In the twenty twenty three World Series of Poker Main Event, the record shattering twenty twenty three World Series of Poker Main Event, they bagged up the players about what fifteen spots, maybe a few less off the money, something like that. It's pretty close. Fifteen oh seven pay. I think there was around fifteen twenty fifteen twenty one was on the clock, so I think it was. Oh, I take it down a few times, okay, okay, here we go. So tomorrow the bubble will burst. I'm pretty confident in saying that. How you sure? I mean, you never know, right, there's always a possibility that stuff can happen, But no, the bubble will burst tomorrow. I'm guessing sometime in the first level of the day, they did play the complete five levels that were on the structure today they made it all the way to the end, pause that clock. With ten minutes left, they announced two hands, which I'm not so sure that was legit because I've never heard them ever draw two hands in any tournament in the universe. I don't even think they but the two and it was two hands. But you know whatever, we get it. Um. On this episode of the Poker Girl podcast, we had community cards. Do we have community? We had an update? The hats are flying out the door. Tim writes the main events on the bubble. As I just talked about Chance Corneth is cruising with a ton of chips. Tim spoke with Chance. Um. I spoke with who I think is the star of the show, Nick Rigby. But big rig this guy is incredible. I know a lot of people fell in love with him in the twenty twenty one main event. He's back now. Um, all right, So news and happenings. As I mentioned at the top of the show, the twenty twenty three WSP main event is on the bubble. I know it's a few spots away, but you know it's close enough to say that it is on the bubble. They've bagged up overnight. They are coming back for day four and it is going to be absolutely incredible. The Bubble day is one of my favorite days, if not my favorite day in the Wheel series of poker main events, and largely because of what we started on this podcast is the special edition Bubble Pod where we run around the field during the bubble when they're playing hand for hand, talking to anyone that we can get on the mic for short snippets, also just kind of relaying the action as we hear it. This year, we're going to be handing off all of the recordings over to our producer, rich Ryan, and we'll see if he can figure it all out and sort it for us. But I'm a little wired. You bring a lot of pressure on me. Yeah, you've never done this before, so I got to give you the lay of the land. But we'll figure it out. It's a lot of fun. All you need to do. Bring your phone, Okay, you can bring that little microphone that I gave you, and bring an external like a portable charger for your phone because you're gonna need it while you're out there. Okay, yep, that's what you need. I'm a little stressed out. It's fine, it's great. It's a lot of fun, all right. So the Chip leader, I think, although I'm not sure I'm confirmed who it's unconfirmed. Well, they we're gonna have an official Yeah, it's unofficial, but it looks like Antonio Heredia is the leader at least for the chip stacks right now. One million, eight hundred ninety nine thousand in the bag, Chance Corneth not too far behind, one million, eight hundred and eighty seven thousand, pay Lee one million, seven and forty two thousand, and the Big rig himself, the Dirty Diver, the Yanser, Nicholas Rigby one million, seven hundred and nineteen thousand in the bag. It was a day. It was an absolute what are you doing? I canna help myself? What is that? It's the podcast Mike and the Milky Way. Oh my god, the Milky Way. Pay attention to the show. But I think that would be funny. I want to put an attention to the show. All right. So they came back. I don't even know how many players they came back with today. How many did they come back today? Three thousand, five hundred or something like that. Yeah, I had multiple different numbers, but three five seven three was what I'm going with. Well, what's on the report? Well that's where I have the issues because this is the number that is one thing, and then there's a bat amount of people on the last is a different number, of course it is, so why would be lost with that? Anyway? People were flying out the door today, flying, you know, coming into the into the day. You know, no one really thought that, or at least the l likelihood of reaching the money seemed on the lower side. But as the day went on, it was like, wow, we're getting you know, the people are flying out. They getting pretty close, you know, they get down to it. The math didn't work out. They did pause the clock with ten minutes left, as they always do when there's a rejar coming, and they announced that there was two hands left to be played. There was a whole heck of a lot of tanking going on out there. I watched it. We were in the field, we were watching. It happened, but you know a lot of people made it through. I think I watched Fabian Quass tank for four minutes pre flop, which was crazy what happened. He tanked for like four or five minutes. He had two k left. The big line was six K position was he had, I mean he was middle position. I just don't know exactly where he had like three hands until he was going to be in the big line. So it was just before they had announced the yes, this is this is before. So he's tanking, tanking, tanking. He finally puts his final two K and somebody else, I think the next guy raised to twelve, either twelve or thirteen. I think the guy in the big blind or the small blind might have called his well. Anyway, the flap came like King King high, King like five douce or King five three or so some ridiculous and the guy, the first guy bets, he bets the other players out of the hand, and then he like shows Fabby in his hand and like points at him and like he was kind of gesturing like you like he had Queen high, he had Queen Duce high. I'm like a King six three board that could still be good though no, it was not good. Fabian had a seven Queen high because still be No, it was potentially go it was not good. And anyway, Fabian's hand holds up. He wins the pot, so he's got a little bit of life. I mean, still has a lot of work to do, of course, but depending on the redraw that he gets tomorrow four day four, you know, he could uh, he could squeak into the money. You know, but we'll see people certainly were not backing down from playing big pots, you know, even though the money bubble approach. I mean, these people are flying the money. Yeah, I mean it was like unbelievable. I saw some ridiculous bluffs. I saw one guy try and bluff Nick Marchington on a jack three deuce nine ten board. There was a it was jackoharts, three deuce of diamonds, nine o'clubs, ten o'clubs. The guy bets like two hundred k on the river or something. Nick Marchington's in the tank forever. Finally, this gentleman the floor, like the floor people are running all over the place right trying to grab all the sea cards, make sure everything's an order. Blah blah blah. Floor comes like walking by his table. This guy goes four. The floor guy kind of like turns around, but then like keeps walking because the floor guy knows that the player, like he could you could tell that he sends that a player called the floor, and the player again was like flour and so that the floor turns out did you call floor? And so the guy or the floor guy comes over and he's like yes, and the guy's like clock. And and I'm standing next to Tony Dunns, and Tony duns is like, you know, his gangster. When the guy who made the bet calls the clock, I said, yeah, And it's extra gangster that he didn't even tell the dealer. He literally summoned the floor and then told the floor himself that he wanted the clock. Dumb. Yeah, like he didn't say anything to the dealer. He didn't say he didn't say anything to about the clock. Everyone that was watching knew that it was gonna be a clock, but he waved till the floor came over. He was like clock, I love it. So then so the dealer count the flour bank counts down the clock and they do what thirty seconds and then with five seconds left, they count you down. So they're counting him down, you know, I don't know. It's like the flour guy says five as he's gonna start the five second countown and Nick Marchington calls. So the other guy, the guy who gets called um says like, you know, good call, right or first he doesn't say anything for like three seconds and he's a good call. And then he's just sitting there and Nick Marchington is also sitting there, and then and then Marchington turns his hand over right and he's got Jack seven for top hair, and the other guy's like, I gotta nie. And then then he stands up and his cards are still faced down, and I'm like thinking in my head, I'm like, he's gonna table the winner. I'm like, I just have this weird feelings. Then he like picks his hand up and he's like looking at it and I'm like, oh my god, he's gonna like he's gonna like drop down like two pairs somehow, Like this is gonna be so sick. And then he puts his hand on. He had Queen nine, so he didn't have the best of it. But it was just such a funny situation. I mean, these people are just blasting off. I saw Dylan Wiseman want a massive pot, doubled up on a king Jack eight flop, gets it all in with pocket eights against the guy with aces um. That was a wild hand. If he gets like, yeah, you mentioned, everyone's kind of bloasting and we're kind of figetting about the money. They played three days of polka. It's like, okay, now they're just gonna kind of stack off within the rage of making the money. It seems so odd that you would put his what is it, nearly thirty hours of play and just to like, yeah, I mean, I just don't. I don't think people. I don't think people really think like that. It's funny because I feel like people have to for whatever reason. There are listen, there are people who when you get close to the money, they're well aware of the money's coming, right. Yeah, you know. I feel like a lot of people though, they for whatever reason, there's like some mental block in their brain that they can't wrap the head around that they're nearing the money until they hear the loudspeaker and the tournament staff or the head of the supervisor or whatever says we are going to hand for hand player. We are on the bubble like until that hits their head and they hear that. They actually can't get it through their brain that they are close to the money. It's like this thing kept like every time they take the clock down, like we're obviously sweating it because we're trying to film the whole thing, like you know, our production chatters going nuts, and like, you know more, he's like they're not going to hit it then more. He's like, oh, they're getting closed, you know, because every time they updated the clock they dropped it by like ten spots. It was getting ridiculous. Like we're like, um, this is gonna get kind of close. You know. I can speak from first hand experience that sometimes you just gonna have a brain and fought on the bubble of the biggest tournament in the world. Uh, what are we gonna say? Maybe sixty percent of the people silly in and probably very new to Poka most likely, and you know, things happen. You kind of forget way you are, forget what you're doing, and like I said, have a little brain, fot and maybe push all in with a hand. You probably should. I mean it was some of the hands that I saw were wild. Also on the other side of things, you saw, you know, some very good big stack play, you know, Chance Corne did well, Nicholas Rigby did well, Frost Joca did very well, Steven Chidwick, Chris Brewer, like all all these guys who are very very good players and can certainly ramp up the aggression when needed, they were just abusing the bubble. Mickey Douek had a big stack. He was abusing the bubble. Nick Marchington, I think was you know, in there doing his thing as well on the bubble. It was. It was a lot of fun to watch these big stacks with the bubble. And one of those big zacts was Chance Corneth, who's been having himself one hell of a summer. Okay, so it's kind of only fitting that he's now at least in the top five of the chip counts, if not second going into day four. So afterwards you caught up with Chance. Yes, you spoke with him, So let's listen to that interview now, sending him a Chance Corneth, I am pretty sure you're the chip lead at one point eight eighty seven million in chips. Now. I spent the last you know, our walking around you know, the tournament area, and I talked to everyone. They agree that, even chop Is, you know, they're all in. It's about sixty thousand and change and we're on you to make the final decision. What do you say? Maybe next year? All right, maybe maybe next year. I probably stood around here for ten minutes watching you play. It felt like you played every hand. Oh yeah, you must love the bubble and with a massive chip sign. I mean, this was incredible, But bubble started for us at our tablet like eighteen hundred left, and I waited a lot longer to really go for it than I would have otherwise. Maybe because table was so friendly and I don't want to punish it was bad. Or maybe it was just right to fold the dirty diaper. You know, I'm not Riggsby, but for about eleven players away from the money, Okay, we know in you know, many ease of experiences, probably going to take another two hours. Probably would you prefer to continue playing tonight it's already you know, twelve thirty, or are you good with this decision? Coming back tomorrow fresh m It's tricky because like I like everyone at my table and so like continuing to punishing them on the bubble is like, you know, I don't mind punishing other people, but I think that in general it's actually quite bad. You know. It's like, this is a major, major stage in the tournament for people to make these decisions, and all of a sudden, recreational players pros alike are just going in line. You don't know if the guys playing like Riggsby or playing like some tight older gentlemen. And so it's really really dicey when like now people are on this fifteen K pay jump or you know, zero to fifteen k and and they have zero information. So overall, I actually think it's a big negative. I don't really know what else they can do. You're already denied the fifteen way charpen, hundred way charpe for you personally, Chip leader heading in today four, what is the floor that you expect to perform in this event. I don't really think about it that way, Like I just approach every hand. I want to play every hand to the best of my ability, and you know, one hand at the time a time, one day to time. Look, if you're watching the broadcast and now you may have seen a little segment with me and Donny appearing. Jeff came over asked us to be in it. I'm not sure if it made the cut, but I think it did make it deep because Sam Cosby showed it to me. Okay, he needed that help. We helped him out. Then, as people are bagging up, I'm standing next to Chance watching waiting, and I see Jeff Platt coming over there in his little expressed boys suit and says, I'm going to interview Chance, I'm going to vulture your interview, and just took it. Just took all my glory of interviewing the what I thought was the chip leader at the time. What are you gonna do? Man? Production wins out. Even though we're kind of part of production, they still be Jeff just tossed me to the side like a rag. I mean, it is what it is, you know, m But you got it in there anyway. Yeah, and you were able to Chance Jeff actually talk to me, talk to another person, took seven selfies with people that he was playing with, all with a smile on his face. It's tricky. So you know, we're out there while these players are bagging trying to find some people to get some interviews. The way that the Horseshoe specifically is set up, it doesn't help what we're trying to do. And the reason why I say that is because it's a traffic jam trying to get out of this place. Yes, you know, it's like I would I would. I would like in it too. When you're at a sporting event and everyone leaves a sporting man at the same time, and everyone's stuck in the parking garage, like that's basically what it's like. And you have to funnel from the event center at Horseshoe. You have to funnel down a relatively narrow hallway. I mean it's not super narrow, but it's compared to like the one over at Paris, and it's like everyone has to go through the same hallway. It's not it's not what it was at the Rio. It's probably half the width of the Rio right about the way and a third of the high Well, yeah, the height is very low, you know, so anyway, but you all have to go out that way the other. You know, at the Rio, you all kind of went out and like it's kind of was spread out. You went into the parking lot everyone there was like two different ways to get in and out. It was multiple, Yeah, it was. It was kind of spread out. Um Here, it's like basically one way in, one way out type of situation. Um So everyone like is like trying to bag up their chips as fast as possible, trying to get out there. You see people, you know, we talked about it on yesterday show. You see people that you know, they just leave early. They don't play the last couple of hands, so they can beat all the traffic, so it's not conducive for us trying to grab players and keep them from an extra draft five or ten minutes, because you know they don't want to. But on the flip side of that, you know Chance is obviously really good at that. You know, he enjoys it and he you know, does take time out of his day, and we appreciate that. What I was gonna lead into is that if that was me and I was like a Chance Cornis, I mean, Chance might not need it, but because he already is, you know, known in the industry, known to poker fans around the world, et cetera. But this is like your moment, you know, they could be your moment that this tournament we see it every single year. Okay, you see chip leaders on day three, Day four, Day five, they ultimately like, don't crack the top twenty seven because this tournament is such a beast. There's so many obstacles. Everything can you know, go you know, left, right, up, down, sideways like it can just fall apart. So while you're in the spotlight, you might as well take advantage of it. Do all the interviews that you can, um, you know, take the selfies, all that sort of stuff. Take the photos, talk to Jeff Platt on camera, like you know everything right, Like just do it while you can soak it up because you don't know how long it'll last in this thing. A couple hands go your go, you know, not your way, and you're just you know, you're on the sidelines watching. Kind of one person who I feel like kind of caught some of that, uh at Spark a couple of years ago, Nick Rigby, the Yinzer out of Pittsburgh, the dirty guy, Big himself, the Big rig I mean, this guy is like he's he's moved up my favorite poker players to watch list so damn fast. Yeah, he's amazing. And then I spoke with him after play today he bagged one million, seven hundred nineteen thousand. I mean he's like he knows that, like he's like a bit of a blaster, but he just like he doesn't care, like you know, he's like, this is this is how I play, this is what I do. I mean, it's awesome what I love about Rigby. Day one day finished with four hundred and eight thousand. Day two ABC second in chips with eight seventy nine. Day three unconfirmed. Maybe he's somewhere in the top five, but one point seven million in chips. Yeah, and he's just Chipichim said, like, you know, he got out to one point four then he got down to nine hundred, and then he got back up to what like he's all over them over the place. He's like, there was a guy that started three better me, Like, I mean, listen, well, I'll just play the interview. You guys into it. I'm here at the end of day three. Nicholas Rigby, how did you do today? I came out of the gates hot. I started the day with just over nine hundred k. I came right out and got up to one point four million. Was feeling pretty good. There was a player at my table that proved to be a little bit difficult. He was three better me, light with some smaller pocket pairs, and we battled for you know, better end of four or five hours there towards the end, and I got the best of him at the end. I mean he's still sitting probably in six hundred thousand, but he shot up over million at one point, and I mean we were just swinging back and forth. We might as well have been playing heads up honestly. So I got in some trouble. I went dropped down from the one point four to nine. I lost a huge hand where he peeled on it with a gutshot against me and hit it and I paid him off. I lost like four hundred thousand, So I dropped down like five hundred and twenty k at a point in time, and I made a couple of big spots where I peeled, peeled, hit a guy, are on someone flop two's foot one hand, and next thing you know is right back over a million. And then just apply the pressure in this last hour, who got up over one point seven? So you're smiling there as you're telling me about your day. You obviously must love playing the style that you do. Do you ever worry that it's gonna backfire against you? Or are you just really confident in how you play? I mean, I'm confident in how I play. It could definitely be volatile at times when you're sitting there trying to push the issue, but I mean it needs to be done with the big stack, and let's everyone dreams about playing with a big stack. It should be the easiest way to play. But you're just kind of sick once you take those dips. So I'm glad I could backback, bounce back at the end. There, What have you learned from the last run you had back in twenty twenty one that you're taking to this run? Now, just take a couple more breasts and think about some hands. These guys don't want to bluff me. I mean, I've caught him in spots and first hand back after dinner break on day six a year and a half ago, was sick for me. Came back out of your slow played aces. I flopped queen high flush and he's got the ace of hearts and just peels off hearts and I just I pay him off like about third of my stack, just like mistakes like that. Like he's not bluffing in those types of spots. So it's just kind of being like more consciences and these different spots and whether or not you know, tournament chips are valuable. I don't think that these guys want to sit there and risk bluffing a madman such as myself. So and I think after the first hand after dinner break tomorrow, if I do make it that far, one won't find me back immediately after dinner break because today I also flopped trip kings with a ten kicker and some guy flopped five full kings against me, So first hand after dinner break is not for me. How many how many diapers were dished out today? I think I won with it three times and the fourth time it was a really odd limp. The hijack to my immediate right, there was someone that was sitting short stack for quite a while and I opened a five X and the cut off and the uh, the button elected to jam for jam for about eleven big So I'm already rolling my eyes where I know I'm gonna have to call the diaper off, probably drawing near dead, but the price would probably be right. Uh. The odd limp, which was the only limp of the day, alexa shove for about two hundred thousand, So that makes my decision pretty easy where I fold the diaper. The holdings of the limper were aces, the button were nines, The flop was eight seven deuce, the turn was the three, and the river was the three. So that was a little deflating to watch that run out. But you know, you can't fold the hand that you're made for. Yeah, that's because that's karma. Just coming back to bite in the ass. So h no, but you know I don't. I'm not gonna call it the diaper against taces so sick to see. I think that happened last year as well, where I folded it and I was up would be up against kings and as king in the flow us three or three twos. I mean, they're gonna have that. But as long as you're making the right folds, then you can't dwell on stuff like that. I'm gonna trying to talk to him, maybe not every day, but maybe every other day something like that, because he's just he's a treat. If he keeps doubling up every day, we're gonna have to speak to him. He plays like an animal. Okay, he speaks very well. He loves it. He's well aware of the situation. Like I just I love it. I'm entertained by him. What's the story exactly? Um, I mean he's just from Pittsburgh. I think he's actually a dealer. Um. And then you know, plays poker on the side, takes some shots. I think he's a bit of a you know, a gambler in a lot of ways, Like he seems like a type of guy or from everything that I've heard, you know, he kind of saves up some money plays him, takes some big shots in some cash games, some tournaments like the ten thousand dollars main events, stuff like that, and you know, tries to spin it. Right. That's great. That's how to get him in the PGT. I think that's the most important question. How do we get him in a shittio doesn't necessarily feel like a guy who I mean, he needs cash for a million or more, That's what I'm saying. So he needs to come in eighth place. Well, I feel like I feel like, you know, not the PGT. We need to get him on like No Gam in the Future, yeah, poker, like you know, get him on the cash game shows, especially if he is a I mean I've heard he likes to play the cash games in the in the Fitzburgh area. So if he's a cash guy, like, I mean, let's go, let's get him in some of those shows, right. I mean, could you imagine Rigby on No gaml in the Future, Jeff Platon, Brett Hanks calling it. He's out there messing around that that wheel every second, but that that show, Like, you know, we could make we could make the show like instead of having seven deuce on the on the Wheel of Pain, yeah, we could have the dirty diaper on there. You know, I'm all in on this side of this is the greatest idea you've ever had. We'll build a whole damn show around Nick Rigby. I mean, this has to happen, you know, just kind of looking around the room. Some other notables who have bagged up chips. Stephen Chidwick, I think he bagged seven figures stack, Yeah, one point one zero six million. You had Yury Zeveleski, Maurice Hawkins, Jason Somerville, Dylan Wiseman, Julian Martini, Nick Guaganty, Alex Foxon, James Ops, Patrick Antonius, Bert Traun, Elkie Grosspellier, Andrew Neimi, Alexandra Botez, Ryan Garcia, the Boxer, Ben Lamb, and Jason Mercier all bagging chips. You also had Joe Hasham, former Manhiman Champion, as Is, Johnny Chant, Chris Moneymaker, Joe Kata, and Jamie Gold. So all those former champs are still in kind of cool to see Jamie Gold still in the mix. Of course, this WSP main event set the record for the largest World Series of Poker main event ever, breaking the two thousand and six Wman Events record, and that was the year that Jamie Gold famously won it. All notable eliminations including some champions two fall, Ryan Reese, Joe mckeann and Damien Salis. And I'll say Asterick Barry Showman. He won Europe. He didn't win the one champ. He didn't win the one here. M Sean deeb also busted, Bart Hanson, Martin Zamani, JC Tran, Randy Ohel, George Holmes, Elie Elezra, Todd Brunson, Tom Dwan who busted on the main feature table under the bright lights and cameras, Mike Madison, Robert Ms, Rocky David, the gun slinger back and you had to do it, I did. You had to do it, of course, Donny Peter, we got to talk about it. I had to put you in it. Just brutal. We want to talk about we wanted let's talk about the day we started with eighty two thousand. I started with eighty two thousand. He ran it up. I was in a perfect seat. I was in the corner of the room. It was cold over there. There was no tables behind me. I was in my favorite seat at the table. You were on the back wall. Was literally on the back wall. It was the bet. It was honestly the best seat in the whole house. I'm not joking. Yeah, that seat that I had, the absolute top top seat in the whole house. So I'm feeling good. Um. I got to be very active early, which was a very different than the first two days and I had when I was just didn't have any hands, didn't really have any spots, so I had to be very selective and practice a whole crap ton of patients. But this one, UM, I had some good hands to start. I had some good spots early on, so I was very active early. Immediately went from eighty two to one hundred and twenty or so. I end up losing one pot to go back under a hundred. When I three bet A's Queen Middle Physician opened, I threw about the button. Um it came king high on the flop. I got check called on the flop and then I shut it down after that, but I did find a double do that same guy. I opened the LoJack with pocket sevens. He three bet from the big blind. I decided I had I think thirty two or thirty three bigs at the time. I decided to put it in let's go. I said, you know what, let's go. I'm not here to just play like a giant baby, so we're gonna put this in here. And for whatever reason after after I had three bet that guy and watching him play early on, I got the sense that he was going to take the approach of like not letting himself get bullied in a way, you know, so like he might three bet a little bit lighter. I did see him like three bet at ten nine off at one point, like he played some weird hands. He happened to have ace king this time he had ace king off, so he calls it off. But the seventh hold, baby, because we win flips, that's what we do. It was my fourth time all in the tournament and I won. I had won all of them so far, so feeling good. It was really weird because the money went in and I was like, I just I like the board ran out and I like didn't even feel like I was like, I'm just gonna win this hand, Like I just that I was gonna win some confident. Yeah, it was I don't know it was just weird. You just sometimes you know you feel that way, and then other times you feel the opposite, and then you know they just smack you right away. You're just like of course, you know, of course, like so whatever. Um. So I find that double up, Um, then I want another nice hand with a flush. This hand was a fun one. Guy opens from the low jack. I call on the button with queen jack of clubs. I was debating between three betting or just calling. I settled on just calling, opting to play in position against him. He was a newer player at the table, so I didn't really have any information on him. You know, this might have been like his third or fourth hand or something like that at the table. Big blind also came along. It came eight five four m the five and the four were clubs. I think it was the eight hearts or eighty diamonds and I so I have two overs to the board and the queen high flush draw. It checks around. The turn is a three. UM. I didn't want to I didn't want to bet the flop in position because I thought there would be a good chance that this could connect with the big blinds range, and I didn't want to get check raised, and then you know, not that I can. I can still obviously play my hand, but it just makes it a little bit more trickier. I have to build a pole with a cleanie flush tracks of us. So I just opted to check back on the flop three. On the turn blank three, I think it was the three of spades, Big blind leads for six K. Low jack calls. I call rivers a seven of clubs, so it's eight five four three seven, and there's the flush shock comes in, so I make my flush. It checks to me there's about thirty eight thousand in the pots something like that. I bet thirty four thousand, five hundred. Big blindfold Lowjack tanks for a while. He starts talking about like what sixes I can have? You know, do you have pocket six? Is this this and this whatever? He eventually calls boom, chip up over two hundred K with that hand. So I go into the break with a little over two hundred thousand. So I'm feeling great. Start with eighty two. I'm just like I'm like this is this is like finally it's all coming together. I get to play some hands. I actually get to get involved, like you know, things are working out for me. I felt I felt great. I felt in control of the table. Like you know, you know, when you like start playing hands, you start winning, you feel like the table like knows that you're the captain. Yeah, in a way, like not that I was like, because there was a couple of the players that were also getting involved, but we had been staying out of each other's way so far. But but yeah, you know, and like people kind of like they back down to you in some spots, you know, and it might just be like this guy's winning every hand, I'm just not going to kind of mess with them type of stuff. Speaking of we get back. So I got I got like two hundred and one thousand or something, coming back to fifteen hundred three thousand, and I play a hand against this guy, the guy who doubled me up at the Ace King. When I had the sevens, I opened in the low jack with the king deuce of diamonds. This tells you how good I'm feeling, because I'm now I'm opening the king deuce of diamonds because I just don't care anymore. No I care, But like we're ramping up the aggression. He calls out of the big blind it comes even four three with one diamond, the three of diamonds. He checks. I checked back. The turn is the ace of diamonds, which is like the best card for me in the world. I turn a ton of equity with a flush draw, and not only is it a flush draw, I have the nut flush straw. I also turn a straight draw and I can also represent the ace, so it's like the greatest card for me. He checks. I bet eight thousand. He check raises me to twenty thousand. So I'm like, okay, like I'm calling I'm never folding whatever I call river Jack of diamonds, just like the gin card. I'm like, this is let's go. I hope you have like you know, I mean, I hope he has like five six, Like that's the best hand for him to have. You know, he flopped the straight I'm thinking maybe he's got some sort of two pair as well. Whatever he leads for twenty two thousand and he had on the river, he had about one hundred and thirty thousand, hundred and thirty five thousand. Maybe there are a lot of times in this specific situation where I will just move all in a bit of like an overbet in away. I thought about that for a while, and I decided that I'm going to raise to a smaller amount than all in because I think that players in the basic main event value their tournament life so much, and I want to be sure that I'm called here, so I want to try and find some kind of what's like maximum value. So I sized it where I felt like, if he was like kind of um on the fence about calling, he could call and be fine losing and still feel healthy if that makes sense to you. Ye, like he'd still have like, you know, fifteen twenty big blinds and it wouldn't be the worst of it. So I made he made it. He bet twenty two, I made seventy eight. He'd snap called, So now I'm like, fuck kind of stuff. He had pocket three, he flop bottom set, so I could have probably like yellow at it all and got the call. But obviously I don't know that he has kind of yeah for him for sure. So yeah, so that puts me over three hundred thousand. So now I have like three, three or nine, and I think on that hand, there's another hand shortly thereafter that where I'm in the big blind. It's a raise actually from that guy. That guy raises the guy next to him calls, I have pocket nines in the big lines, and I just decided to three bet and I'm going to get it in against the opener. The other guy might be a little bit tricky if he back raises off to make a decision. They both end up fulling instant. I'm moved to like three twenty five. I'm like, I'm like, holy crap, I have fucking I got one hundred and eight big mines in the fucking main event. Day three, I'm like, let's go, Like, let's absolutely go. So I feel amazing, I feel super locked in. Everything's working out. I'm in control the situations like this is like, this is what it's supposed to be about. This is how it's supposed to work out. I had to deal with all the crap on the first two days. Now I feel just absolutely great, awesome. Then gentleman next to me, older man named Gary. He's from Arkansas. He offered me his hotel room here. That was a little bit weird, not gonna lie it, but he also complimented me on my commentary, which was very cool. Thank you very much, Gary, Thanks Glary. I don't like the way that this hand resulted. He opens under the gun. Was this before the hand? When he said this stuff the hotel, all this stuff was before the hand. Okay, so he opens under the gun to seven k I look down next to act two kings. I'm like, oh my gosh, this is great. I've been pretty active, Like this is perfect. Now. The tricky spot about this situation is that he's under the gun. I'm plus one, so we're both super early so and he was very tight. Yeah, okay, so his open is super strong, so if I three bet him, it's going to be extra strong. But I'm like, you know what. One of the things that I kind of like, I actually have a written down in my notes. I have a few rules that I go over every time before I play a poker tournament. One of them is that it's like, sometimes just play your value hands. Just face up for value, and don't worry about like randomizing and all this sort of stuff, because it just doesn't matter a ton at the end of the day. Like, yes, if I'm showing up to the Poker Girl studio day in and day out for all of these PGT majors, yeah, then I'm gonna need to do some different things, like I'm gonna need to call sometimes in position. I'm gonna need to do different sizings, like all this sort of stuff. This field against you know, more random players that you've never played again with against before. It's also very early in the day, so we don't have a ton of experience playing with each other on this day yet. So I'm just like, whatever, it doesn't matter if this is face up. This is face up. So I make he makes it seven K, I make it eighteen K, folds back to him, he puts his money in eight K. I'd beat him into the pot. He's got Jack's rivers a jacket. I'm just like, fuck God, Like whatever, it doesn't matter. I'd got up to three twenty after I like going through the blinds once and then losing this pot. I'm on like two twenty five. I'm like, whatever, I start up with the eighty two, Like, I still got two twenty five. This is amazing, no big deal, just a small bump in the road. Then there's a spot where it folds to me on the button. I have ace five of hearts. This hand, I'll admit, is a mistake. I messed it up. I raised the button big bund three bets. I opt to four bet, he five bet jams, I fold. I should have just called in position. We were we were deep enough that I can just play ace five hearts in position against him. That's fine. I don't need to four beet it in my hand like if he's if he's I thought he was like a good player, which is why I thought he might be messy with me, and I ultimately went with the four bets. I should just call in position there, play a pot in position against him. My hand is still pretty good, has some value. You know, he could be getting out of line. I also know that, like I knew when I four bet that he can he has a stack to five bet jam. I mean it's it's like that's a good thing. I just didn't know if he would do that. I mean, listen, he probably just had a value hand. I mean that's normally what people do here. So so yeah, so anyway, I had I folded that hand, so whatever, So UM, a little bit of a mistake there, but whatever, not a big deal um for that specific hand. But then I just kept like losing every hand that I played, you know, opening up either getting three bets um or you know, defending from the blinds or not hitting flops, stuff like that, you know, being played back at. So stuff just started going the other way, and it was just kind of just after that hand, it was like small pots, smallpots, smallpots. So I peaked at like three twenty five in this level and I go into the break at one hundred and eight thousand. I'm just like, man, come on, Like I felt like I had it and now I don't have it. But end of the day, I still have more than what I started with. So it's like whatever, you know, I mean, you know, no big deal. I tried to get six hundred, didn't work out, you know, and now we still got more than what we started with. No big deal. So we come back to two K, four K, and I had gone through the blinds a couple of times, you know, nothing big I have. Like I think I had like eighty nine thousand or ninety thousand something like that, or no, I had more five hundred exactly. Because this I'm about to be all in against the player and he has he had exactly ninety thousand. I remember he opens from the hijack to eight thousand min rays. I'm in the small blind and I move all in for you know, twenty four and a half big blinds or whatever big blindfolds. This was the guy that when I had the Queen Jack of Clubs and I made that flush, he called it off against me. So he's like thinking and he's like when I had the Queen Jack clubs, he was talking out loud on the riverbed, like thinking about calling me, and he was saying, like, you know, what types of sixes do you have? He wasn't talking to me, he was just talking out loud. Yeah. Here he was doing the same thing. He started talking all He's like, oh, you could have you know, a's five, this and that, like whatever. Then he calls he's got King Queen off. I'm like, okay, whatever, it's got a hold, no big deal. I have the eight of Spades in my hand. I have the eight of spades, eight a hearts. It comes King of Spades, eight of clubs, deuce of Spades. I don't win the hand. I'm just like because it comes spade spade and I just lose to a flush, and I'm just like really like, really this is not the way, Like this is what's gonna like, you know, so I have eighty five hundred left at the pay off is ninety CAI have eighty five hundred left. Two hands later, I get out of somebody or Brett Apter raises from the low jack seed. He makes it a k I go all in for eighty five hundred, Button re raises to twenty six k Apter gets out of the way. I have king jack off versus the other guy's ace seven of clubs comes like eight seven five with two clubs. So I'm just like, you know, with the worst flop universe. I mean, I still have two overs, but I can't. I can't hit any of them that are clubs. Now bricks out and I'm out of the tournament. So yeah, So that was my day. So it was just it sucked. I mean it was brutal. I played two and a half days of poker in this tournament. I had to practice the most insane patients ever for both of the two days before this one. Today off to an amazing start, like things are going so well, Like I'm just like, this is this is amazing, this is how it's going to be in these they ripped it all from me. Yeah. In the words of our friend Jeff Platt, I'll just go fuck myself now because that's what happened today. It was unbelievable. I'm like a once I lost with those Kings. It was just downhill. So it's just brutal, you know, you just play like just brutal. It's brutal, it really is. So yeah, I had fun today, but overall overall, you know, I thought I played super well throughout the entire turn. The first two days were really a test of just patience. If you guys heard yesterday's podcast episode when I talked to Cliff Josephye after play, you know, I asked him about like, what's like the best tip for this tournament or where I can't remember how I phrases exactly, but he said, it's patience. And over the years, I know that it's patients. Like it's patients that you see so many times. These people come into this tournament and they're very good players, but they try and play every hand, you know, I mean, listen, Nick Griegy tries to play every hand. Yes, okay, but sometimes it worked out. Sometimes it doesn't right, you know, live by the door or die by the sword type of thing. But you can be very patient and I was very patient on the first two days, and I really battled and I fought hard. In both of those days. I had twenty five thousand with thirty minutes to go in the day, and I bagged a lot. I bagged more than starting on the first day. I mean not a lot, but a lot more than I had. I had bagged more than starting on the first day, and I bagged eighty two thousand on the second day. So I felt really good. So I felt like the way that today started, it was like everything's turning like this is like, yes, okay, now I'm gonna hit my rush. The heat's coming, Like, let's go. The heat has happened, Like I'm gonna, like, you know, I'm gonna go into dinner break with a million. This is gonna be amazing. I can't wait. But you know, things just slid the other way. But that's the game. The game is the game. Um, as Monoir has always said to me, my good friend Monoir, he said, um, the game will always humble you. It just always will. That's what it does. Poker is a sick game that we play, and sometimes it doesn't work out from you and we'll just get them next to you. That's right, that's right. You didn't want twelve one point one million Fest prize. You want the twelve point two million Fest prize next. Yeah, great, whatever, No, But I mean, overall, looking back on it, I think I'm happy. You know, obviously you're you're a you know, frustrator enough set with um how it ends, because you feel like you're really started to gain momentum and then it just all goes away. Yeah, obviously, you know, all of that is heightened by the fact that this is the greatest tournament in the world. So like having that rush happened today and then having it just taken away from me as soon as it was given to you. It hurts. It's painful, Like it's not I'm not gonna not say that it's not you know, like I know, like you know a lot of people are like, you know, it's it's whatever. It's another tournament, and you get used to it whatever. Like I don't know if I would I'll ever get used to it in this specific tournament. That said, in the moment, you know, you just play right, felt really good. Like both days just like if I bust, I bust, you know, like things aren't going to affect me. I just have to play my game and do whatever. Like if like when I forbat jam with those sevens, if he fucking just snaps me off with two kings here, so be it. I gotta go with my gut here and do do what I want I think I can do. I'm excited to play more poker. I'm excited to do more comments anything else you're gonna play this world. So it's funny. I saw, if you remember the pre one of the PREWSP shows, Ryan Brown, who I said to look out for. Who I don't know how he bagged. I don't know if he's on the list anywhere. But he had a ton of chips. When I walked by him, he said he's had a shit summer. But I said, listen, this is the one you get, even this is the one, if there was one, this is it. Okay, this is the one you want. So he has a ton of chips, and he asked me, he said, you know, are you gonna you're gonna play anymore? I said, man, I said, I can't fathom like grinding the WSP main event busting and then like hopping in like seven seven. I just can't do it. Like I just can't you know, nothing against the people that do that, Like you're just I guess better than me. Like to me, this is like it's the finale in a way. Also, like we talk about it with Work, it used to be like work with the main event was the finale, and it was like it was Now it's you have all these side events and stuff going on to In a way, it's like, wait, I have to like cover more things when even though the main event is like it should only be the main event, right, you know, Like I mean I get it from a business perspective and all that sort of stuff, having all the post lums and whatnot, Like I totally get it, but I'm just saying mentally, you're like, wait, there's this other stuff, you know, Like I just you know, for me, it's like you you build up to all this stuff in the summer um, at least for me playing wise, you know, you play some preliminary Bracelet events blah blah blah, and then you know it culminates with playing the worst event and you know, if it works out or if it doesn't work out, then that's it for my summer. The chair all these chairs are stacked on top of each other so they can vacuum the area and they're on a heads up break over there. So there are two players remaining from the field of one thousand, two hundred and fourteen. The two players are Thomas Skaggs and David who they're playing for one hundred and seventy one thousand, seven hundred and forty two dollars. Some notable eliminations. You had Noah Schwartz busting in eighth place. You had Jeff Madson finishing in twelfth. I think before you had I think Nigrani finished with thirty first. I was sixteen seventeen, So you know a few names, you know, firing away and making some deep runs in this ultimately falling short. But right now Thomas Skaggs versus David Who, and we'll we'll get back to talking about the winner of this one on the next episode once they wrap up, and we're going to continue on here with a huge field in the seven hundred and seventy seven dollars Lucky sevens noleman hold them. The Events Center they think to change these Events Center Grand Ballroom Paris, So Grand ball Room and the event center on the horseshoe side were full, and they had some tables over in Paris. One dty one tables. Yeah, one hundred forty one tables. No way, no way, it was not one hundred forty Paris. Yes, I do it sided at a table one and the last table we've been played was one forty one. No, what was a forty one? No, there's no way one hundred and forty one tables? What do you what do you want want to say? You think I'm I'm lying to Maybe maybe I'm just insane? Paris table one. That seems like all the way down to Paris table one, I lied one forty four. Okay, so I was right, I mean I was right. You're lucky you didn't bet on it. What do you mean you will right that it wasn't one forty one. I can't believe there was that many tables over Yes, I thought there was a good amount of tables, but I didn't think it was that it was a lot. Well, okay, Well, anyway, the players that were over there and then came over here, you know, all they were talking about was how big this line was for the biggest line of the sum of It town for registration to get into this final flight of the Lucky Sevens tournaments UM. Day one A of that tournament had fourteen hundred and seventy entries. Day one B had two thousand, three hundred and eighty six, and then today had three thousand, four hundred and forty four, which doesn't seem that crazy if they didn't let people in for a while, so that's probably delay it too. They delayed it, they didn't let anyone register, all seat sit down. It's just similar event. They need a big venue. I'm I'm not joking, like, yeah, I mean, that's like one of those good problems to have. But like you got to solve the problem because I mean it's not also just venue size, it's it would definitely a dealer availability. Yeah, it didn't have enough. You might be able to, I don't know if solve is the right word, maybe alleviate some of the pains with you're you're gonna have to just look at the schedule and be like, okay, like we can't have this going on this day. You know, like you're really gonna need to space things out a little bit more which I'm you know, I'm guessing that that's like probably one of the things on the top of the mind. Um, because there were you know, for the mini main event when this happened. You know, Wsity officials were literally walking through the line saying like, hey, we're terribly sorry. You know, we're not gonna be able to seach you, so you can wait in the line and try to luck out or you know, I'm sorry, but you can just continue on with your day because you're not going to get a seat. Um. And I would I would guess that that's not a fun conversation you want to be having. You don't want to be walking through the line saying like, hey, we can't seach you. Also, that's taking money out of your pocket as the business. So I don't know if they can find a bigger venue. I don't know if they can like knock out one of these walls. And I don't think they're gonna move venues anytime soon. But there's definitely ways to potentially add some tables, especially here in the events center. Well I don't know about that. I mean a lot of the tables and like the way that they're laid out. Ultimately comes down to the fire marshal. Yes, that is true, but also you know, it's production. If you've been to these these venues, you'll be like, oh, well there's this space here, we can fit four tables, or we can do this, and then they'll be like, yeah, but the fire marshal, you can't do that. You literally can't do that. It's illegal, which next to us to some you know, emergency excess, so we can't block those with tables, you know. So yeah, you're one hundred center right there. I mean, it's just it's it's tricky. I mean, it's obviously a good thing that the attendance is so large. Yeah, you know that people want to come out and play these events and they're so big, you know, but yeah, at some point, like you're going to have capacity issues. You know, we have the same thing in the studio at times. You know, it's great to hit the new capacity, but then you're like, um, well now we got to figure out how to solve the capacity problem. But there's a simple solution here. What's up? Twelve handed? Put him on the root, twelve handed, no limit, hold him poka tonaments of the w Is there a basement here? Is there a Bosio's. Is there a bowling alley that we can build? Is just a tent? We used to have Fieri's Flavor Town, Bro, it's so hot outside. We're not the tent outside, so you have tents out there instead. It's Fieri's. I'm in Fieris Flavor toown, Flavor Toown three. I would love to play at Guy Fieri's Flavortown, Baby, I'm in. I mean, I don't know what you do. I mean, it's I think it's simple. I think you maybe have to use the poker room. You know, you may have to clear some space out in front of the poker room, like when we played that Sucker event. But even if they did that, yeah, like I said, we're still What's so hard about that is that that area is, you know, in the main casino area, and you have to walk through it to go from the parish to the horseshoes side or vice versa. That area of like the casino tables, because if they put poker tables there, they to take out casino tables. That place is bumping every ninth. It's packed out there like it's a package. There's people playing roulette, craps, whatever, the hell and it's jam packed. I mean, people are having a blast. So I'm like, so good luck trying to sell some casino executives on that for some poker tables. And you remember the very first time you met Ram Komori came here, it was like November of twenty twenty one, and we all went to the poker room and we went up those escalators at the top because that's where we thought that this was going to be. It was like one of those theaters that's where they actually I think ran one of the circuit events one year here. Maybe that is available. I don't know how busy that some of those theaters are during the summer, but that could potentially be as But like, hey, by the way, the Millionaire Maker is in the I know it's not called the Jubilee Theater, but whatever theater that is, you know, the stuff like that. I don't know if those kind of options, yeah, it's tricky. Um, it's gonna be something they need to solve for sure. But anyway, overall, seventy three hundred entries you know, give or take, in the seven seven seven events, um, there's about three hundred three twenty five remaining who's got some stacks on that one. He used to always be in this like it wasn't a private game, but it kind of was a private game, like in the back playing against this guy known as mwahaha because because of his laugh and like they would be playing heads up three handed, four handed, like super shorthanded, just with like you know, I don't know if they're playing five, ten, ten, twenty five whatever, but he would always be battling in that game. I think one day he had like, you know, thirty kne front of him, like just crazy shit, something you would never see at Greenvilley Ranch. But that's what happened there. But anyway, some players with chips we have I mentioned Alex Livingston tenth in chips A silent Sneaky Player of the Year candidate Michael Rodriguez. Matigus hasn't won yet, not yet. He's still gotta He's still got to sweat it out. But Michael Rodriguez he has one point four million and the two thousand and seven world champion, and Jerry Yang himself sixty first and chips with one point three five million. Okay, so it's gonna be moving day on day two on Monday, playing down to probably the final table where the winner will take home seven hundred and seventy seven thousand and seven hundred seventy seven dollars seventy seven cents as well. John John Reridden bags some chips. It's gonna be a fun one to watch that. I think we also mentioned yesterday that this was played seven handed. I don't believe it actually is. I think we just assume that. No, it is played seven handed for sure? Are you sure someone told me we were wrong. I have not been over there and I look just looked at the struct shot and there is nothing seven handed right there. Maybe they'll play maybe today, Yeah, just like today event is played nine handeds. You might have to go ten handed if capacity, you know, like in get in the clossus or the gladdiear or whatever like, you know, you have to do that if you want to see people. Um, but yeah, no, but this is a yeah, okay, yeah, exactly, come on. So what's coming up? We have Day four the Man Event. Of course, we got Day four the Device mand Vent. That's gonna be a fun one. Yeah, it's like, you know, it's so crazy. Anyway, So this this event has a has a charity aspect to it. Um. So of that ten thousand, five hundred dollars buying, ninety seven hundred dollars goes into the prize pool, two hundred dollars goes to charity. Six hundred dollars is for you know, the rake and the fees and all that sort of stuff. Day one A had two hundred and sixty five entries. There are three starting flights, I believe, and you can re enter once per flight. Okay, so six total entries if you want to do that, eighty five players. I think that's right, Um, eighty five players. And look who's leading the way Stephen's song. He's at the wrong venue. He's at the wrong venue. Do we get twenty five? I think we need to call up Daniel and ask if we can make a you know, an appeal to the is. And I'm honestly, you know, go in a bowlot to money, Stephen and come back on over here and blast some more stuff. That's what I want you to do. So yeah, So it looks like Stephen's song is the chip leader four hundred. He's got a massive chip lead. He's if he wins, is he misses the fifty four hundreds, he has four hundred six thousand, five hundred and chips, and the next closest is Alex Kolev with three hundred and six thousand. Next crushing Ryan Laplant bagged two hundred and seventy one thousand, Brian Altman two hundred and twenty nine thousand and five hundred. I feel like I haven't seen Brian Altman all summer. Where has he been? Masashi Oya Oya who I'm pretty sure it was in the main event today. He was He was supposed to be on the feature table and then busted before he got up there. But because he bagged this tournament on day one A, he has a days off in it, so it comes back much later. That is King John Reard and the third everyone bow down to the King. Fad Or Holtz bagging up chips. Also Chris Claude, nicky, wasn't he in the main? Was it yesterday? Was it today? I can't remember? You know what sucks about? But he's he bagged up chips to reorder and bagging miss is that he may have to miss the three k PLO six max whatever. I don't care. I root for my guys. They can win money wherever they want, that's all. Um. So yeah, like we said, two more starting flights in that one, um, I think two eighty five entries on day one sounds good in terms of like hitting that ten million dollar guarantee. I think it's about right on target to what they would have hoped for. Well, you were you were saying, we were talking, and we were talking over in the in the other room, the Grand ball Room. Is that what it's called. I don't know the names of these rooms, but how the WPT's probably rooting for the WSP main event money bubbles to burst to yea, because now if you get people the bus, obviously once the money bubble burst, people start flying out, you know, all everyone's going everywhere. Well maybe you know, some of these people of cash for fifteen thousand, they head on over to the wind, they fire, you know, a bullet or two over there exactly. Well, now they're stuck in this tournament over here for another, you know, at least a couple hours of the day, and then it's like if you come over here tomorrow and you bust, you really want to go play another tournament? You just busted the w to me inventing all that sort of stuff. So so I'm sure WPD is rooting for the bubble the burst today, but it didn't, so I'm not that I necessarily think that's really going to do anything for the numbers, but you know, yeah, it's worth throwing it out there.
