They had to flee Great Britain and they went 526 00:40:51.599 --> 00:40:55.519 to Holland for about eleven years because they were being persecuted in England, and 527 00:40:55.559 --> 00:40:59.239 so they settled in Holland. Jamestown was a colony of all men. And luckily among the Pilgrims 548 00:42:37.480 --> 00:42:43.880 was a builder who had brought along a what's known as a house jack that 549 00:42:44.079 --> 00:42:50.119 would help jack up heavy beams for like, you know, the top beam 550 00:42:50.159 --> 00:42:54.599 of a one story structure or the floor of a two story structure. We're going into territory that we don't know what we're 574 00:44:37.559 --> 00:44:42.760 going to encounter. We vote on everything. Transparency in voting was really 577 00:44:51.960 --> 00:44:55.079 the essence of the Mayflower Compact. All the men signed it. The second that's unique about the Pilgrims. The second thing that 582 00:45:14.639 --> 00:45:20.760 was unique about the Pilgrims was that they agreed to form a pack.
