Finally, the sailors cried out to Jonah's God. We've tried 68 00:05:40.079 --> 00:05:44.160 our gods. That didn't work. They cried out to Jonah's God. Oh 69 00:05:44.279 --> 00:05:49.360 Lord, don't let us die because of this man's life. And please don't 70 00:05:49.399 --> 00:05:56.000 hold us responsible for his death. Because you Lord sent this storm for your 71 00:05:56.040 --> 00:06:00.720 purpose. You know that storm you're going through right now is because God has 72 00:06:00.759 --> 00:06:04.800 a purpose for it. God's purpose for your life is greater than the problems 73 00:06:04.800 --> 00:06:11.000 you're going through. The purpose is always greater than the problem. You Lord 74 00:06:11.079 --> 00:06:14.639 sent this storm for your purpose. God has a good purpose for the storm 75 00:06:14.720 --> 00:06:17.879 in your life. You sent this storm for your purpose. Then they took 76 00:06:18.160 --> 00:06:25.759 Jonah and they threw him overboard, and immediately, not like a minute later, 77 00:06:26.079 --> 00:06:32.399 immediately the raging see calmed down. That's a miracle. Storms don't just 78 00:06:32.480 --> 00:06:42.600 stop immediately. They went from crashing waves to immediately it's calm. That's miracle 79 00:06:42.920 --> 00:06:46.399 number one. And when I do this, when I said God, I'm 80 00:06:46.399 --> 00:06:49.360 going to stop running from you. I've been running from you a long time. 81 00:06:51.360 --> 00:06:56.319 The things will calm down immediately, the raging storm calms down. Okay, 82 00:06:56.399 --> 00:07:03.120 here's miracle number two. When I do what God wants, Unbelievers believe, 83 00:07:04.600 --> 00:07:10.560 people get saved. Unbelievers around me believe. When I finally do what 84 00:07:10.680 --> 00:07:14.279 God wants me to do. Now, I remember, this is a ship 85 00:07:14.319 --> 00:07:17.439 full of guys. Who are They're just pagan sailors. They probably polytheistic. 86 00:07:17.480 --> 00:07:21.560 They're all believing different images and gods and idols and different things like that. 87 00:07:23.319 --> 00:07:28.839 But now they've seen this storm immediately stop. And in Jonah one sixteen, 88 00:07:29.079 --> 00:07:32.879 when the sailors saw this happen, what immediately the raging sea calmed down. 89 00:07:33.279 --> 00:07:41.360 When the sailors saw this happen, they were awe struck by God's greatness, 90 00:07:43.839 --> 00:07:48.279 and they worshiped God, and they offered a sacrifice to God, and they 91 00:07:48.319 --> 00:07:51.360 made vows. They made promises God, God, We're going your way from 92 00:07:51.360 --> 00:07:56.519 now on. The whole ship is converted. Why because one guy who was 93 00:07:56.560 --> 00:08:00.360 doing the wrong thing, the believer who was doing the wrong thing, gets 94 00:08:00.399 --> 00:08:03.279 his life right. And all of a sudden, the non believers believe, 95 00:08:07.319 --> 00:08:11.879 every one of you probably have a friend or a relative who doesn't know the 96 00:08:11.920 --> 00:08:16.759 Lord. You got somebody in your family, maybe your parents, maybe a 97 00:08:16.800 --> 00:08:22.360 brother or sister, maybe a spouse. Your husband doesn't know the Lord, 98 00:08:22.360 --> 00:08:26.759 your wife doesn't know the Lord, or children. You've got family members, 99 00:08:26.839 --> 00:08:31.039 relatives, You've got friends who don't know the Lord. Have you ever thought 100 00:08:31.039 --> 00:08:37.679 that maybe you might be the barrier that the way you have been living has 101 00:08:37.720 --> 00:08:43.759 actually kept them from coming to Christ because you haven't been all out. You've 102 00:08:43.759 --> 00:08:46.039 had the foundation of Jesus Christ, but you've been building with wood, hay 103 00:08:46.039 --> 00:08:50.759 and straw, and they haven't really seen that big of a difference in your 104 00:08:50.799 --> 00:08:56.200 own life. That word prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. 125 00:10:48.320 --> 00:10:52.000 And Jonah was inside that great fish for three days a night. It doesn't say 130 00:11:09.080 --> 00:11:13.480 whale. The word whale is in the Bible, but it's not in the 131 00:11:13.519 --> 00:11:18.960 Book of Jonah. It doesn't say that a whale. It says God prepared 132 00:11:18.600 --> 00:11:22.159 a great fish. In the first place. A whale isn't a fish. 133 00:11:22.159 --> 00:11:28.279 Whales a mammal. Whales a mammal. It's not a fish. Now, 134 00:11:28.679 --> 00:11:30.799 God could have used a whale if he wanted to, but it whales, 135 00:11:30.840 --> 00:11:33.919 not a wales, a mammal. Now, they wouldn't have known that twenty 136 00:11:33.919 --> 00:11:37.360 seven hundred years ago, but God knew it. And it said God prepared 137 00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:43.159 a fish. Now, the word prepared, there's manna in Hebrew. It 138 00:11:43.200 --> 00:11:50.919 literally means custom made. Okay, okay, It literally means assigned. It's 139 00:11:50.960 --> 00:11:56.960 translated assigned. It's a translated appointed. It's translated ordained. This is the 140 00:11:56.960 --> 00:12:03.399 word for ordained. It issues many times, and it says in chapter one, 141 00:12:03.519 --> 00:12:05.279 God ordained to whale. In chapter four says God ordained to worm, 142 00:12:05.600 --> 00:12:09.480 and in chapter it says God ordained to win. But it just means God uniquely customized.
