there looking like Grandma from Rounders with that with with the jacket on, with with the hat. I mean, he looked looking as cool as hell out there. Ultimately is able to come back finish off Deep Deep kind of a little bit of a storm out after it, and I mean not really, but like got up, walked right off, grabbed his phone and like just kind of let like he was like you could kind of tell it was like, man, like I got so close, especially after the summer that Deep's been had and having excuse me, and uh yeah, just couldn't ultimately get the job. And I'm probably stung a little bit more because he did have a big lead for much of the final table, not only during heads up play, but ultimately it was Joey Cooden winning the three K nine game Mix for two hundred and fifty four thousand dollars. That said everything that Sean Deep did during WASP Europe and now coupled with this second place finish, he also has one final table earlier this summer as well. He's right back into the thick of things for the wasity player of the Erase and that is what he cares about first and foremost. Zach Gruenberg won the first ever five card Plo event for his third career bracelet. Now. Zach Gruenberg aka Hustler Groon is a guy who you know he I mean, he hit rock bottom him poker kind of right after Black Friday. He fell into a pretty severe drug addiction, got addicted to pills, even said he got addicted to heroin, and he was at like the lowest of the low, you know, kind of had some financial issues with like you know, basically he was kind of taking some of his money that he was getting from his staking deal and he was spending it on drugs and like all this sort of stuff. I mean, he's just it was really bad for Zach Gruenberg. You know, he talked about this in a card Player article that they did several years ago. But you know, eventually he was able to come out of it, you know, went to rehab, got himself straight, got everything together, came back, came back to the World Series of Poker, had a really good summer that first summer back. And yeah, ever since then, you know, he's just been on the right track. And here he is becoming the winner of the first ever five card pot limit Omaha event at the World Series of Poker. I think they've had five card plo high low before, but not five card plo. In this one, Grooenberg topped the field of thirteen hundred and nineteen entries to get the job done. He won two hundred and seventy one thousand dollars. I mean, really cool for Gruenberg. You know, he's in hustler. Gruons is just in og On poker legend, right, he really is. So it's great to see him turn his life around like this. It's great to see him continue to stay playing poker and have the success now that he continues to have. In the three K six handed no limit hold them abashek Mater wins that one for four hundred and ninety two thousand dollars. He denied former WSP Main Event champion Martin Jacobson, not Martin Jakobsen, Rich Ryan Producer Rich Martin Jacobson Jacobson, taking him three hundred and twenty seven thousand dollars for second place. Nasim Salem aka Nick Salem. He won the GG Millions High Roller and here he is finishing third in this event for two hundred and twenty six thousand dollars. Chris Vich. I thought Chrisovich was a mixed game player, but performing well here in Nola. Man Holdham finished sixth in this event. Martyr topped a field of one thy one hundred and fifty entries in this one. We also had the fifty k PPC kicked off today. That one is I mean, I mean it's day one, so it's obviously super early. I'm just kind of looking through the chip counts here. Obviously, you know, take this for what you will, because things are gonna change, and they're gonna change probably pretty drastically. But it looks like Matt Glance is off to a hot start. China Rhem, Benny Glaser all performing very well out of the gate, Jason Merciers in the field, Dylan Wiseman's in the field, of josh Ari's in the field. Josh Ari of course, fresh off that second place finish in the ten k horse. You got Chris Brewer in the field, Eric Wasterson, James Ops, Paul Volpie. Yeah. I mean that's you know, to who's who. Let's look at some of the players that are out though, how about that, Chad Eves sledge out, Robert is Not, Miss Rocky out, Scott sever out, Jeremy Osmas Busto, Dan Cats out, Natcho Barbaro's out, Patrick Leonard's out, Michael Miss Rocky looks like he's the latest one that's out as well. So they are up to eighty seven entries right now. I don't know how long registration stays open to this one, but I would assume it stays open for quite a long time. And this is a five or six day event. They've said many times, at least Jeff Platt has said many times on social media they're going to be streaming multiple days of this. So for all those people out there who have been clamoring for some Mixed Games coverage, there are multiple days supposedly coming from the fifty k PPC. You also had one k plo is playing down on day one B, so that one's still happening. Don't need to touch on that one too much. We have the fifteen dollars limit deuce to seven triple draw is down to looks like the final two tables. Who we got in here? Steve bill racis wow, Steve Billa rockis in there, Sean Trojas in there, Daniel Strelitz, Miguel Rodriguez. Okay, Rod's just out there doing it. Huh. We drafted him once on twenty five K Fantasy. He didn't do much for us. A little late, buddy, little late. I just kidding. The five hundred dollars Salute to Warriors got almost forty five hundred entries. They are playing it out now on day one, so not gonna touch on that one too much. And yeah, I think that's the pod. I told you it was gonna be short and sweet. I think it is short and sweet here. I had a pretty good Day two for my million maker run. I'm in for two bullets. I played Day one D. I doubled up the second or third hand that I played on my first bullet. After that, just lost lost, lost, lost, loss, ultimately busted whatever got back in ended up kind of just hanging around. You start with twenty five K structures, really really good hour long levels. It's a very player friendly structure for sure. They just really got to fix the dinner breaks and like some silly breaks that they do. But anyway, I bag thirty nine k on day one, coming back to one k T twok, I get it up to around seventy thousand, maybe a slightly less than seventy thousand, without having to go to any showdowns. Then I pick up aces. I end up doubling up to one forty or one fifty or whatever it is, and uh yeah, from there it was kind of just smooth sailing. I ran one really really big bluff triple barrel bluff with two fours on ace eight five eight ten rainbow board. Got that one through with a shove on the river. Had to endure a four or five minute tank, but got it through. And then yeah, one some big pots later on, ended up bagging six hundred and fifteen thousand. I believe when we come back on Monday, well I'll have should be twenty k big blind so just over thirty bigs, you know, so we'll see how go. I definitely played at some tougher tables as things kind of converged down, but you know, I mean that's to be expected, you know, in in tournament poker, you know, the better players are. You know, at least a lot of them are gonna are gonna win as we go, so you know, you got to just be prepared to be able to battle with them. But I felt really good all day and had some big hands that helped out as well. And uh yeah, we'll we'll see how we go. We'll go from there. I have no idea what the payout is or anything like that. I just know that obviously it's a millionaire maker, so there's a million dollars up top. At least there's like twelve thousand entries in this freaking ridiculous thing. So we'll see if we can make some hands on Monday and see if we can keep this train right on moving. But that's it. That's the pod. So I appreciate you guys, as always appreciate producer Rich for putting this together in the early morning and getting it out for all you to listen to. And until next time, my name is Donny Peters. This has been the latest episode of the Poker Girl Podcast. Off to you guys, labor rats night. The Jenny expressed
