I busted up shoop it online bracelet event. I was tilted, there's nothing for me to do, and I said, I'm gonna go home and say my family was still. At the time, I thought it worked out because I was like, I'm gonna play tomorrow, so I'll go home early as well. I'll get some sleep. But it's so weird how my body adjusts for the world series where if I have a early night and I go to sleep and sleep for a long time, I always it's one hundred percent of the time I will almost over sleep or or I will oversleep and I almost overslept this morning and missed the start of the tournament, which I should have done because I lost the first hand and whatever during the World Series. I will try and sleep, Ellie. Like last time, I went to bed at ten, No, I sid only got six hours of sleep, Like, it's not late. I went home. I don't even know what time I went home yesterday. I think I got home around nine, maybe nine thirty ten, I don't remember. But I was up until midnight sweating our fantasy team. I had too how could I not? And then they were doing well. When I was sweating, I was like, you know what, it's midnight, I'm done going to bed. I went to bed and they didn't get any more points. So I mean I feel I should have stayed up and kept sweating them. Um all right. On today's show, Mike Gardinski wins his third WSB Gold bracelets. Billy Baster falls short of winning his eighth, but an epic epic run, an epic final table in that one, it was the Millionaire Maker is down to five tables, forty two entries. I believe two players left. Yeah about forty. Mike Mattis how is currently heads up in the center of the room here inside the Horseshoe Event Center. He's in the fifteen stud High Low tournament. The PLO high Roller twenty five thousand dollars buy in this fin tournament, I mean, is like the most amazing thing I've ever seen. What's all the money coming from. I don't no idea, but that thing. It burst the bubble there in the money. We'll talk about how big the field size is, because it is absolutely wild, how big it is the salute to warriors. Are they done for the night? I think they're redrawing to three tables, absolutely flying in that tournament. Um, so we'll check in on that. We got the three K limit hold him six max. We'll do an update on that. There are two events that kicked off today. One of them I played and busted in one of them. Tim and I both busted tournaments today. We're doing very well for the for the team, for the home team. So you know, that's how we liked. We just like to lay our money afar. That's how we roll. It is our exact hat. It looks the same other than the logo. I mean, have some originality and some creativity, guys. I mean, come on, guys, if you needed help, you could have come to us and Tim and I would have put our minds together and been like, yeah, this is what you should do. Who's behind the high Noon. There's not much creativity there, mister Hanks called personally. Personally, I think that hat should have been like red, because the logo is like the flame is red like that, you know, like I think it should have been read. Mike Gordinsky took down more than four hundred and twenty two thousand dollars. It was his third WSP goal Bracelet's been a little bit of time since he's been in the Winter circle here at the World's a Poker. He won his first goal bracelet in twenty thirteen when he won the twenty five d oe event that is Omaha Eighter better and Stud Highlow eight or better. He took home just about two hundred and seventeen thousand dollars for that one, and then in two fifteen he won the fifty thousand dollars Poker Players Championship for one million, two hundred and seventy thousand dollars. That is also the year that Mike Gordonski was crowned WSP Player of the Year. Oh yeah, I forgot about it. Yeah, So it's been a few years since uh Gordo has been in the WSP Winter Circle. Not a massive tournament grinder, you know, it plays a lot of high stakes cash games obviously, dabbles in, you know, a lot of these bigger buying mixed tournaments here at THEBESP. But it's been you know, what is it eight years? Seven or eight years since he's gotten into the WP winner circle. Feeling good about it. We spoke with him afterwards, so let's play that interview for you now. All right, Mike Gordinsky, chip leader coming into the today, it seemed like it was pretty easy for you today. Everything kind of went your way. How did it go in your eyes? Yeah, the cards made are kind of easy. I felt like I didn't really need to think about it much, honestly, if the cards just kind of fell in and then um, the sacks got to a point where I was able to maneuver kind of easily. Does the feeling of winning a tournament get old it's been a little while since twenty No, it is great. Definitely, we'll never get old, Mike. You know, obviously we're past the halfway point here. It can be a grind to the World Series. Can you tell me, do you feel relief or something else? In terms of you know, playing through that much of the series and then you know, coming through and winning this race. Yeah, I definitely feel relief. I um, I mean especially this year. I had kind of a rocky starts my summer and um and yeah, Michael, my plan actually was if I didn't cash or go find this tournament, I was gonna fly home for a week and a half to recharge, spence some time with my wife. So yeah, this run was kind of like an unexpected, really cool way to wrap up a otherwise like long, kind of tough month. You reference it. I don't know if you could tell us anymore, if there's any more clarity with what happened at the start of this appellagio. Um So I'm still kind of waiting from a quote unquote official word, but basically, they ran a security process and according to them, I'm the only person that access to it. So compensation at this point is looking unlikely, but I'm hoping to have further conversations with something socks at MGM. So that's yeah, two through bracelets, you win a PPC and another one. Where where does this rank in the war? Um? I think this one would rank second. I you know, the PPC kind of stands alone as a cool career achievement, but yeah, this one was great. It's been in quite a few years, so I feel it's kind of good to, you know, brush to the dust off and do something, do something fun. How tough is it to get through a field like this with so many killers, similar to a PPC where it's just you know, do you leap the whole way? I mean, you had such a tough field to get through, especially in the last couple of days, and you just kind of ran away with it today. Um yeah. I mean basically every ten k plus is a similar kind of field, right where when you get down to it, it's all good players and you've seen to get the right card in maneuver, and yeah, I was just able to do it. I don't know, was there point through yesterday or today where you kind of knew that, you know, you were taking control and it kind of felt like he was coming to you. Uh yeah, like wrapping up last night, it kind of felt like I was getting momentum and I felt pretty confident going into today, and um yeah, obviously today was really fast and I felt pretty comfortable and confident the whole way. Any change in your mentality early in the day when Brad got the chip lead from me early in the day. And then yeah, that first hand was not ideal. Um No, just because everything kind of rolled in right after that. There wasn't any kind of further setback, So yeah, it was pretty pretty easy from that point on. From this point on, Dad rise a little more focused on the Poy movie. No, you know, Sean just grinding so hard for it. But it just it like still feels out of each a spot. Like I know, I'm probably like within you know, first place finish or something, but I just know he's gonna play everything, and like, I don't know, I missed my wife, I missed my dog. Like I want to go home and spend some time at home before I come back out here. Obviously pretty happy to get in the Winter circle. Of course, Tim Furrevanti from the World Pope had to slide in there with the question about his Bellagio box situation. I feel like everyone's kind of forgotten about it. Yes, I had forgotten about so at the beginning of the summer. If you if you guys recall or if you're following um Mike Ardenski on social media, but he tweeted, went to Belagio today. This was on June first, so Smack dab at the start of the w went to Beolagio today to access my box and my key was stuck, Slash not opening. They wind up having to drill it join the box and when they lift the box out, it's empty. Extremely fed up situation. If anyone has any insight on best steps Slash, who to contact from here, please reach out. That was after we had already drafted him in twenty five. Yeah, so this comes out and it's like, oh, here we go. Haven't really heard anything since. Mike Roardinski's not massive on social media. You know, he did tweet some stuff since then. One of the things he did tweet afterwards was, you know, thanks to everyone who reached out to help me with this situation is still ongoing. You know. He tweeted about how he made the horse Final table, but not big on social media. So he was asked about it in that interview and you heard it there, like, it doesn't really sound like he has an answer that is a super positive one. Sounds like he's still kind of waiting to hear officially from the Blagio. But when he says that, according to Blagio, he was the only one to access his box. But then if he's under the impression that there was a lot of money in the box, or money in the box in general, Like, I mean, I don't know, it sounds like a really kind of messed up situation. But I guess good for him that things are able to come around because that happens and start your summer off. Maybe you're not making some deep runs and tournaments, it's all kind of you know, snowballing, but you do rip off the foreigner and twenty two k win in the ten thousand dollar horse Championships. So what would you do if that happened to you? Let's say we had I mean, I have no idea what would happen half your bank rolling there? Yeah, I mean I would I would freak out. I mean, I don't know what I would tell you, Like I would, I'd probably freak out. I'd probably try and like talk to some lawyers or like what can you I mean, I don't know. I feel like this is one of those spots where I mean, the casino has a lot of leverage. Yeah, I mean, how can you prove anything. Are they gonna show you security tapes? Do they even have security tapes from like whenever it was like the last time you went till then? Like what if it's been like six months? I mean Mike Rodonski doesn't live in Las Vegas. I mean what if he hadn't been in Las Vegas since that stuff happened? Or like what if you know, he comes out for like the wind stuff right like that that time in Las Vegas. There's a lot of stuff here. Maybe there's some high stakes cash games. So let's say he comes out in December. This is all I'm just you know, hypothetical situation here. He comes out in December, but it's been six months okay, since he's had money or since he's seen his box. Yeah, so like do they have six months of tapes every single day that they can verify? Know? Like how long is it gonna take to go through that? Like it's all like it's a whole, big, giant WTF and like I have no idea what you do. Honestly, I would freak out. I mean obvious, the last time he was probably in there was February during the Mix game series. But yeah, this is a pretty pretty tough kind of situation for him. But you know, you say he wasn't running that well. Had seven cashes this year in yeah, like you know, but he's had some, He's had some, Like I'm saying, he still had some deep runs. He had you know, seventh in the Dealer's Choice, a tenth in the uh, the one KPL. So he's still putting in the work. And like, if this was me, I think I would have been I would have packed my car up and hit a home. Yeah, I mean, he didn't mention there that he was pretty much about to head home and still might head home to take some time off before he comes back. Um, there are some big tending to leave his money at the I think if that ever happens to you, you're you're gonna be very timid to leave your money at any casino box. I mean, or if you do, you're going to make sure that you do do due diligence ahead of time, Like, Hey, this happened to me before. What happens if this happens at this venue or at Balagio again or whatever, you know, it might be Like I need to want I want to know, like what's going on? The whole thing. It's a shitty situation, you know, and hopefully it gets rectified. I don't know what's going to happen, but maybe, you know, we'll see Mike in a couple weeks or so and we'll fallow up again and see what goes on there. But that was the update on the Blagio situation from Mike Gordonski himself. And congratulations to Mike Gordonsky for winning the ten K Horse Championship because he's on our fantasy's about to say, most importantly down the twenty five K fantasy team. Yeah, so basically twenty five K fantasy. Just as a quick little tangent here right now, HiT's our team and Team Lady Gaga, which is ren Lyn's team, who are battling for the lead. You know, we're kind of going back and forth. We held the lead for a little bit. Ren Lynn's team has been absolutely crushing it, mostly because of Chance Corneth, but they have a lot of high scores on their team, but Chance Cornth is absolutely crushing it for them. And then Alex Livingston believe it was his second final table the summer, and then he comes in second place to Mike Gordinsky. So we're only closed the gap by ten points there, but we'll take it. Okay, long way to go. As I've said, you know, I'm still not feeling very confident. I just want to be able to keep pace with wren Land's team. As much as they are absolutely crushing it, I hope that we can continue to crush it. We met with our captain today, Sean Deeb. We had a talk with him because he was feeling super bummed out about messing up the twenty five kpolo. That's what he said. He missed. He missed the field bonus in the fifty study eight last night by one spot. Finished in nineteenth. Field bonus is eighteen, so that happens. He had a big stack kind of deep in the four hundred all online event last night, as did Stephens Song. They both missed the field bonus in that um. Sean Deeb probably his favorite tournament the summer, if not one of the twenty five kpolo, especially with the numbers. Yeah, he was like, I ran it up the seven hundred K then I just you know, kind of messed up whatever. But he's basically been like effort, you know, I gotta focus tunnel vision, let's go. I think he's gonna win two more bracelets the summer because he is ready to go. Well, you know what's going to motivate him. Player of the Year and his biggest rival right now Iam and Taucas is putting up some points in the Millie Maker, and I think that's what we're gonna talk about next. Hold on, we're gonna talk about the seniors first. Then we're gonna get all well, come on, the seniors was it was incredible. So this one thousand dollars Seniors championship eight thousand, one hundred and eighty entries a record, okay, and it beat the previous record, which was last year by what about a thousand, just about a thousand entries nine nine yeah us um. Lonnie Hallett aka the Avenger is what he wrote down as his nickname, A farmer from Canada, from Alberta, Canada. He wins it all seven hundred and sixty five thousand, seven hundred and third one dollars. Billy Baxter, the Legend, gets second. Dan high Miller, another legend, he gets third. I mean this was and if you guys didn't watch these the past two days of live stream. So remco and I did day four coverage yesterday on the poker Go YouTube channel four free, so that's where you can find that one. We streamed from when they got down to three tables, so the final twenty seven down to the final what six was it six or seven? Seven? Okay? And then today we come back and we finished out the live stream also on the poker Goo YouTube channel from seven down to a winner, that winner of course being Lonnie Hallett. But the play was electric, it was wild. There was a yeah going into it. Listen, you guys need to thank me. The entire production staff needs to thank me. All right, come on, you guys were fighting. You guys were fighting the seniors, and I said, the play is going to be out of control. We have to stream it. The stacks are shallow. These guys do some weird stuff. Okay. We had Dan High Miller is like the weirdest player in poker. Like if the fact that he had a big stack, you gotta put it on stream. And Billy Baxter's in there going for number eight, like it was just the whole thing was just wild. Okay. I was like, we have to stream it. It's gonna be nuts, and it turned out it turned out to be way more nuts than I would have ever expected. There was a hand yesterday on day four between Dan High Miller and Ron Fesh that was the most bananas thing I've ever seen, turn card eight of clubs, Himular's hand getting that much stronger, and if Fesh is willing to call on the flop, the forward pairing there doesn't really change the dynamics of this board. So I expect he's gonna put more money in. I did not expect him to lead, but here we go. Wow. If you're Himuler her, Donny, your only option really is to call righten, Wow, he makes it thirteen million, does fetch thing? He have aces and he's slow playing it. How do you like him Miller's raise here, Donnie. I think he's just trying to, you know, possibly get some value from hands like Jack's. Maybe some tens also deny some equity. He does have that Queen of diamonds in his hand, so a hand like an ace Queen of diamonds is blocked. Oh my god, on him? Is this the craziest hand of the entire summer? Oh my gosh. And Himler has to fade in Ace or a king here on the river, more than fifty million in the pot. Fetch has six outs to bust Dan high Miller and Shannon Fay. He's scratching her head. Let's see the river card. I'm nervous for Dan high Miller. It's a queen Dan High Miller with an enormous double up. Fetch just has like the naked Ace High and it was like a bet and a raise and a reraise. All the whole thing was he just watched the stream because it was wild. There was a bunch of banger hands. There was Oh book, who's coming your boy? There he is, he's he's coming to rail. Mikey there he is. Look at him, Look at him. He's pumped. And Phil Halmuth he's ready. Phil Hallmath is in the building. He is here. Get him on the pot to rail. We're not getting I'm not getting him on the body. He wants to watch his buddy anyway. But Phil Holmeath is here. He has walked in the building. According to Tim, Mike Matiso is down in chips right now. Yeah, but Superman has just walked in the room just like oh look, he walks right up onto the stage. I mean, this guy does not give the camera is on. I can see he looks like he's gonna sit down next to Do you want to play his cards for him? Phil? I mean what, that's probably the best chance. That's his phone. He has his phone in his face right now. Look at him. He's on the in the middle of the stage. He hasn't one yet, Phil. No one is allowed to go up there other than credentialed media tournaments down and of course the player credential media isn't even allowed behind that spot because it gets into cameras. But you know whatever, It's hell. He just reached across the table to give a fist bump to the other player who's playing Mike heads up. He just shrugged Mike Masso's hand to look like Masson Rickie is his opponent. I mean, he gave it a little fist bump because he's like, you know, I know I'm interrupting this whole thing because I'm Phil Halmy, so I'll give you a little fist Yeah. So, I mean, but anyway, back to the seniors, we'll kind of pay attention to what's going on over there. But is he going to just stand inside the rail wall, plays on the rail. He has a banner. When you have a banner hanging in the horseshoe, he can do whatever the rules. Yeah, I mean, yeah you can. I mean he's just do you over that time when I think it was like two thousand and eight World Series and players in the main event all had wristbands and you can only come in I don't remember that you can only come into the to the Amazon room during the main event if you had a wristband. Less insane, right, And I really want to say it was it was Joe Hasham, but I'm pretty sure the security got stopped him. He goes, where's your wristband? He goes, I don't have one, and he goes, I can't let you in. He goes, do you know who I am? I goes no, and I go that's my banner. I'm pointed to his band. I swear this was a Joe Hasham storry, but maybe it's my Australian Joe Hasham. I think is here by the way. I saw something on his Instagram. I think yesterday the day before, I wondered he played twenty five kilo. He loves plo, he loves for a lot, but I don't know. I mean, how do you pass up? You know that that field Phil Henry I think is still on the stage, which is just like I don't even know what's happening over there. I don't at all. I don't know whatever. Let's just kind of pay attention. If anything happened crazy over there, maybe we'll figure some out. Um. So the seniors event, so that hand between Ron Fesh and Dan him Milner was absolute bananas yesterday, So you can find that on the PokerGO social media accounts, you can find it on the live stream from yesterday which is archived on the Pokego YouTube channel. And then today you got another crazy and when it's Lonnie Hallett versus Dan high Miller, I mean shades of Joseph Chong verse Jonathan Duhamel at the WSP main Event Foul Table in twenty ten, when Duhamel and Joe Chong get it all in three handed, as like the two biggest stacks. Duhamel has Chong covered John Raisner sitting there short stacked on the sidelines, just like, what the heck is happening. I'm just gonna make a whole bunch of money millions of dollars in equity because Joe Chong decided to go nuts with a six. Was it a six or a seven? I can't remember one of those same thing. Duhamel's got two queens end of the line for Joe Chong because he's out in third in this event. It was it was I think I think there was like one hundred and like fifty million chips in the pot and Billy Baxter had eighteen million, yeah and nothing. These two just get it all in on a Queen jack four all heart flop with Dan high Miller has ace jack so second pair, but he has the ace of hearts. He has a flush draw um Lonnie Hallett has Queen four for top and bottom pair. It went I think it went raise from Hallett, re raised from high Miller call, then it went bet from high Miller raise all in call, and it's just like what is going on? Billy Baxter looks like he's like in absolute shock sitting on the sidelines because he's gonna get hundreds of thousands of dollars if this, if this hand holds, the hand holds, High Miller's out and Billy Baxter's just like all of a sudden heads up, like out of nowhere. I mean, he had no chips comparative to the other two, and he's just heads up out of nowhere. The whole thing was just out of control. Billy Baxter. Of course, you know I said he had no chips. He wasn't really able to mount to come back. This was Lonnie Hallett's tournament to lose today and a lot of yesterday. He was yesterday for the most of the day. He was on the outer table absolutely crushing it. But then when he got out to the feature table, crushed at some more. Is he the one that won the big the big aces King's hand right? He had was yes here, he had his aces cracked by kings. Then on the next hand he got kings to queens on the very next hand. That's like this whole tournament was out of control. I'm telling you, guys, And and the live streams aren't that long because the play went so fast. I'm telling you if you want to watch some poker, rewatch this stuff because it was absolutely bananas. Of course, Tim had to catch up with the legend Billy Baxter, who was oh so close. Apologies to Lommy hollow to an eighth goal brace well, Lommie hallowed. Afterwards, he kept running around saying like, can you f and believe it? Can you? What the f just happened? Like he couldn't believe it? Yeah, he couldn't believe it. So, but afterwards Tim caught up with Billy Baxter to talk about his running this event, coming close to number eight, all that sort of stuff. His family was nearby watching him get heads up. His third big it's his third biggest ASPI score, No, it's his biggest got it? I mean, yeah, that makes sense. That makes sense because a lot of his pretty much all of his goal bracelets were super or whole right. Yeah, he hasn't won won forever. So and then the fact that he was making a run in this heads up in eight thousand and one hundred. Can I tell you how he sapped before we get in an interview, how he sawted his career. You're ready? First second, first, first, first, six eighth first second second. I mean, that's just wild, all before the nineteen ninety The whole thing is crazy. And one of the things a fun fact about Billy Baxter is that if you are a professional gambler, he is the one who in the eighties won the court case against the US government or whatever to allow a professional gambling to be considered an actual job and like you can do your taxes accordingly and all that sort of stuff. He was he was the one that went to court for that and won that. Yeah, that was Billy Baxter. Everyone has a lot to thank Yeah, of course, so he yeah, he, I mean, he's proud of that as well. So here's the interview with Billy Baxter after his run in the seniors event. Billy, congratulations on second place. Not very often you get three interviews when you finished second, but here we are with you. Yeah, you're right. Second don't rule me much. Usually it doesn't. This is the eleventh time he actually heads up for a wa pretty bracelet. And I want to say, it's probably the first time that your wife here, you had your son here, you had grandkids. Right, that must be a pretty good experience by itself. Well it was. Wouldn't it be a Billy Bax interview without talking a little bit about lowball? And I want to know, what do you love about lowballs so much? But you know what I tell you the truth, there's a reason I never entered the main event of the World Series. I lived here for twenty something years from seventy five. I finally played in ninety seven when when Stewart won the main event, I staked him. But I also finished fourteenth a little bit in that particular main event. My first time I ever played, I finished fourteenth. And the reason I never played was because when I first came here, they were playing five hundred dollars any thousand and two blind, no limit deuced to seven, no cap. Had the dunes which is where the blad Joe is in with the two owners. There was Major Riddle, sid Wyman, the two guys, and they were both in their seventies. And I had never played, and I saw all those old guys over there playing big like that. I mean, they wouldn't to lose a million on a day, and it was the biggest poker game ever. Anyway, to make a long story short, I said, well, Sherla and played with those old guys. I was thirty five then, and so I started playing that. Of course, Dole was in the game, another Hall of Fame of Fred Farris, Bobby Ballwin played with us and me, and then we had Major Riddle and sid and for dessert, we had a guy named Jimmy Shagra who was the biggest drug deal in the United States at the time. He lost about thirty million in the game in about three months. That's how big the game was. And I don't know if you know who Jimmy Charger is, but he's the guy that had the federal judge in Dallas, Texas shot dead on his front porch. And Woody Harrells and the movie stars Daddy was the hit man that they both did Life in President and so we were put that was the poker game most unbelievable thing you ever saw. I mean, like a typical win was a million. This is in nineteen seventy six and seventy seven, And so I started playing that and Dole always wanted to push hold of them, which was for his best game. So I boycotted hold them. I would never even go to the horse shoe. I don't know. I might have won the main eventable a few times maybe if I had. I didn't play for twenty five years when I was at my best. Yeah, but because I didn't want to get it started. Because the guy I'm playing with, the owners of the dunes, why would want to encourage hold them. So I wouldn't even go to the horse Shoe doing the World Series for the main event. I only to go down for the low ball game. Talking about praceles, you two have seven. Your wife mentioned your first one was a stark silver plate. Now I'm wondering. You touched on a little bit about you know, taking some time off and I'll play and hold them. Do you ever look back and think, man if I played more, if I played hold them back in the eighties nineties, maybe I'd have ten fifteen races. Who honest, I don't want ever say that, but I often thought exactly what you said. Other words, I never played. I mean, and that's when I was thirty five in playing my very best, but I wouldn't play the main event. But finally, when the first time I ever played, it was ninety four, now I was fifty something. Yeah, I came in fourteenth then, So who knows what would have happened. It's not easy to win, but you might be right. I might have want to call. I want to get your thoughts on the Hall of Fame. You're inducted with TJ. A few years ago now, when they were doing two. Now they're just putting one a year in. Do you think maybe we need to go back to putting two people in the Hall of Fame each, Yell, you know, if you had more people that were qualified for it, I would say, as it was as if the ones that are really qualified, yeah, they should get in. If it takes putting into who at the time, I'm not against that, but I like to go buy Dolls Old saying, a lot of people sometimes they get put up because they won a few tournaments. Doll always, when people like yourself ask him that same question, he always had the same as they came around, asked him about phil Ivy, and we know he's a great player. They said, this new kid come around and phil Ivey, what do you think about him? Doll And he says, well, they say he's pretty good, he says, but check back with me in twenty years and I we'll see how he passes the test of time. Yeah, so that would be pretty much. You know, there's a different criteria, Dolls. The idea, which I thought was good, was like you played high, you're won, and your last a long time, and so a lot of people that are put up for it never played high and I don't know the rest. Okay, we haven't talked about this yet, but the payouts are for sure whacky. So first place is one point two million, second place is one million. It's one million, two hundred and one thousand for first place, it's one million, three thousand for second place, and then third place is six hundred and fifty thousand. I mean, I don't know where they got these payouts from, but this is whack the magic the magic payouts. Man. Yeah, but like I think I think our guy Sam Cosby like put this into chat GPT and it's spit out amazing, except that everyone just got that money back for the lower pays. Yeah, well we could adjust that. I mean, we can fix that. I mean, but this is just this is this is wackiness. And then if you look at I mean, that's that's the top of the payout ladder board. If you look at the bottom, it's wacky too, because it goes like it's like a jump of like two hundred dollars, then a jump of like three forty, then a jump of like two forty. Like it's like goes, I don't know what's happening. They're down to forty one players. There's a whole crap ton of chips all over the place in this thing. The chip leader Andreas Knep aka Ryo, Yeah, is what he goes by. Nineteen point six million champion Douglas is still in what is this field? The PLO twenty five K got four forty nine, one hundred and forty eight more entries than that no limit hold them one. I mean that is just freaking wild. Comparing it to last year's twenty five kpolo event, same structure. You know, some people were asking me earlier today when we were talking about the numbers, they said, well, was last year also two re entries? Yes, it was, okay, So that's you know, closer to the comparison. Now, the twenty five K Nolan hold them eight hand that we just referenced the one that Isaac Haxton one was only one reentry. Okay, so a little bit different there because those guys likely to fire a couple more rantries in there and at least close the gap, if not surpassed what we saw in the high roller. I can't remember one of those one of those months. It was awesome at the studio. Okay, um, we have the second one is gonna be coming up in October and I think it's October eighteenth through twenty eighth. It's ten events. There will be a twenty five thousand dollars championship bonus, just like there was last time. That was the championship bonus that Lataro Guerra won for he won three events, he had seven hundred and seventy four points, blew everyone else out of the water to become the PLO Series champion. So we're gonna be running it back a lot of fun stuff. Of course, there is the twenty five k PLO Championship event as part of that series. Now, one of the reasons why I think, you know, these PLO tournaments always seem to draw really well, it's just that there's the PLO players. They don't have a lot all year round correctly, you know, like they have obviously, you know a handful of events at the World Series of Poker, Like they just had the ten KPLO Championship, which had a record setting field seven thirty one entries, incredible turn out there. They have this tournament absolutely massive, four and forty nine entries. They still have a fifty k PLO high Roller coming up. I'm guessing that's just gonna be insane, right, I mean it's probably gonna it's probably gonna be a three million dollars first place prize, I mean, isn't it at this right? Yeah, I mean it's gonna be wild. I mean it's gonna be bananas like. And I feel like everyone everyone that was like, you know what, I'm gonna sell to play the twenty five k, I feel like, are now gonna be like, I gotta sell to play the fifty k. Let's they see those numbers stop going out. Yeah, yeah, I think it's absolutely wild, you know, I think it's time that, you know, someone like a World Poker Tour comes out and does a WPT main Tour event as PLO. I think it's idea why the WPT has a good long twenty year history of it's more than twenty year. Oh yes, it is more than twenty. My math is a record of non limit holed in main events. Who cares? I just keep it that way. You can do some fun stuff. Yeah, just added to the series. Doesn't need to be part of the main too. The WPT PLO Championship, that's what needs to happen. Unlike it. It has to be a ten k buying that yes, you likely do it at the win in December as part of that you know, behemoth of a series. Okay, and then that's that's your one every single year. And if it's a ten k, you could probably even make it a fifteen k just because that's another thing about the PLO guys. They like higher buying, like the bigger the better, like that, like these these guys that play like obviously you get a lot of the guys that, like we just mentioned, you know, the Ben Lambs, Dylan Wiseman, Chance Corneth, Sam Silbrol you know, et cetera, et cetera. The fins are all all out all that sort of stuff. You know you're gonna get those guys. But then like the unknowns that are in the field, you can tell are just like high stakes PLO cash game guys you know that come out for like their shot and like a ten k, twenty five K or k or all of them, you know. So that's why I think if you're like a World Poker tour, you look at this and you say, yes, like it's time, let's do it, and they could do I think they could do a ten k, and I think they could probably get three fifty to five hundred runners easy easy, easy, slap a nice fat guarantee on that thing and here we go. But I also think that come pgt PO series who might need a bigger studio because these numbers are absolutely out. I know, it's awesome. So I'm in the sixth seats, so I adjust myself probably two inches to the left because the five seats got to get in and sit down. Yeah, and I Angela Jordanson was in the four seat and she was like, we were kind of close to the five seat because there was no one in the five seats, so we both moved. The guy to my left like a smaller gentleman, not big in it by any means, Like it's like, what are you doing. I'm like, what do you? What do you? I'm like, he's got to sit down, Like he's like make them square up, and he's like pointing to the one in the two seat, and I'm like this guy, mind you. Tim is like sprawled the f out of the table, like he's like leaning over the table elbows out, foot is all. I'm like, dude, if you just sat up straight. You're like half my size. Just sit up straight and we'll be fine. Like, I'm what what it was wrong with these people? Anyway? Event of the day right there, Huh, that's Donnie's event of the day. Well, the guy who took the five seat was beyond tilting. Beyond tilting. And I was like, oh my, can you just feel no. He he like was kind of just talking to himself, like he he wasn't prompted in any of this. Like he knew one guy at the table kind of because they had played before, so he like said hello to him or whatever, and then he would just launch into these things and I'm like, what are you even talking about? And then he would like, you know, somebody would play a hand. He would start commenting on the hand and like this whole thing. I'm like, oh my, leave me alone. Three thousand dollars, lemon hold him? Uh six handed? David Box second and chips. As we talked about, Tommy Coral's over there, still kicking Nick Pepillo, who just want a bracelet? And then I get it all on button versus small on ace jack for me, nines for that guy, the guy who you know was sprawled out all over the table. Obviously there's no justice in the world. He just wins and eliminates me so he can get more space at the table because he wasn't taking any you know exactly the bus. That's just that's how it goes. But big Field over there almost sixteen hundred entries more than six hundred and seventy five thousand dollars for first place. They're getting close to the money. I think it's like two forty two fifty right around there. Something like that got Daniel Lazarus, Matt Burkey, Robert Coon, Robbie Ja Lou probably playing in the Jack four. So they got that they have all those live satellites, those megas that happened here at the World Series of Poker. So I mean, I don't know last okay, the biggest year ever, right, two thousand and six. Yeah, we had eighty seven hundred players. Yeah, first day one this is the first time ever. But Day one A two thousand, one hundred and thirty eight players. Then the next three days it was four flights literally the same number. You know, every other year, there's always a massive difference. So you know, we look at last year when espine Day one A less than nine hundred, Day one D four thousand, three hundred and seventy entrants. Yeah, and I remember, and I remember I played Day one C last year, and I remember a lot of people were they were like warning people ahead of time, like Day one D is gonna sell out, it's gonna be packed, like all this sort of stuff, like you know, you can adjust your starting So a lot of people switched to Day one C because of that, and there was a lot of talk around about people that were planning to play Day one D. They ended up playing Day one C, which I think I think you'll probably see a bit of as well. So it kicks off on July three, So then July fourth would be obviously Independence Day here in the US, so it's when all the Europeans will play. Yeah, so if you're gonna play that day, I just want to know when the Brazilians are going to play. And I don't want to play that flight because the Brazilians are a bunch of animals out here, and they continue to eat me a light every time I sit down, So I would like to avoid the Brazilians as much as possible. I only have starts going back to two thousand and six, and that actually excludes oh seven and the online year. But every year but three day one A has been the smallest, and every year the last flight, whether it's one s or one day, has always been the biggest. So take that data and do what you want with it. You know, maybe that means you want to play one A. Maybe that means you want to play one day. If we're talking about day two entrants, don't have them right currently for last year, but still getting a decent amount of you know, Day one like day two entrant. So yeah, you know, I mean it's gonna be It's gonna be wild, it really is. I mean, I can't imagine it's not a record setter, like I just can't see that happening. And then it's from there, it's you know, how big is it going to be? If one I has, you know, anywhere around twelve hundred, I think it's it's we're gonna be flooding with ten thousand. Yeah, and then I just want to quickly touch on one thing before I ask you my next question. But we did have, jesse Porter wrote in. He asked a question. Oh yes, so, he said. He said, I'm curious what time play usually stops every day. That might be some valuable info for other listeners as well. Tim responded said, if there are no delays, the schedule calls for a twelve fifteen am finished time. But once you add the shuffle up and deal, you know, especially on the day, once you know they'd like to do, like Lisa vander Pomp, or this person or you know that sort of stuff, so they make a big thing of it, understandably so and then the final few hands countdown can take a little bit. So twelve thirty, twelve forty five in that range. Um, I would guess you're for sure out of here by one am, Like that's probably safe, just to say. I mean, there might be some delays here and there that kick things forward, but you know, overall between twelve and one, give or take a little bit, you know, so that's what you should plan for. So, UM, I would say, bring a water bottle for sure. There are like water dispensers jugs around the rooms, so bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated. Probably bring a like a power pack or a charger for your phone, a portable one that you can have. And then bring a sweatshirt because it gets kind of cold in here at times. I know Tim responded to you via email, but you know, we wanted to share that with the people out there. And my next question to you, Tim, it's something we've talked about off the air, but we're gonna bring it on the air. Here is I'm playing the three Kid today Anthony who walks by and he says, so, are you gonna quit if you win? Yeah? I'll start laughing. He's like, what do you mean it's gonna be seven hundred ky for first place? It's six hundred seventy five thousand, you know, so yeah, he was pretty much right. I said, what am I gonna do with that? No? Nothing? That is like no, I mean listen, that's a crap ton of money that isn't quit my job and like go set on a beach money. Yeah, I mean that's like, yeah, I'm gonna pay off my investors, you know what. That's like twenty percent then the other money. So then I sam, then I have eighty percent of myself, of which thirty percent of that is going to taxes. Okay, then like what pay off my house? Like take care of like some bills or like you know, put a new fireplace in the house. I don't fucking know, like stuff like that. And it's like then I have no money back to zero, you know, put some money away for like my kids and like you know, like a money and like their college phone or something I don't know, And the next thing, you know, it's like I got nothing. So like, no, I'm not gonna quit. He's like, yeah, you know, quit and play full time. Listen, Anthony. You're probably not listening, but if you are, there was nothing I would like to do less than play poker full time. I love poker, I absolutely eff and love playing it. I love studying it, but doing it every single day as your job seems like it seems so miserable, and it's like, yeah, stressful, because like part of the reason why I'm able to play poker and have so much faun and not feel so much pressure is because it's not the job. Yeah, it's the side job, you know. Like, yes, I still treat it, you know, very disciplined, and I try to stick to a bankroll and like study a lot and all this sort of stuff that said, like I can still lose and I still know that. Okay, I'm gonna get a paycheck, I'm gonna go to work, and I'm gonna be you know, I have my money coming in. Like yeah, I mean, listen, kudos to Anthony who because he always seems super happy, Like you see a lot of these players and they look so miserable playing every single day, especially now you're getting to that point of the summer when it's like people probably brick thirty five tournaments and they're probably like, what the hell am I doing out here? Type of stuff. Um, Anthony, for whatever reason, he's always seemed to smiling like he and he I don't think he's had a ton of results this summer, so I mean, yeah, so he just is always in good spirits. But I would not be quitting. So but my question is, like what would it take, like what sort of win? And I pretty much settled on I would have to win the dustan event, like not even second place, like no, I'd have to win it to just quit. I mean working first of all, I don't even know well, I mean, he phrases like you quit your current jobs, like you know, would you quit your job? Basically? Like I mean, to be honest, I don't even know if winning the main event, I would quit my job. And the reason is is because if I'm playing the event me currently in my current state, I'm not gonna have a one hundred percent of myself. Even if I were to like win a satellite on club GG. Yeah, but which is like basically free because I pay the fifty dollars a month and do that whole thing, right, Like, even if I did that, I would still sell action into the main event, you know, like I would sell half myself. So let's say I have half myself. First place in the main event is what ten million? We'll go off last year spine, so ten million, I get five? Okay, then what one and a half is going to Texas? So now I got three and a half million. I mean, yeah, that's a lot of money. But like I like my job. Yeah, I like being in poker. I like the community, I like the people. I like what I do. I think that like getting up going to work like gives me a purpose. You know, maybe i'd go more to let me work four days a week instead of five. But other than that, like I might just play a little bit more. But yeah, you could play a little bit more and you're more comfortable when you're playing. But like you start doing things like you pay off your house. You maybe you get a new car, like you do this, you do that with what we finish your pool in the backyard, like you know, stuff like that, and it's like it's like there goes half the way. You know what would be nothing would be more fun than you know, let's say we win the main event this year, one of us, and then down the road and a couple of months Pocka mosses there Anthony who's playing a hand, you know, he bluffs the river and loses to Sam Savrol. You're wearing the main event bracelet and field reporting like doing live reporting. You got to Anthony, guys anything, and I think that was the right play there, and then you just shake your bracelet in front of it. Like doing stuff like that would be kind of fun. Well, I would not be wearing the bracelet problem. But yeah, I'm saying, like I think it would just take a lot to quit my job. You know, I don't know, maybe I'm just being a knit to be honest. I just thought it was an interesting question because I started thinking about it. I remember when I was making that run in the WPT World Championship. Morey texted me and said, if you win or you're gonna quit your job. I was like, no, I mean or. He said, if you finished top three, you're gonna quit your job, And I'm like, I probably wouldn't quit my job if I want, so, yeah, I mean, and that was four million or whatever it was for first place, you know. So, I think the difference is both for you and me, is we like our jobs. Yeah. We like working with each other. I mean I do. I like working with you. Yeah. Yeah, we like what we do. We like our job, and we're also kind of in a way responsible adults where we like the paycheck. We like it. But also like we've also seen how a lot of players who do this every single day, ye are miserable because specific to tournament poker, it can be a grind, it can be brutal with the variants, like you can be playing your best poker in the world and you can just be losing, losing, losing over and over again. On the other side, you can play your worst poker and you can just be winning, winning, winning. You know that That's what variance is, and it it takes a lot out of you, you know, so it's hard. You know, I would probably play a lot more if I had a big score, but I probably wouldn't quit my job as well. You know, it would allow me a little bit more flexibility and stuff. Of course, you know, the vacations would get a little bit nicer that sort of stuff. You know. But you're probably dB I a few more events, yeah, I mean, you'd have more pieces of yourself, you know. Also also like I mean, listen, I have no reason not to be transparent, but like when Anthony asked me that question, like I know, I don't have one hundred percent of myself. I mean I have a good amount, you know, but I don't have a hundred. So and if I played the main event, as I just said, like I'm not gonna have a hundred ever, like I'm just not because it's just not for me. Like the best the the way that I would have the most in the main event is if I like somehow one like some crazy satellite. Yeah yeah. And then but then even then I would like because you can sell, you sell, you take some money, and you would do I would do a lot of swaps because I mean, we know, tournaments especially big ones that go on for basically two weeks. It's like there's a lot you have to get through a lot of obstacles, you have to avoid all that sort of stuff. Crazy stuff can happen. So if you're able to do a bunch of different swaps, you know, you have a bunch more bullets in the chamber type of thing. So anyway, I just wanted to like bring that on the air because we have been kind of talking about it, you know, recently, you know, playing our events and all that sort of stuff. Yeah, it's great to like think, yeah, if I win seven or k I'll quit my job. But then it's like when when you break it down, like it's a lot of money, but it also can go fast, is basically what I'm saying. And I don't want to like take away from the the glory of winning stuff and how much it can do to you to do for you to win all that money and all that sort of stuff. It's all great. I just want to kind of like bring it back to earth type of thing, you know, and kind of think about it rationally. And maybe Tim and I are just being knits, who knows.
