He was forty six years old and he was 14 00:01:06.319 --> 00:01:11.920 the battalion chief for Battalion six of the New York Fire Department. He lived in Warwick, New York, in a home that 17 00:01:21.200 --> 00:01:26.280 he designed and built himself. He had at the time two teenage children, 18 00:01:26.359 --> 00:01:32.680 obviously much older now he was. My grandfather was a 52 00:04:12.120 --> 00:04:18.120 veteran of World War Two and the Pacific theater, and my grandmother was from 53 00:04:18.120 --> 00:04:26.079 the Dominican Republic. She was very talented woman, could amazing cook, just 54 00:04:26.279 --> 00:04:33.240 very talented. But there was something I think that maybe a little toxic about 55 00:04:33.279 --> 00:04:38.839 my grandmother, and maybe there wasn't as healthy of a marriage or home life 56 00:04:38.879 --> 00:04:43.920 in that house. My father, at sixteen years old moved out and just 57 00:04:44.160 --> 00:04:47.720 started working and just had to get for some reason.
