We're gonna be talking WPT World Championship, w SOP Paradise, EPT Prague. There's a whole heck of a lot of poker going on. We'll get into some Game of Gold thoughts because Game of Gold did wrap up. Excuse me, all right, First things first, we're gonna start with the WPT World Championship Festival. That's closest to us. I guess you'll say that's that's how I ranked him in terms of what we're talking about. So well, think that like we're rating something higher than the other on this rundown. No, it's it's in proximity to us. Tim and I are in Las Vegas. WPT World Championship is closest. The next thing closest is the Bahamas. So that's why we're gonna talk about Wisbye Paradise next, and then Prague is as far away as humanly possible that will talk about third. So WPT World Championship is very much underway. This entire festival, as we touched on in a previous show, more than fifty million dollars guaranteed across this entire series. It opened up with a six hundred dollars buying one million dollars guaranteed tournament four thousand, nine hundred and fifty entries. I was several of those. Tim was one of those two million, five hundred and fifty four thousand dollars in the prize. Bool Michael Rosito wins three hundred and forty thousand dollars for taking it down. Rosito is a crusher, an absolute crusher. Performs extremely well. I believe he's previously won a WPT Deep Stacks one, some other stuff at the win some other big tournaments. When it comes to large field MTTs, Michael Rosito is, you know, always seems to be performing extremely well. Uh, Tim played scored to cash well, you flopped a full house against me in what was I think in a horrendously played hand. Completely disagree. We will talk. Well, First of all, if you play the hand like you should, you double f yi. Okay, So here's the hand for how you're supposed to play it, or play how I normally would play it well, because this is a big difference. Why would you ever play the hand like this against me? Like that makes you? Let me talk about the hand. You tell the hand and then I'll tell why this is. This is day one, like g I think of of the it's the let it's the second to last flight of the six hundred dollars opener, the non turbo flight, the last non turbo flight the lines are four hundred and eight or eight hundred chip big bind anti. There's nine people at the table. I'm on the cut or in the cutoff. I make it eighteen hundred with ace king off. Tim is in the small blind. He decides to flat call. The flop comes queen ten ten rainbow. Tim checks, I go small twelve hundred. Tim calls, turns the seven check check rivers of four check check. Tim table's pocket queens for a full house. If you just three bet pre flop, we get it in. You double up. If you check raise the flop, you get more money out of me because I never fold ever on that flop in a million years, calling a check raise one hundred percent of the time. So, yeah, you played as bad as humanly as possible. You won the stone men with queens against my ace king. Okay, that that is true. Well, I want to break this down into two parts. First, post flop, you play a whole wide variety of junk and crap. You had played seven hands before I even played two hands at our table, and you were you were there for that's I'm point. So anyway, when I sat down, you texted me you said like you were like forty five minutes, I finally played a hand or something like that. I sat down, I peeled queen jack suit and raise immediately like like, yeah, that's how you get it. It was after chips. It was eighty minutes until I played a hand. I wasn't playing tight. I literally had just seven four offsuit overy hand. But anyway, when I flupped the stones, I honestly, the chance you have ace king, it's more likely you have like seven three suited. Anyway, I checked all that, and then the board ran out of small cards small card I have to just try and let you hang yourself right. If you have nothing, you're not giving me any chips. I thought about potting the river, but I knew you would see straight through that if you had like pocket nines, So I just took a risk going back to the pre flop. I told my friend about this hand, and I was like, to be honest, you know, whether I three bit that against another player, I'm not sure because I'm pretty knity and tight out of the blinds. But I also know that you're capable of just going like all in with ace nine. I don't really want to just like stack you in this six hundred dollars buying like away point. I don't even know your col it might be bad, but that so that's what I thought of the time. You want to play, just make it call it. You make an AK registration line that circled to circus, circus whatever. Make it eight thousand, let's move cash And I moved over one hundred k and winning, so cash. But you could have I could have maybe went deeper if you had played this hand right, all right? So that was that was the hand where Tim played it like an idiot, But what are you gonna do? This is now the second time we've now talked about a hand on this podcast that I've thoroughly disagreed with you on that involves you with pocket queens. The other time was you folded the queens like on the turn in the South Point Nightly like an overpair, And I was like, oh, yeah, that was a yeah, that was against That was against that dealer, dealer friend of ours whatever. Anyway, unbelievable, all right. Next up at the WPT World Championship Festival, sixteen hundred dollars Mystery Bounty. This one had a two million dollar guarantee prize. School comes in it over three point two million dollars thanks to three thy four hundred and twenty one entries. George Tamescue wins it All takes home five hundred thousand, two hundred and two dollars. The final table of this one ran till like seven thirty or eight in the morning, which is insane. Why on earth you would ever have the players do that? First of all, First of all, listen, last year, the same thing happened in this tournament. It went forever. I had a friend of mine who I think he finished ninth or whatever, and he busted in ninth at like twelve thirty or one am, and then they played till like five in the mornings or something crazy like. And then if you think all signs from what we saw, I think all expectations from the WPT and the Wins front is that this festival was going to be larger than last year. So you would think it gets more players, you would think it would last longer, right, So why wouldn't you just schedule in an extra day? I mean, what is what what was stopping you from saying, like, okay, guys, eight people left, we're going to bag it up at you know, two am or whatever it is, we're gonna come back tomorrow and finish it out. Well, I'm gonna get you. Just make that decision. Yeah, from about I don't know, two tables out, you can probably see that, hey, this is going to go long. Let's make a decision. Now. Let's call Ryan or call Ray and be like, hey, you know it's one am. There's eighteen people left. I think we should bag them at eight eight players or nine players or whatever, and then make that decision early. You know how these tournaments work, you know how they kind of flow mauth wise, So make that decision earlier and then just hey, be the good guys. Bring them back the next day two pm, who cares, doesn't matter what time it is, and let them play for you know, there was some big money still up for grabs, so better playing the next day fresh than at seven am trying to win half a million dollars. Yeah. Nonetheless, you know, crazy turnouts for these first two tournaments. I guess my one suggestion with the six hundred dollars opener got to have in the ballroom next year. Need need to have it in the ball for sure, So get that ball them a couple of days earlier. Bangs a cushout, make it a make it a two million dollar guarantee. You know you're usually gonna smash that. You're probably gonna get three million in the prize school for sure. So definitely, definitely would would push to do that if I was in the room arguing, all right, WPT Prime Championship, this mother effort. I mean, this thing was insane. Ten thousand, five hundred and twelve entries for an eleven hundred dollars buying That is absurd when you consider this is not a World Series of Poker event in the summer. You know, there have been massive events like this at the World Series of Poker in the summer. Despite what Phil Helmy's recent tweet says where he said this was a world record for a one K buying, which is not true. It is the large in one way well, but he made it seemed like it was the largest ever one K buy and which is not true. It is, though, the largest first place prize for a one K buying tournament, or at least Matt Savage believes so on Matt Savage put that out there. I trust Matt Savage out regard up top is what more than one point three million dollars, which is just absolutely insane. So they had eight flights for this. You could re enter one time per flight, so you could fire a maximum of eight bullets in this thing. Five million dollar guarantee obviously smashed ou out of the water. I think they made it on day one. C ten million, one hundred and ninety six thousand dollars in the prize. Well, I was in there, didn't make day two, fired three bullets. Tim was in there once, didn't make day two, So we suck first place. As I said, one million, three hundred and eighty six thousand dollars. Tim put down here some of the other one thousand dollars buying tournaments that topped this in terms of field size. So this this is more of just a reference point, you know, not really trying to spark any any sort of war or anything here. So the twenty twenty three WSP one thousand dollars Mystery Millions tournament had four flights, eighteen thousand, one hundred and eighteen entries, one million dollar first place prize in that one, Tyler Brown won it. Believe Remco and I did coverage of that from the Horseshoe feature table, which you can probably find on the Poker Goro YouTube channel. Tyler Brown made a crazy call and heads up play to take that one down. And the reason first place in that one was only a million dollars was because, of course, there's the mystery bounty element that takes a chunk out of the prize pool. So keep that in mind, you know, when factoring or when thinking about, you know, well, why was the Prime had a bigger first place prize? You know that's why. Same with twenty twenty two WSP one thousand dollars, million dollar bounty, same tournament, but it did change names. For the twenty twenty three WSP. This had four flights, fourteen thy one hundred and twelve entries, seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars for first place. Quincy Borland won that one, and that twenty twenty two to one was the one. Where was it Mac Lance that one or was it mac Lanson twenty twenty three? I can't remember Mac mac LANs won a million dollar bounce there or whatever. So yeah, absolute insanity. So now back to the WPT Prime Championship. This one also needed an extra day. They were two days ago. They were supposed to play down to the final table, which is going to be streamed on I believe December nineteenth, so a bunch of days off, but they came back with like one hundred and thirty players. They got down to what they get down to, like two tables something like that. Uh, didn't they get down to ten? Ten? Maybe they got down to ten or nine, you know, something like that. But they ended up coming back. They played down to six and then they paused, so there was an extra bonus day built in, which is good. Of course, the final six that reached this final table now are on a little bit of a hiatus. Here Calvin Anderson, Valerie pack Aaron Pinson, Bob Buckenmeyer, who I believe is a WPT champion, John Glenn Dinning, and Jay Lou. And the chip leader is Jay Lou with one hundred and twenty three million. Calvin Anderson is second in chips with ninety nine point five million, again one million, three hundred and eighty six thousand dollars up top. And this one, this one is I mean, this tournament was really good, structure, a lot of fun. I'm a really big fan of the one re entry per day. I think it's great. I'm kind of curious as to what they do for this tournament next year. So as a reference point, last year when they had this tournament, it was a two million dollar guarantee. Blew that out of the water. Steven Soong wanted to think he won seven hundred, seven hundred and fifty k something like that. So this year they guarantee five million. Blow it out of the water, you know, get more than ten thousand, five hundred entries, more than ten million dollars in the prize school. I mean, it's just it's absolutely wild. So you know next year five that's the number they should go to next year. Yeah, I mean I think I agree ten would be the little little dicey. Yeah. Ten is like hmm, yeah, seems a little bit too close for comfort. I mean, then again, you know, they went from fifteen to forty when they only got twenty nine I say, only got twenty nine in the World Championship. So you know, it certainly seems like the WBT and WIN want to throw their weight around in terms of these guarantees. So maybe they do, you know, slap on ten million. I would say that if you do a ten million dollar guarantee for this, you probably add another day, a starting day where people can get in there and fire. You know, then you would fire ten bullets to max, which I think is fine. I mean whatever, I mean, what's the difference at this point between eight firing max eight or firing max ten. I mean, it's the same thing. Might as well just make it, make it a ten k in a way. So I think you could do that. I like, you're seven and a half number. Something that I've also kind of wondered about is so they have WPT prime and it's the quote unquote mid major tour of the World Poker Tour, right, and all their main events are eleven hundred dollar buyings. We why wouldn't the championship event be a little bit pricier fifteen hundred two thousand, twenty one? You know, I think you still have to be in this in this range, right, Like I almost think twenty five hundred is too high, which is kind of weird, Like I wouldn't want to go to twenty five hundred, but maybe you just like this one is fifteen hundred. So like all their main events all year eleven hundred, and this one's fifteen hundred. I think maybe that's the change for next year. I like the eleven hundred price point. I think it draws people like me up to one thousand. It doesn't really rule out the guys that are you know, I well, mall normally playing five ks ten case like the value there is the ten million guarantee. If you go to fifteen hundred, I think you're gonna lose the play is like may Fellow Rex Fellow Weekend Warriors, because you know, jumping from five hundred buy into one thousand's okay, from five hundred to fifteen is just it might be a little too much. So I think eleven hundred is good. Just I think I don't think it needs to change, just maybe increase the guarantee. Yeah, I mean the only reason that I brought up that price point change, I generally agree with you is only is because it's the it's the championship event, So like most times, the championship event is a little bit higher in price point. But you know, other than that, it's fine. But I am curious though, to see what they do overall. And if you guys do want to tune in to watch the final table of this event. December nineteenth. I believe it'll be on the World Poker Tour YouTube channel and probably a whole bunch of other places because they do have a lot of distribution. So check that out if you want. All Right, the biggest and the best from this series, the WPT World Championship forty million dollars guaranteed in this one. It started on Tuesday, the first day. So let me say that for starting flights, you can only enter once per day, so maximum four bullets. If you bust a day, you can't get back in that day, you have to come back the next day. So you hate it? I hate it? Why are we reducing the prize pool? No, I would like it takes a shot in this event. I will tell you that I very much prefer this, Like I think one re entry would be okay. I think this is I think this is this is good. I also think that in a way, it's like if you hit this guarantee, you're like, yeah, we hit this guarantee and we didn't have crazy entries every single day, Like it's it's like another bolt in the chamber that you can fire out. In that regard. Day one A draws six hundred and nine entries, two hundred and two players advanced. Jeff Hakim bagged the chip lead from that flight, all players start with one hundred thousand and chips. Hakim bagged nine hundred and ninety eight thousand. As it turns out, entering in to Thursday's Day one, see Hakeem is the overall chip leader so far. Day one B this is the day that I played seven hundred and thirty entries, so a little bit of an uptick there. Peter Nef bagged the chip lead eight hundred and ninety nine thousand, so he'll be up there. Total, from day one A and one B, you have one three hundred and thirty nine entries, four hundred and sixty seven players advance. How many do they need to make the guarantee, sir? How many more? Well, in total they need both more in total, in total four and eighty two players, they'll be over the guarantee. That's about twenty seven hundred more players. So I'm talking about thirteen seventy a flight the next two days. It's a big number. Yeah, I mean it is a big number. I mean the capacity is there like they could fit it. You know, it's not a capacity thing. It's just, you know, can people get out there. It's kind of hard to look back at last year's. So last year they did this then had a fifteen million dollar guarantee. They smashed it. They got over twenty nine million dollars in the prize. School only had three starting flights, but I have the numbers from what those starting flights did. First fight six hundred and fifteen entries, Second flight one thy fifty two, Third flight twelve hundred and ninety three. Okay, so that's what they did those years. It seems to me like you probably lost I don't know, one hundred to one hundred and fifty players from one A and one B because they were still down in the Bahamas. Yeah, looking at all the social media that I've seen last night in this morning, I feel like every plane out of the Bahamas is full of poker players, absolutely full of poker players coming to the win. So I know you talked to some of the representatives at the win who are like, you know, there's a ton of people coming in. There's private jets landing, like there's all this sort of stuff. I mean like when I I played yesterday and when I parked in the parking garage. There was a car in front of me who was had a California license plates. I can only and it was an suv. I can only assume that they like drove in kind of probably that morning or something. But like six guys got out of the car and I'm like, oh, they just all they all came like you know, it's like everyone's coming in coming, in coming in. So so yeah, the number WIN bought a Boeing seven four seven, parked it at Bahamas and said, anyone coming this they for sure yet like like that not a chet. I'm talking Boeing seven fall seven. I wanted four hundred to do that one year. I don't know. I think Party Poker did that one year and like branded the outside of it and flew everyone down to like Punta Connor or wherever. The That's what WIN should they everyone? Because it's it's not an easy travel trip, right, It's what it's Bahamas, Miami. Got to get some connection to Miami from Vegas. It's always been yeah, you stop in Miami or somewhere. I saw a couple of poker plays stuck in the airport overnight, so that hell yeah, So yeah, today's number is one C. There's one C today, there's one D tomorrow. I would expect they top a thousand today for sure. I know there was some thoughts from like maybe WPT slash win camps that they might break the guarantee today, knowing what we know now, Yeah, knowing what we know now. That was like before the day started. So, you know, knowing what we know now, with you know, thirteen hundred and thirty nine entries through these first two days, I think that's hard to do. I mean, they could do it. I mean it's there's a non zero chance they do it, but I think it's going to be extremely hard to break it today. I'm actually leaning hot take to them missing slightly. Just yeah, if I have to pick a side, I'm going to pick the side that they miss because I look at that number, two seven hundred and forty three people they need. That's a that's a lot of people. Yeah, I mean listen, yeah, and it's two thousand, seven undred four three players for a ten thousand dollars buying you know, you know that said, I mean, you're you're probably getting let's see what five hundred four, So about nine hundred people busted out, So far. Let's say half of those four fifty are going to be back in Okay, Yeah, you're getting all these people coming from the Bahamas. I think, you know a lot of people that were one bullet people, maybe two bullet people, are going to be waiting for one C one D. I mean, I'm I'm I took a shot in this one. I'm a one bullet person for this. Just with my work schedule and everything that I have going on this week, got family in town, et cetera. I chose one B to play. It was a fairly decent field. In one B. There was a lot of club WPT qualifiers. I think they all played yesterday, which was crazy. I mean I had one at my table, the table behind me had two, another table had two. Like there was a lot, and I think they even they even out that, like, of the one hundred called the club the WPT qualifiers, like twenty nine or thirty or something like that, twenty or thirty of them made it through. So that would tell me that they all played yesterday. So I like the fact that I, you know, picked that day, not that I knew about it. I it was just luck of the draw. But it did did work. Out that way. So that's good. So yeah, I'm not I'm not ready to say that they're they're gonna fall short of the guarantee, but i will say this, I'm gonna get people in trouble for something that they haven't done yet, and that's if they miss it. I'm gonna come on this podcast and I'm gonna say going to forty million dollars was a mistake. I mean it, like, but I've also talked with you, Tim, and like I've said that and I've kind of felt it, like I just going fifteen to forty they got why? Like, yeah, why you could have went fifteen. You probably could have gotten away with going fifteen to twenty five, even though last year got twenty nine. You know, if you wanted to push the envelope, you would you come out and say, hey, this year, last year, huge success. We guaranteed fifteen. We just about doubled it. You know what, We're gonna guarantee that we double it thirty million. Yeah, that's like, that's my concern is that, like we've seen this before, right, So two instances that we've seen before stick out to me. Semino hard Rock years ago, they ran that ten million dollar guarantee. They ran it back and they missed horrifically, right, They've Seminole always does very well with guarantees. They have big guarantees, but they have another guarantee like the ten million that they had, right. I would say that you even saw it a little bit with win Millions, ran it the first year, smashed ran it back the second time, barely made the guarantee that second time, and now they kind of restructured the Win millions, right, So I would say that there's a little bit of it there. So if they fall short here, I guess one question is like do they care? How much do they care? And then what does it do for things going forward? Like you can go fifteen first year, you go thirty that this next year thirty five, forty, Like you know, then you're building up. Like in a way, they've kind of set the precedent that, Okay, fifteen four was the first year, forty the second year. If they hit this, they go into fifty next year. Is that the plan? I mean? But I also think that in a way, like I also think that this is if you were to try and build a ten K event that competes with the World Series of Poker in terms of like size, prize money that gives out first place prize, that sort of stuff. This is probably how you have to do it. You have to come out guns blazing, like you have to make this big jump early. Because the WSOP Maine event has what ninety three million dollars in the prize pool last year, the way that we think it's going, there's a real chance at tops one hundred million next year. So if you want to get there, you have to be so so so aggressive with what you're doing on the guarantee front in this event. Right, So if that is, I don't know if like that's their target. If it is, then yeah, you probably have to do this. So I mean, listen, I don't hate it. I just don't want it to be detrimental going forward if they miss, Like if this ends up like they get thirty four million and then next year they're like, oh, okay, we're only doing twenty five, Well that's you know, I don't want that to happen, right, You know, we wanted to We want to at least maintain or go higher. So I don't really want to get two inside baseball here, But you know, when it comes to guarantees. Sometimes it's split, you know, fifty to fifty between say the Win and WPT Global. Sometimes it might just be all it's not I'll say that, it's not like you're speaking about that, but it's it's all it's Sometimes it's split between casino online partner. Sometimes yeah, always online partner. Sometimes it's only the casino. Like you know, my point is that let's say it misses by ten million, but WPT we're handling the full guarantee. Well, they might not care that it missed by ten million, is what I mean. They might be like, okay, well yeah, no, I like, how much like do they care? And how much do they care? Because this is obviously a massive play for macco like WPT Global Club WPT I'm sure saw massive boost trying to qualify a hundred people like club or sorry, WPT Global qualified hundreds of people for this. You know. It's it's also like they've had a lot of satellites for all their different live partners like gardens casinos sent nine people, some people one in off like I think thirty dollars they said stuff like that. So you know, it is a big driver for everything that they're trying to do. So, yes, like you said, do they care and how much do they care? Right? You know, it's like do you just kind of eat the loss if if it happens? You know. So I'm curious. I'm really curious. But well, I mean, we'll see where it goes. I'm still not exactly where you are. I know you're on, You're on. You're currently in the camp of not hitting it, just just because of what we've had, the loss to flights and what we need. I'm just less bullish and meloss ya. I was completely against, like they've got no chance and they crushed it. Right, I don't even remember that this year I was a team that will make it. Now I'm just, oh, it's going to be a little tight. Yeah, I mean, I I'm listen. I'm still not ready to go there. I think I said forty four million is what they would get. Maybe I'm a little bit less than that now forty two million, so maybe. I mean, I think they lost a good chunk of players just to the to the basop paradise stuff, you know, and but looking at Paradise, you look at the people that are still there, and you go down the chip counts, and I'm looking at these names and I'm not sure how many people are there right now like that would be here playing the win. I don't think it's one hundred percent. I've seen at least one hundred people on social media between last night and today on a plane from Bahamas. And all of those people that I've seen would fire, would have fired one A and one B if they busted. And when people the people that are still in the events today, it's going to be difficult for them to get in for one D right. So I'm saying the people that are still there playing the closer, playing the ten k plow the ten k six max. Of those players remaining, there's not that many that I would have expected to play all four flights, right, like Isaac Hackson, Shaw, Jim Collopee, suaw Rise, Jacky. Sure, but some of the other names are like they're Canadian, they're from they're from Asia. They might not have ever come. So I don't know how many they are losing over the next two days. I think everyone that's wanting to play is here. We've seen mass exodus from Bahamas, you know, Sidel Livingston, Adam Hendrix, Osmus Schulman. All these guys that would have fired every day and now are now here for one A, one B, one C, one D. So they may have missed prime, but they're here for the ten k Maine. But there's still a lot of guys Ryan Reeves, China him, like Christian Harder like like, there's a lot of people that are that would have like fired all four flights of this. So there's a good chunk of those people that that they're missing out on. And you know why they're missing out PGT points. Oh, stop get out of here. That's it the reason. First of all, the the WSP Paradise main event didn't count for the PGT, so you can't say that, but the tan k PLO Championship does. Just saying I mean, I think today they come in at what do they need? They need two thousand, seven and forty three, So today they're going to come in at I would say probably eleven hundred. I shoulda say they need a break a thousand today to feel like it's within within, within rage, that's all. Oh, if they had seven hundred, they're probably doing dead. But like a thousand, you're under the you're under the kind of trend, but you're right there. You could probably might be out. I think I think I heard Matt Savage. He was lurking around my table talking to some people. I think he said, last night there was like another sixty seats given away in one of the live satellites, and then another sixty or sorry, two nights ago ors and then there were sixty, and then last night was going to be another sixty something like that. So I mean he said, almost five hundred seat. This is a tweet about an hour ago, almost five hundred seats already awarded in Milestone satellites, and there's two more today at eleven am and six pm. So yeah, I think we talked about I mean, I have a notes here, thoughts from us, you know, where we think it's kind to fall for the guarantee. I mean we pretty much covered all this stuff. So so yeah, and then and then you know, I know what we kind of touched on, like what's what might happen in the future with this event. I believe you had it that they had a three year deal WPT in the wind, So that's what I told. Yeah, So so we'll see, you know, but that's going to rely a lot on where this number comes in. If they come in at like forty million, ninety five thousand, I mean, let's keep going. Well, no, but I'm saying it's gonna be hard to like want to up it again, right, top it. It's good, it's good where it is. Let's just don't get too crazy. Oh I get it, but but I'm saying you are sometimes keeping a guarantee the same year after year like doesn't have the same drawl, like you almost need to up it right. It's so it's it's tricky. It's tricky, it really is. And then also listen, it also depends on what's gonna happen with WASIP Paradise, which is what we're going to talk about next. But like we we have no idea. Is WSIP Paradise this year? And that's it. We haven't heard anything in the future, Like is it is it going to happen in the future. If it happens in the future, is it going to be the same time frame or a these two series gonna go head to head? Is also EBT Progue gonna be in the mix? We know for sure EPT Progue The dates are announced for next year. Yeah that EPT and Poker Stars came out with those dates. I think it's like December fifth through fourteenth. It's the same window like the EBT Prog ain't moving. They're like whatever, you know, We're still doing so so it really just comes down to, you know, this WPT World Championship, which I'm pretty sure is gonna be here to stay in the same window at least for one more year, is what we believe. And then I guess what happens with dobsip paradise and how does WSP paradise that that or feel that they did, which is what we'll talk about next. First of that bunch is the sixteen hundred and fifty dollars Mystery Millions Tournament. It had a five million dollar guarantee, five million, one hundred and sixty nine thousand dollars in the prize school three thousand, four hundred and forty six entries. Jinhun Lee took home top honors four hundred and twenty thousand dollars and the coveted WSP Gold bracelet. Maria Hoe finished third. Maria hoey poker grow ambassador, well liked, professional player, commentator, ambassador within the industry. Maria was what was she chip leader on day one, Day two, like Day three, like the whole way. Ultimately, the final table was kind of crapshooting. I mean she had a big lead for the early part of it, but lost some hands that you know, were basically flips, and there's nothing you can do there because when the the blinds get high and people are pretty short, I mean, you just got to win your all in, so, you know, another close call on the w s apgald Bracelet front for Marie Ho but I'm sure she'll, uh, she'll be all right with ten in her pocket. Who she lost heads up to? Yeah, Alan Barry five thousand dollars. Noloman hold him Allan won eight hundred something thousand dollars and then left poker and started a restaurant franchise. Yeah or whatever. Yeah, I remember that they had they had. They came back for an extra day and Alan had a massive lead massively and finished her off. Okay, next event from WSP Paradise, fifteen hundred dollars Millionaire Maker draws kind of a similar field three four hundred and ninety six entries. Also a five million dollar guarantee on this one. They also topped it five million, two hundred and thirty three thousand dollars in the prize school Alan Demelo wins it all takes home one million dollars from this one. Kind of my trend from these two events is kind of barely making the guarantee here. You know, there was a lot of online qualification stuff. Honestly, I still don't fully understand how it all worked because it's the information like isn't readily available and not easy to find. Like I think the Millionaire Maker was basically played online, but then only the top one hundred traveled down to the Bahamas? Is that is that correct with that one? Yep? Yeah. But then the Mystery Millions I think had a whole bunch of online qualification as well. Like it was, it was very tricky to to find out how this all worked, and all the online qualification came from WSP partner GG Poker. Then you had the twenty six thousand dollars GG Millions high Roller. Now, this one performed extremely well, five hundred and thirty three entries in a twenty five K well twenty six because it was twenty five plus one ten million dollar guarantee on this one, more than thirteen million dollars in the prize pool. Samuel Mueller wins two million, seven hundred and thirty six thousand dollars for taking home first place. In that one of course, also the WSP Gold Brace. It's so very good turnout here. Something that you and I both didn't know is this one also had online qualification, which we found out on day two or whatever when it was like, oh, hey, these people also qualified for the tournament. We were looking at the numbers and like, I think pokernews and and WSP dot com had like one number, but then the final number was like higher, and we were like, well, where do these other numbers come from? What's going on? And I was like, oh, hey, these group of players qualified online. Oh okay, well send that out now. I sent out a tweight and then I was either hackson or bottom or responded to the tweight saying don't forget about me, and I'm like, what the hell are you talking about? And then I go back to pucernews and WSP dot com and the WSB plus app, and I say, oh, these online qualifiers, it's thirteen of them, and one of those guys was part of it. And I was like, okay, I did not know that was happening. But little a little wrinkle to that event that we weren't really prepared for. Yeah, So I mean, really good turnout for this one, five hundred and thirty three entries in the twenty five k is is pretty gangbusters there, so good on them for that. The twenty six thousand dollars PLO high Roller drew one hundred and forty two million dollars guarantee here. Price school comes in at more than three point four million dollars. Nicolas Lempropolas wins eight hundred and seventy one thousand dollars. Really good first place price here, really good turnout. I think this kind of further says that PLO tournaments are performing extremely well wherever they're really held right now. You know, I think it's good. I know, you know, we've had some conversations with some people who are here in Vegas at the WIN polo players who are you know, yeah, they're dabbling in the the WIN World Championship two card stuff, but they're very much looking forward to the PGT PLO series and all of that. So polo tournament players, they're out in full form, they're ready to go, which you know, this twenty six k PLO high Roller, I think certainly is another piece of evidence to that. I've said it before on this show. I'll say it again. Basically is gonna have one hundred kplo. Yeah, they're gonna steal it, steal our event. I think you're thinking Alex koulv Oh, I am damage who's right? Well, now he's I mean my fault alex is six, got it, I'm a stupid American. Yeah, won the lost ever for now WSP Bracelet at the Rio. Well, that's just legendary. That's amazing. They should they should have a satellite event at the Rio every year. So so here's something that that well, let me say this, two million dollars guarantee six point seven million dollars in the prize school. Before I get to the winner of this one. Here, here's my general takeaway from this series. The guarantee and how this series I feel like was built and where I think they kind of missed. I feel like this series was really positioned as almost as high Roller series, right, but but and like but like the guarantees, I think they kind of have backwards in a way, Like they have bigger guarantees for the smaller stuff, and they barely made it on those guarantees, but then the big buy in stuff they smashed all the guarantees out of the water, right, So it's like they should have the way that they positioned this from from everything that I kind of saw was like, this is a series where like we're gonna draw on a lot of big names who can play all these crazy high rollers, right, and then obviously the five K main event, Like I feel like they like this tournament, like they could have guaranteed five million easily, right, like and like, but all these big buying tournaments, the twenty six KGG millions, ten million dollar guarantee, they got more than thirteen the PLO twenty five K two million dollars three point five million, the fifty two K or the fifth Yeah, the fifty two K two million, six point seven million dollars in the prize school, like the one hundred and three Ultra high Roller five million dollar prize school almost eleven million dollars. Ultimately, Like, you know, I feel like they kind of did it backwards there, so I don't know anyway, the fifty two thousand dollars Super high Roller draws one hundred and thirty seven As I said, Eric Sidell, the freaking goat man, one point seven million dollars for mister Eric Sidell. Jason Kuhn had a few big results from WISIP Paradise, So shout out to Massashi Oyah you had a stat He is now number one on what the Japanese all time money list according to the hand of the mob, So very cool, congrats to Musashi. And of course two point nine to four million dollars ten thousand dollars PO Championship draws, one hundred and four entries, one million dollar prize pool guarantee barely beat it one million, eight eight hundred dollars in the prize pool at time of recording. There's what thirteen players are remaining, Bryce Jockey, Jim Collifee, josh Aria, Isaac Hackson, Jeff Gross all in the mix. This one does count for the PGT, So I think what Bryce Yockey, Jim Callafee, josh Aria, Isaac Hackson are all kind of in the mix for more PGT points. Isaac Ackson, of course the PGT leader, so he's trying to he's trying to just lock up that top spot. Because if you do lock up that top spot on the leaderboard going into the PGT Championship one, you're going to start with the most chips in the tournament. Two, you're going to win the fifty thousand dollars Player of the Year prize for the PGT. So Isaac Hackson is certainly going to try and you know, pad his lead in that regard. What were you going to say, No, I was going to say that, Yeah, Hackson's obviously on top. Josh Aria is already qualified, but if he can ladder up a few spots, he'll get over that, you know, that threshold we've been talking about of twelve hundred points, and I would say nearly lock his spot. Bryce Yaki's pretty far out, doesn't play a whole lot of hold him, so I don't think he'll, you know, make a run. But Jim Klaps the big one. I'm kind of rooting for he can win. He is in the top forty, which is something you know, to be honest, he told us he played the six hundred with me. He says, I decided to go to Bahamas just to try and qualify for the championship, so I know it means a lot to him, and I think he might be second in chips heading into today, so he's in pretty good position to make a run at winning the bracelet and then ten thousand dollars Nolan hold them at six macs through one hundred and sixty nine entries, one million dollar guarantee in this one, just over one point six million dollars in the price will four players remain. Mike Watson, Jean Noel, Thurrell dong Chen and Thomas Santurn are battling for top honors in that one, and of course the World Series of Poker Gold Bracelet overall. You know, I think on the service the series was a success. I mean, I don't know behind closed doors what went on with the bas Ap Paradise exactly. I mean, heading into the series, it seemed like they were scrambling, right. I mean, there was a lot of offers being thrown out in those last one to two weeks leading up to the series. I mean all over the place, you know, free stay, buy one, get one, free tournament buy ins like everything, right, So that tells me that they were maybe worried about attendance. But I mean it looks like they've hit every guarantee, which I think you and I both said all along that like they're gonna probably hit these guarantees. So so yeah, so I think overall, you know, it's been a pretty good series. Again, we'll see if it comes back. And you know, of course they have the ten They're sorry, the ten thousand dollars five thousand dollars Main Event Championship. I mean this is another one, like five thousand dollars buy in for this one. They guaranteed fifteen million. What was the final number, fifteen million, fifty thousand. It's kind of it's kind of tricky, like we don't really know all the numbers, like the numbers. It's okay. So the thing I disliked about Paradise is they do take this additional three percent out or whatever, which is fine, it's part of the structure. But I understand, but a lot of places do that, not the way that these guys do it. They announced the price pool of fifteen point zero five million, then they take the three pisce. A lot of places do that. I'm telling you, a lot of places do that one hundred percent other places. This isn't like the first time thing. This is the thing I've bet. I think this is a I'll tell you this. I know because I've had an issue with it before, Like, I don't think you should do it that way. Like if you guarantee fifteen million, fifteen million dollars goes to the players and end of story, that that's how this works. You guarantee a million a million goes to the players, Like that's how this should work. They're guarantees for a reason, like this this fine print crap that happens in poker tournaments. And listen, it's not just the Wasity Paradise, it's all of these tournaments. They do it all the time. There was a whole thing with the MGM Grand Series here in Las Vegas where Tony Burns had to come out on social media and say, listen, I'm not working with them anymore because they decided to change their guarantees in mid series. Like, no, you announce a series, it gets approved, it gets marketed. You need to honor that. Like that, that's what needs to happen. Just like when online sites they have a tournament up it's a fifty k guarantee and it gets eight runners and they cancel it, like no, like this is not how this works, and like the gaming regulators need to come down on these places, like if you, if you, you can't just change this, like you can't just put it in find print because it's just it's unfair to the players. You need to be better with your business and figuring out the guarantees and all that sort of stuff. Like that's what you need to be better in. I agree. I mean that's also like that's partly what RAKE is for Rake is, Yeah, it's to pay all the staff and everything and then in worst case scenario, Rake is like your fallback to cover guarantees if it has to be that way. So like that that's just how it is. This is the business that these people got into. Like you have to deal with it, right, you can't just be doing this stuff. If you guarantee ten million dollars, ten million dollars should go in the player's pockets. End of story. That's how it is. Like that that's a guarantee to me, it's the definition of a guarantee. Anyway. The five thousand dollars main Event Championship, it got three thousand and ten entries. There are seven players remaining entering the final day. The biggest name remaining is Matt Glance. He's got whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. If you're going to tell me you're blond, Daniel Nielsen is the biggest name remaining, then you're crazy, Yes, get out of here. Australian legend Wow Listen has been around for a while. Yes, has done a lot of a lot of big things out of the Australian poker scene. That is Daniel Nielsen. He is the chip leader with seven players remaining. He's got thirty seven point four million, which represents sixty two big blinds. About what fifteen big blind chip lead over the final table. The final table seven is Michael Skolinka out of the Czech Republic. You have Mack Lance out of the US, you have Stanislav ziegel A out of Germany, Gabrielle Schroeder out of Brazil, Montgomery McQuaid out of the UK, Ruiy Sosa out of Portugal, and then Daniel Nielsen out of Australia. Each player is guaranteed three hundred thousand dollars, but they are are of course playing for a massive first place prize that is two million buckeroos up top and dollary. Dudes, Daniel might say, dude. Okay, So the final seven payouts are three hundred thousand dollars for seventh place, four hundred thousand dollars for six, five hundred and ten thousand dollars for fifth, six hundred and eighty five thousand for fourth, nine hundred thousand for third. Second place gets seven figures one point two million, and then first place is two million dollars and the first ever WSP Paradise Main Event gold bracelets. I think good series overall. Again, I think we're still gonna just have to wait and see what they do if they if they announce it for next year or whatever. I mean, I think it. I feel like they don't know, because wouldn't you want to announce it during this like, hey, we're coming back like type of thing. Would it would make sense? Yeah, maybe they want to just run the numbers and you know, give it some time to see and you know, of course, the earlier you announced it, the more you can start, like you know, qualifiers and putting everything together so you don't have to do all that scrambling kind of last minute like they did this first time around. So but yeah, but as we talked about earlier, a lot of these people that were down there are on planes right now trying to get back to Las Vegas to play the WPT over at the Wind So a whole heck of a lot of poker going on tim A lot of these events at Dobaispy Paradise qualified for the PGT. So who were some like big movers on the leader board. Of course, we're down to the to the to the end of it, right the only thing that's left is PGT Last Chance in January January second through seventh, yep. And it's all about qualifying for the PGT Championship million dollar free role. It's all about getting in that top forty of the leaderboard. The top forty are the players that will qualify. So who kind of put themselves in a better position to make that happen. I'm going to run from top to bottom of people that earned the most PGT points at Paradise. Number one name Jason Kuhne. He is now thirty third on the leaderboard. He picked up eight hundred and fifty three PGT points from his three cashes. Next up, Eric Sidell picked up eight hundred and four points, one win, two cashes. He's now in eleventh, pretty much locked his spot in the top forty. Daniel Smodjovic did how I say it. He picked up seven hundred points for his third place finish in the twenty five KGG millions. He's up to thirty fourth. He's already emailed me asking about this free roll, so you know, there's some conversation. Maybe we s him for the last chance. We'll see what happens. Obviously we've talked about him already. Masashioya, the guy that I was rooting for against Jason Kuhne because you know, I wanted more sweats on the leaderboard than anything. But he picked up six hundred and thirty four points one win in three cashes. He's now thirty ninth, right on that fringe. I definitely expect him for PGT last chance up the Turk thirty second place right now. He picked up just under five hundred points and we've discussed this lots. You know, I've been asked by players, what is the minimum amount of points you think will be needed for the to qualify. I've always said twelve hundred. I think you need to get to twelve hundred, and you're in. Three players have now pushed over that amount, and I would say a near lucks for the championship. Nick Shulman fourteen hundred and fifty nine points, Leon the Sturm thirteen hundred and four and Adrian Mataos twelve sixty two. Reason I say twelve hundreds is important is that there's a logjam of three guys on twelve hundred, so that matters. But also it just felt like the riot number between twenty eighth place, which is twelve hundred points it minus two hundred points is forty fifth. So that is a pretty cluster of you know, basically eighteen players that's going to be competing for that bubble of those last few spots to qualify. Pretty crazy. I mean, it's it's good, you know, it's good. It's good that the race is heating up. And then of course you know Last Chance January second through seventh at the Poker Studio in Las Vegas is going to be a lot of fun. Yeah, a lot of these people out there battling, and the additional dream seats that are up for grabs just from that seat, that series leaderboard is going to create a lot of competition. Heading over to Europe, EPT Prague really really good turnouts out of Prague. So Prague is a are the ept's Eureka Series. The Eureka Prague main event in a lot one hundred euro by him draws four four hundred and three entries, which is a record for this event. So, I mean, listen, last year in this event had foury seventeen, so just about four hundred more. I mean, it's it's crazy just how well live poker is doing everywhere. I mean, you know, the WASB Paradise numbers were good, WPT World Championship excuse me, numbers are really good here as well, and EPT Prog numbers are good. So yeah, everywhere just seems to be crushing, which is kind of crazy, you know. I mean it, I don't know if it's the best move to have all three of these going on at once. I still don't know. Maybe it works for like this year, and it's not sustainable going for I have no idea that said. I mean, these numbers are great to see as a you know, a poker purist. You know, just just how much poker is being played on the live front is great. So in this Eureka main event, two hundred and twenty six thousand euros in the prize school, Alexander sat Chu wins five hundred and eleven thousand euros for taking that one down. And then another record setter was had in the EPT Progue main event, fifty three hundred eurobuy in. There twelve hundred and eighty five entries, topping last year's twelve sixty seven. Last year was the record this year, said it, eighteen entries, more more than six point one million euros in the prize pool. What is that number there that you put, Is it one point three million euros for first place? Yes, one point three million euros for first place. There are eighty five players remaining, probably a little bit less than that a time of recording, you know, but they're moving forward with this one. We won't have a winner to talk about just yet. But Marley Sprague was still in Omar l Jack, who won the twenty twenty two at WSP Europe Made Event govar At, mattal Now Ferrell, Steve O Dwyer, Roman Kalias Kakwan Lao, Leo Margetz, Max Nugebauer who is the twenty twenty three WSP Europe Champions. So both SP Europe champions from the last two years are out their battle and trying to become EPT Progue champion. Max is also currently qualified for the PGT Championship Million dollar f There you go. So we'll we'll wrap up EPT Prog in terms of the winners from the winner of the main event, and then we'll also probably hit on I think they had a bunch of high rollers and stuff there. By the way, for some reason, I don't know why, I thought it was like eighteen. I think that's what we thought it was gonna be. Yeah. Well, anyway, the the final episode was like was a two hour special or whatever, basically double episode finale, and it wrapped up what about a week ago last Friday, Maria Ho taking it down. She won four hundred and fifty six thousand dollars. So the final round of Game of Gold was a sit and go and you started with your chips based on like how you had performed in previous rounds. There were what six players, Dan Kates, Josh Aria, who Else, kind of England, Maria Hoe and Jo Viral Johann Gilbert were the six players in that one, Maria won a massive hand that was a three way hand against it went open from Fador Holtz, three bet jam from kind of England. Maria ho calls with Ace king Off, she had the King of Diamonds, Vader Holts, Alexa just call with queens believe the flop. What was the flop Queen High? I can't remember, what's so long ago. It was like Queen High with two diamonds, so I can't remember exactly. But anyway, Maria got a lot of value or got some additional value out of Fador Holts. She backed into a straight or she she made a straight broadway straight on the river. It was interesting on in the hands on the river. Maria puts out a bet, a fairly healthy bet, and Fador goes in the tank forever, and he's like he's talking out loud about like theos of the hands, and you know, he mentioned Ace King of Diamonds, which would have been a flopped flushtraw two overs, and then the straight draw as well. He never mentioned, like, you know, like Ace king Off with either the Ace or the King of Diamonds. I don't think he mentioned that, so I don't know if he I don't know if he overlooked that possibility, and what I mean by overlooked it is that would he have just assumed that she would have just jammed after kind of jammed with Ace king Off, which I think is probably more of a standard play. You know, I think Ace king suited you can maybe be a little bit more inclined to flat because Ace king Suit is a little bit more powerful than Ace king Off. Ace king Off. You just want to kind of get fad or out of the hand. And if you you know, if you take a if you take a race with queens, I mean I guess you just take a race with queens, and or if possibly like that was edited out, I mean because obviously we don't don't know what goes into the editing. But anyway, she wins the hand. She has a massive chip lead, so she takes home four hundred and fifty six thousand dollars. She ends up beating Dan Kates and heads up play, I thought Maria pretty much dominated not only this final sit and go, but pretty much everything. She performed well early on in the opening sit and go, she did well in the heads up stuff, I mean, she did well throughout, So I thought she was a very deserving winner. Overall, Where did this prize money come from? Do you have any idea? No idea? Like did did the players didn't have to buy in, right, No. I think it was like a you know, they'll probably paid to play and given obviously a combination and travel. I think it was just if this money is just put up, why is it four fifty six? It seems it's just like a random numbers make it five hundred. Well, it's got to do with squid game. The guy, the guy was I haven't watched a good game, but the guy, the main character, he's he's uh, he's number as he's player number is four five six. Oh well, I mean, well that's just it's one hundred. The reason, yeah, I mean you don't have to copy that exactly. No, that's someone asked the grand or that, and the gronder literally responded with a gift of that guy with the four five six on his chest. Okay, well, okay, whatever what else were they gonna say? Oh, do you think there was a deal? Did you see that? Like right right before heads up play, like Maria and Dan Kates kind of come walking out of the back and like they're finishing a conversation, like I think before the MIC's like get fully turned on. So like I wonder if they were talking about making a deal. I'm sure they're probably, you know, but what my question is like, why would you show that part? Why would you not just edit that part out? They're just coming back from the bathroom break, oh yeah together, I mean, come on, I mean it's it seemed like they might be trying to work out some sort of side. Maybe they did it on purpose so that people that host podcasts can keep talking about maybe the show. Maybe maybe I thought overall, Game of Gold was pretty good. You know, we previously talked about a lot of things that we would we would offer up as suggestions to improve it going forward. Now I don't know if I would run it back exactly the same where you went sit and go for fourheaded sit and go format as the first round, second round was heads up play, third round was the Indian Poker, fourth and final round was the six handed sit and go with the finalist. I think the I like having like a different type of thing for all the rounds, right, I think the round three the Indian Poker one. Not that I didn't like the Indian poker. One it was it was a little it seemed a little bit weird at first, but I liked it when I watched it. So I just don't know if I would do the same thing again, right, Like, I feel like you got to kind of mix that part up, because you know, I think part of the fun that can come from this show is as seasons go on, like you you don't know exactly what's gonna happen, Like you don't go into it next year, like if you or I get invited, for example, Okay, we're not like okay, first one is four and it's sit and go. Second one is heads up, third one is I got to study Indian poker, you know, like I don't want to know, like you need to have that that surprise element, right, yeah, so I don't know what it would be, what you would replace things with, and you can change them all really, you know, I think the final one was fine, of course, but yeah, you know, of course all should be some some sort of poker variant element or whatever. But but I wouldn't run it back exactly the same, you know, so you can probably change up exactly how they're played, you know, just to keep people on their toes. I think you know other uh, you know, competitive reality shows like this, like Survivor for example. You know, they do well in this regard where it's it's not a like cookie cutter every single season, which is good. So that's that's one thing that that I would like to see going forward. It seems like all the players from what I've seen, there was you know, Jeff Platt down down in Bahamas at the Bisbee Paradise did a lot of a lot of interviews with the contestants that were on Game of Gold, and I think all of them were like, yeah, I want to be invited back, Like I'm ready to be invited back. So you should be completely new cost my like completely new, not even Maria, and then we can maybe set up like four seasons in bring back like the final six of each season or something. Yeah. Like, I think it's good to have some people come back because you want to have those repetitive characters and you want to build those up, right, But I also agree with you, like you shouldn't just run back the same people, and like just because you got on the first one doesn't mean you get on the second one. Maybe you get on the first one, then you might come back for like the fourth one for example, you know, like that sort of stuff. But like, yeah, I think you definitely need some new people in there, and then you can do what the other reality shows do, Like you can have like a villain's one, a hero is one, like a champions one, a first people out one, like all that sort of stuff, right, you can you can do it as you build this up, which I'm guessing is in the road map somewhere, I just don't know where. So yeah, I wouldn't run it back with exactly this same group, which is I mean, ultimately that's going to be a bummer to both the people that don't get invited back and then also bummer to people that you know, became fans of some of these contestants. But that's just how it is. So I think it's going to be very interesting to see how it goes forward. And overall I'm a fan, so I'm looking forward to the next one already. Yeah.
