I've seen cancer travel from surgery where the 107 00:06:59.120 --> 00:07:02.240 surgeon spread to cancer. It comes back right in the 108 00:07:02.240 --> 00:07:05.920 local area or the general area. But I've not seen 109 00:07:06.120 --> 00:07:09.720 cancer come back from a tiny little needle. So I 110 00:07:09.759 --> 00:07:11.959 believe it's nothing to be fearful about. I think what 111 00:07:12.000 --> 00:07:15.560 should be fearful about is not getting tested and allowing 112 00:07:15.639 --> 00:07:18.920 cancer to grow and spread. He had a cancer of 162 00:10:09.799 --> 00:10:12.600 the base of the tongue. The base of the tongue 163 00:10:12.639 --> 00:10:14.799 is a part of the tongue that's attached to the bone, 164 00:10:15.120 --> 00:10:17.679 so it serves kind of as a foundation for the tongue. 165 00:10:17.879 --> 00:10:19.919 Of course, we need our tongue for eating, we need 166 00:10:19.960 --> 00:10:23.879 our tongue for speaking and other purposes. So this man 167 00:10:23.960 --> 00:10:26.200 had a cancer not of the mobile part, not the 168 00:10:26.240 --> 00:10:28.120 part of the tongue that you really see or that 169 00:10:28.639 --> 00:10:32.240 pulls food back on their mouth, but at the base 170 00:10:32.279 --> 00:10:34.480 of the tongue. It's the origin of the tongue that's 171 00:10:34.519 --> 00:10:36.960 a part of the tongue that's connected to the bone 172 00:10:36.960 --> 00:10:39.480 where it serves as a foundation. So he had a 173 00:10:39.519 --> 00:10:41.240 cancer of the base of the tongue, and he had 174 00:10:41.279 --> 00:10:45.480 chemo and radiation and a super duper hospital. And now 175 00:10:45.519 --> 00:10:49.200 he comes in with a recently long story. He's there 176 00:10:49.240 --> 00:10:52.600 with his wife, and he's had lots of complications from 177 00:10:52.720 --> 00:10:58.720 standard radiation elsewhere, not our radiation, difficulty eating and difficulties speaking. 178 00:10:59.399 --> 00:11:04.600 But cancers come back after standard radiation and after standard chemotherapy. 179 00:11:05.519 --> 00:11:07.879 And he's been going to the super duper place for 180 00:11:07.919 --> 00:11:11.799 a long time and they're there giving him chemo and 181 00:11:11.879 --> 00:11:15.320 chemo and chemo. You know, chemo number one costs about 182 00:11:15.320 --> 00:11:17.279 one hundred to two hundred thousand dollars a year, so 183 00:11:17.279 --> 00:11:21.279 it's expensive. And we know number two that chemotherapy, like 184 00:11:21.360 --> 00:11:25.240 for most diseases, I should tell you most diseases, chemotherapy 185 00:11:25.279 --> 00:11:28.720 by itself does not cure the cancer, and certainly in 186 00:11:28.759 --> 00:11:32.840 his case, it had had chemotherapy with radiation in the past, 187 00:11:33.000 --> 00:11:36.120 so it obviously didn't work properly because the purpose of 188 00:11:36.159 --> 00:11:38.720 that initial treatment was to cure him, and he was 189 00:11:38.799 --> 00:11:43.519 not cured. The cancer's back. So he's there in our 190 00:11:43.559 --> 00:11:46.799 office talking about what other people are plenty to do, 191 00:11:47.399 --> 00:11:49.240 and it seems like the other people have done all 192 00:11:49.240 --> 00:11:53.159 the tests, but they've either ignored the reading of the 193 00:11:53.240 --> 00:11:57.320 test or ignored telling the patient and his loved one 194 00:11:57.759 --> 00:12:01.440 what the test showed. So it's really pretty dramatic. And 195 00:12:01.480 --> 00:12:03.960 we see this all the time where tests are done 196 00:12:04.039 --> 00:12:07.159 but they're not explained to the patient. Then he had a PET scan at super 202 00:12:21.240 --> 00:12:25.559 Duper super pooper pooper place, and well, the pet scan 203 00:12:25.720 --> 00:12:29.679 showed lymph nodes in the neck, they were highly suspicious 204 00:12:29.720 --> 00:12:32.759 for cancer, and lymph nodes in the chest and the 205 00:12:32.799 --> 00:12:35.519 media styinum. The media stynum is a part of the 206 00:12:35.519 --> 00:12:38.679 body between the right lung and the left lung where 207 00:12:38.679 --> 00:12:42.039 the esophagus is and where the heart is and other 208 00:12:42.320 --> 00:12:46.399 structures are, and he had lymph nodes there. Remember he 209 00:12:46.480 --> 00:12:53.320 was diagnosed with the recurrent cancer seven months ago, and 210 00:12:53.360 --> 00:12:56.759 then they repeated another PET scan about two months ago, 211 00:12:57.320 --> 00:13:01.559 and everything's getting worse. All all these months, it's five months. 212 00:13:01.679 --> 00:13:04.519 He had no treatment. There was no treatment. He had 213 00:13:04.559 --> 00:13:08.480 recurrent cancer in the tongue, the lymphodes in the right neck, 214 00:13:08.559 --> 00:13:11.240 the lymphodes in the chest. He was never told about 215 00:13:11.240 --> 00:13:14.240 the lymphodes and there was no treatment. Five months go 216 00:13:14.360 --> 00:13:18.080 by with active cancer. They repeat the PET scan and 217 00:13:18.120 --> 00:13:24.960 everything's worse. And now they've started chemotherapy. And the pet scan showed 229 00:13:59.799 --> 00:14:03.600 that the cancers growing in the lymphnodes.
