I've 16 00:01:44.920 --> 00:01:49.359 had a front row seat to watch what has happened the last forty years, 17 00:01:49.519 --> 00:01:55.519 forty plus years, and it's been fascinating to me. And it got me 18 00:01:55.719 --> 00:02:00.959 very curious as well, because this is definitely not the same country that I 19 00:02:00.040 --> 00:02:05.239 moved I grew up in. You know, I'm sixty seven now, we'll 20 00:02:05.280 --> 00:02:08.039 be sixty seven next month. And and when I was a kid growing up 21 00:02:08.080 --> 00:02:12.599 in the sixties, and and you know, in in the seventies, things 22 00:02:12.599 --> 00:02:20.039 were much different, and things are changed. I think back to Barack Obama, 23 00:02:20.120 --> 00:02:23.199 President of Barack Obama in nineteen in two thousand and eight, when he 24 00:02:23.280 --> 00:02:25.919 was being elected, and he said, we're just a few days away from 25 00:02:27.080 --> 00:02:30.680 fundamentally transforming America. Well he kept that promise, and it's not in a 26 00:02:30.719 --> 00:02:37.199 good way. So I want to talk about what happened to America. The 27 00:02:37.280 --> 00:02:43.280 Founding fathers had a dream and they put some things in place. They looked 28 00:02:43.319 --> 00:02:47.599 back over history and they could tell what worked and what didn't work. And 29 00:02:49.719 --> 00:02:58.039 so they contrary to popular opinion these days on the left, they were not 30 00:02:58.159 --> 00:03:01.879 atheist and agnostics is just not true at all. That is a big law. 31 00:03:02.759 --> 00:03:07.360 When you look at what their quotes were to one another, and when 32 00:03:07.400 --> 00:03:10.319 you look at their founding documents, it's very clear that they believe that there 33 00:03:10.360 --> 00:03:16.319 was a creator, no doubt about it. The other thing was they grew 34 00:03:16.439 --> 00:03:22.240 up in a school system that was started in sixteen forty seven in Massachusetts called 35 00:03:22.280 --> 00:03:24.719 the Old Diluter Law. Was the thing that they was the law that they 36 00:03:24.840 --> 00:03:29.960 passed to start a school system. And here's what the law said. It 37 00:03:30.080 --> 00:03:35.560 being the chief project of the Old Diluter Satan to keep men from the knowledge 38 00:03:35.560 --> 00:03:38.960 of the scriptures as in former times, by keeping them in an unknown tongue. 39 00:03:39.039 --> 00:03:44.240 Therefore, in this country, when we have more than fifty families in 40 00:03:44.280 --> 00:03:46.520 an area, we will have a school so that we can teach the children 41 00:03:46.599 --> 00:03:52.400 to read and write, so that they can read the scriptures. And why 42 00:03:52.439 --> 00:03:54.840 they thought it was important to know the scriptures so that the government in the 43 00:03:54.879 --> 00:03:59.800 future would not pass laws that are contrary to God's word. Now, that 44 00:04:00.400 --> 00:04:02.879 was the beginning of the school system, and that was the educational system of 45 00:04:02.919 --> 00:04:10.159 our founding fathers. So when they come along in the next century, and 46 00:04:10.240 --> 00:04:14.879 also we had the Great Awakening, that happened in the seventeen hundreds, and 47 00:04:14.919 --> 00:04:16.959 the founding fathers coming off of that. When you look at some of the 48 00:04:17.000 --> 00:04:24.240 things that they put in place, and some of their quotes, for instance, 49 00:04:25.560 --> 00:04:31.000 they were in the Declaration of Independence, for instance, they were highly 50 00:04:31.519 --> 00:04:38.839 moved by Reverend John Wise. Calvin Coolidge said this in nineteen twenty six on 51 00:04:38.879 --> 00:04:43.920 the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. He said, 52 00:04:44.279 --> 00:04:48.399 these thoughts in the Declaration can be largely be traced back to Reverend John Wise, 53 00:04:48.879 --> 00:04:54.439 who was writing in seventeen ten. He said, every man must acknowledge 54 00:04:54.480 --> 00:05:00.680 equal to equality to every man. Again, the end of all good government 55 00:05:00.800 --> 00:05:06.120 is that the cult that is to cultivate humanity and promote the happiness of all 56 00:05:06.279 --> 00:05:10.680 and the good of every man in all his rights, his life, in 57 00:05:10.720 --> 00:05:14.920 liberty, a state, honor, and so forth. His works were reprinted 58 00:05:14.920 --> 00:05:18.920 in seventeen seventy two and have been declared to have been nothing less than a 59 00:05:18.959 --> 00:05:24.399 textbook for the revolutionary fathers. As you can tell some of the rights that 60 00:05:24.439 --> 00:05:28.199 he was talking about life and liberty, and he goes on and says a 61 00:05:28.279 --> 00:05:31.680 state. That kind of stuff found its way. In other words, into 62 00:05:31.839 --> 00:05:41.959 the Declaration of Independence. So during the Constitutional Convention on June twenty eighth, 63 00:05:42.079 --> 00:05:46.720 seventeen eighty seven, Benjamin Franklin, Now, they were trying to decide we're 64 00:05:46.720 --> 00:05:56.600 going to go to war not And so they weren't arguing because the thirteen colonies 65 00:05:56.600 --> 00:06:00.839 they were not getting along. They all wanted their own they had all had 66 00:06:00.839 --> 00:06:04.279 their own agendas. And after listening to now Benjamin Franklin is in his eighties 67 00:06:04.319 --> 00:06:08.319 at this point, he stands up and he says this, and this was 68 00:06:08.360 --> 00:06:11.600 recorded by two different sources. They recorded his words. This is what he 69 00:06:11.639 --> 00:06:14.399 said. I have lived long, sir, and the longer I live, 70 00:06:14.759 --> 00:06:17.639 the more convincing proose I see of this truth that God governs the affairs of 71 00:06:17.720 --> 00:06:20.519 men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, 72 00:06:21.040 --> 00:06:28.199 is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid. And then so 73 00:06:28.519 --> 00:06:34.680 he called for clergy to come in and that they would start the day of 74 00:06:34.920 --> 00:06:43.199 their deliberations every day with prayer. And that was the beginning of something that 75 00:06:43.800 --> 00:06:47.920 continues on to even this day. They have chaplains in Congress, and every 76 00:06:48.000 --> 00:06:51.839 session of Congress they start with prayer. Now, I find it interesting just 77 00:06:53.040 --> 00:07:00.879 recently Pastor Jack Hibbs from Calvary Chapel in southern California. He was asked by 78 00:07:01.079 --> 00:07:05.639 Speaker Mike Johnson to come and give the prayer to start the session. So 79 00:07:06.920 --> 00:07:11.879 Jack Hibbs says that they give you only one hundred and fifty words, and 80 00:07:11.959 --> 00:07:15.240 you can't say certain words, like you can't say Father, and you can't 81 00:07:15.279 --> 00:07:19.680 say Jesus. Well, he wrote down his prayer and I think it got 82 00:07:19.680 --> 00:07:24.680 approved, but on his way there he got under conviction that it wasn't right. 83 00:07:25.199 --> 00:07:28.680 So he rewrote his prayer, and so when he went to pray, 84 00:07:29.240 --> 00:07:32.079 he started it by saying our God and Father of our Lord and Savior, 85 00:07:32.199 --> 00:07:35.879 Jesus Christ. That's the way he began the prayer. And the atheist in 86 00:07:35.920 --> 00:07:42.079 the room and Congress were outraged. Our constitution was made for a moral and religious people. It is 99 00:08:50.720 --> 00:08:54.519 wholly inadequate for the government of any other. Think about what he's saying. 100 00:08:56.080 --> 00:09:03.440 He's saying that human passions can't be controlled unless they control themselves. People who 101 00:09:05.159 --> 00:09:07.799 look, this is what the Bible says. The heart of man is deceitfully 102 00:09:07.840 --> 00:09:11.799 wicked, beyond all things who can know it. And it says that we're 103 00:09:11.799 --> 00:09:16.240 all sinners. So we need to have we need to be governed on the 104 00:09:16.279 --> 00:09:20.879 inside. Now, how do you do that? I find it interesting every 105 00:09:20.919 --> 00:09:26.039 time there's some kind of mass shooter, a mass shooting somewhere, it's gun 106 00:09:26.159 --> 00:09:31.559 violence. Oh really, are there guns riding around just shooting people randomly? 107 00:09:33.320 --> 00:09:37.759 There are people attached to those guns. Now, the question is what's causing 108 00:09:37.799 --> 00:09:43.639 them to do this? And when anytime the politicians start talking about this, 109 00:09:43.679 --> 00:09:46.440 they want to pass more laws. Now, listen, folks, there are 110 00:09:46.480 --> 00:09:50.679 three hundred laws on the books from now. And here's the thing about a 111 00:09:50.759 --> 00:09:56.639 lawbreaker. They don't obey laws. That's why they called they're called lawbreakers. 112 00:09:56.639 --> 00:09:58.240 So you can pass all the laws you want. That's not going to make 113 00:09:58.279 --> 00:10:01.480 a difference. It's not going to change things. How do you change people. 114 00:10:01.519 --> 00:10:05.679 You got to change their hearts. I'm jumping ahead here, but in nineteen 123 00:10:54.559 --> 00:11:00.000 sixty three, the Supreme Court passed the law because some atheists took a case 124 00:11:00.399 --> 00:11:05.399 before the Supreme Court and said, I don't want my son having to hear 125 00:11:05.440 --> 00:11:11.200 a prayer in school. So the Supreme Court said, yep, that's we 126 00:11:11.240 --> 00:11:15.960 were going to make that unlawful, so we can't have teachers praying in school. 127 00:11:16.200 --> 00:11:18.159 And not only that, And then the following year, and I guess 128 00:11:18.200 --> 00:11:20.200 it was in sixty two and sixty three, they said, you can't have 129 00:11:20.240 --> 00:11:22.559 the Bible in school. You can't teach out of the Bible. Now here's 130 00:11:22.600 --> 00:11:26.440 what I'm going to tell you. And in nineteen sixty three, we 135 00:11:43.840 --> 00:11:48.000 decided as a country that it might be damaging to children to be taught the 136 00:11:48.039 --> 00:11:56.000 Bible. And so since then you can look at our fall from grace basically 137 00:11:56.600 --> 00:12:00.600 because it has been one nightmare after another. I'm going to get into that 138 00:12:00.639 --> 00:12:03.559 in another segment, but I want to go back to here's what George Washington 139 00:12:03.600 --> 00:12:11.240 said in this Farewell address. He said this, religion and morality are indispensable 140 00:12:11.279 --> 00:12:18.440 supports for good government. Reason and experience both forbids to expect that national morality 141 00:12:18.480 --> 00:12:24.639 can prevail an exclusion of religious principle. So what he's saying, what he 142 00:12:24.759 --> 00:12:33.360 said was religion and morality are so those two pillars of are so important did 143 00:12:33.360 --> 00:12:37.960 in holding up our constitutional structure. And then he said this, and I'm 144 00:12:37.960 --> 00:12:41.200 going to repeat it, Reason and experience both forbid is to expect that national 145 00:12:41.240 --> 00:12:46.639 morality can prevail an exclusion of a religious principle. In fact, Hugh Hefner started 317 00:26:41.160 --> 00:26:45.720 Playboy magazine in the late nineteen fifties, and in the nineteen sixties you had 318 00:26:45.759 --> 00:26:48.039 the sexual Revolution. I was living there. I was a kid at the 319 00:26:48.079 --> 00:26:52.079 time, but I remember the sex dragon, rock and roll and all of 320 00:26:52.119 --> 00:26:55.799 that kind of stuff. Free love, they talked about that. This was 321 00:26:55.839 --> 00:27:00.640 before all of the information about venereal diseases came out. But that was what 322 00:27:00.680 --> 00:27:08.039 we went through. So the people still did not repent, they didn't reject 323 00:27:08.039 --> 00:27:11.720 they still rejected God. And so in verses chapter one, and you can 324 00:27:11.759 --> 00:27:15.839 look this up for yourselves, Romans Chapter one, verses twenty six and twenty 325 00:27:15.839 --> 00:27:18.599 seven. And then it says they didn't repent, so God gave them over 326 00:27:18.680 --> 00:27:22.640 to their shameful lusts. So we went from sinful desires to shameful lust. 327 00:27:22.720 --> 00:27:26.039 And then in this chapter, in this in this couple of verses here, 328 00:27:26.839 --> 00:27:37.000 God describes shameful lust as the LGBTQ movement movement. Now, I know that's 329 00:27:37.000 --> 00:27:40.680 going to infuriate some people, but listen, this is what the Bible says, 330 00:27:41.160 --> 00:27:44.440 and it talks about homosexual behavior and that God gave them over to it. 331 00:27:44.480 --> 00:27:48.000 Now he doesn't approve it. He just says he gave him over to 332 00:27:48.039 --> 00:27:52.839 it. He basically gave up on him. In fact, the whole chapter 333 00:27:52.079 --> 00:27:56.440 is in verse eighteen, it says that the wrath of God is being revealed 334 00:27:56.440 --> 00:28:00.799 from heaven. When you read through the chapter, you go, what is 335 00:28:00.839 --> 00:28:07.880 the wrath? Here's the wrath. God basically abandoned America. I remember when I was at the Indianapolis Star, we had 349 00:29:33.039 --> 00:29:38.279 an editorial board meeting talking about, you know what standard is our newspaper going 350 00:29:38.359 --> 00:29:42.839 to take on this now? The Star, I guess, was started found 351 00:29:42.839 --> 00:29:48.480 in nineteen oh three, and we'd always mentioned traditional marriage up until I think 352 00:29:48.480 --> 00:29:52.240 it was twenty fourteen when we decided to change. Now. I thought that 353 00:29:52.240 --> 00:29:57.200 that was not a good idea, especially a lot of our our readers were 354 00:29:57.559 --> 00:30:02.759 gray headed people like me, and I didn't think that they would take kindly 355 00:30:02.839 --> 00:30:06.759 to that. And I think I was right, because there's a lot of 356 00:30:06.799 --> 00:30:11.839 reasons why subscriptions went down, but that didn't help. But getting back to 357 00:30:12.440 --> 00:30:15.680 the next stage, once God gives them over the shameful lust, then the 358 00:30:15.759 --> 00:30:19.920 last thing he says there in Romans chapter one, verses twenty eight through thirty 359 00:30:19.960 --> 00:30:23.400 two. I'm not going to read it, but here's what it starts off 360 00:30:23.440 --> 00:30:29.400 as God gave them over to a praved mind to do things that they should 361 00:30:29.480 --> 00:30:33.359 not ought to do. I was listening to John MacArthur just 374 00:31:37.200 --> 00:31:45.400 recently, Pastor John MacArthur out in California, and he says that he thinks 375 00:31:45.440 --> 00:31:48.720 that a nation that goes through all of these stages is doomed. That's not 376 00:31:48.920 --> 00:31:53.599 very hopeful. I'm still hopeful for America. You know that that America will 377 00:31:53.640 --> 00:32:00.279 repent just like Nineveh did when God told Jonah to go to go talk to 378 00:32:00.359 --> 00:32:05.200 them and warned them that judgment was coming. So I feel like I'm at 379 00:32:05.200 --> 00:32:07.519 the stage I'm an old guy now. I feel like I'm an old stay 380 00:32:07.599 --> 00:32:13.480 in this stage of my life that I'm I'm going to be that guy who 381 00:32:13.559 --> 00:32:19.599 has to tell everybody to wake up because judgment is coming. Thomas Jefferson said 382 00:32:19.599 --> 00:32:22.400 this, and you go to the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, d C. 383 00:32:23.400 --> 00:32:30.400 And on one of the panels it says this that it says God. He 384 00:32:30.480 --> 00:32:36.079 says that I fear for my country when I recognize that God is just and 385 00:32:36.079 --> 00:32:40.920 that his justice will not be silent forever. Now, Thomas Jefferson has thought 386 00:32:40.920 --> 00:32:46.160 it to be a deist, and I don't know, but I thought it 387 00:32:46.200 --> 00:32:50.359 was interesting that he said that. He's said a lot of other things too, 388 00:32:50.880 --> 00:32:54.039 but he was a complicated guy. I think a lot of times when 389 00:32:54.079 --> 00:33:00.440 you read about people in history, I always wonder how many different ages that 390 00:33:00.440 --> 00:33:01.920 they go through. In Genesis chapter twelve, verses, verse three 405 00:34:16.519 --> 00:34:22.159 says that God tells Abraham and his descendants. He's promising his descendants. He 406 00:34:22.159 --> 00:34:24.519 says, I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those 407 00:34:24.559 --> 00:34:31.199 who curse you. And I'm not saying that. I know for sure that 408 00:34:31.639 --> 00:34:36.679 God struck a man dead, but I know that who controls every breath he 409 00:34:36.760 --> 00:34:45.000 takes, and he, you know, was publicly cursing Israel, which God 410 00:34:45.039 --> 00:34:49.400 says you're not supposed to do, and he dropped dead.
