We are four events in. We have six events to go. Event number five is currently running. If you're unaware of what Poker Masters is, you've a been sleeping under a rock and b you can listen to what I'm about to say right now. It is a high stakes tournament series run by Poker G slash the PGT at the Poker G Studio in Las Vegas. This year's event has ten events. They are six ten ks, it's all. They're all nobleman hold them by the way. Six ten ks, three twenty five ks, one fifty k. You accumulate PGT leaderboard points over the course of the series. The player that tops that leaderboard is the official Poker Masters Champion. They win the prestigious purple jacket. They also get a fifty thousand dollars championship bonus. We have one player through the first four events, who I mean Tim? Have you gotten his jacket size? Have you asked mister thomas Owskis what size he is, because he's running away with this thing. It's a small Yeah, we've already ordered it. It's it's on its way. He should be here on Thursday and we'll probably award it early in events seven. Why not so? Vladis thomas Awskis is a Lithuanian player. Has enjoyed some success in poker outside of the PGT as it pertains to our majors inside the studio, but this is really kind of his big breakout on the PGT and especially here in Las Vegas. Inside the studio, he did win I think it was twenty sixteen UKIPT Dublin Main event. He had fourth place in the twenty twenty two US Europe Main event. He's coming off. It's either a four hundred thousand dollars four and fifty thousand dollars score at EPT Barcelona that just wrapped up. Now he's here, he's in Las Vegas. He won event number one, topped a field of one hundred and fourteen injuries to win almost two hundred and forty thousand dollars. Then he finds himself at the final table of event number two, The next day he's finishes sixth. There cashes for fifty eight thousand, two hundred dollars. Then he makes the final table of event number three and guess what he wins that one for two hundred and eight thousand, nine hundred dollars. So first three events, vlaud Is Thomas Houskis a Lithuanian player, wins the first one, six in the second one, wins the third one. He has five hundred and six PGT leaderboard points, which is just about double anyone else on the leaderboard. To put a little context around that point total, last year Seawan Winter won the purple jacket with four hundred and sixty six points. So vlaud Is Thomas ouskis, I mean could probably just go home at this point. I'm not really sure if that's the case, but if he's close, can I give you some breaking news This twenty one player is remaining in event five and the chip leader is they're great. He just had a double elimination of Jonathan Little and Nacho Berbera. He had the kings they held up against the sixes and the a side off on he is chiplading. Twenty one player is remaining thirteen in the money now, the two hundred and four thousand dollars up top for Vladas just to put in his pocket and taking home to Lithuania. I mean, it's absolutely incredible what he's doing. I'm getting the jacket tomorrow. I'm expdiving it Thursdays. It's coming Wednesday. Yeah, I mean, just just cancel the rest of the series. I mean seriously, I mean, this is very similar to what we saw in the first PGTPLO series with Lataro Guerra. Yeah, yeah, came out. You know, if you're in the like the small circle within poker, I mean you talk about poker being a small circle, Well, the circle within the circle is the pg is the PLO circle, and Lataro is certainly within that circle. You know, high stakes polo player. I'm assuming you know a lot of players on the high stakes polo scene know who he is, you know, understand him as a top player. But for like the common poker fan and for you know, someone liked him and I you know, it was the first time that we saw him, Lataro Guerra, and he comes to Vegas, he wins three events, he runs away with the PGTPLO series leaderboard. Every time he cashed in a tournament, he won the thing. So it's great to see, you know, a player come to a stage like the PGT a stage like the Poker gro Studio and have the success that they're having. And you know, we saw it with Latar Guerra and now we're seeing it with a lot of Thomas Auskis. I think it's awesome, you know, new kid on the block who's you know, certainly taking a big swing here playing with the big guns in the game, after having that recent success where he was able to put you know, four hundred, four hundred and fifty kN his pocket at EPT Barcelona. So this is awesome as far as I'm concerned. You know, I hope he continues to be crushing the series. Honestly, I feel like he should just try and start selling for Super High Rollable and get in there, because I mean, this run is just incredible. I mean, actually, no, he should not sell. He's just DBI and when the whole thing, you know, I'm I don't know if he's a gonna just you know, fire and three hundred K. Maybe he will, I don't know, I've seen crazy. After he wins Event five, six, nine, and ten, he'll have enough money. Yeah. I mean at this point, you know, I feel like I almost feel like, you know, kind of everyone that plays in the studio every single day for the program Masters should almost just kind of, you know, pitch in ten k and be like I need a piecu, I need a piece of this hot streak like three three point nine mock up. Yeah, I mean, why not go a little bit more? So? Yeah, I don't I don't know if anyone's gonna be able to catch him, especially if, as Tim just mentioned, you know, we are recording this on Tuesday, September ninth, right around seven at twenty pm, that that Thomas howskis is now the chip leader, approaching the money in event number five. So even just a cash in that event is like what sixteen seventeen points something like that, you know, gonna help him extend that lead once again. And then if he's able to make a final table, heck, he could go on to win the thing again. You know, we've already seen that twice of this series. He could certainly get a third win, which would just be out of this world. Then, I mean, I don't think anyone's gonna catch him, But I mean, right now, it's gonna be tough. You know, there are a handful of other players on the leaderboard who have multiple cashes. Thomas Auskis, of course, as we've talked about, has those three cashes and the two wins. Ren Lynn has two cashes, Darren Elias has two cashes, plus Darren Elias also won an event. Alex Foxton has two cashes, Philip Kavan has two cashes. Been Weighing has two cashes. I think Ryan Reese has three cashes. Actually, the problem with Ryan Reese and those cashes is that he hasn't gotten better than tenth, you know, so he's cashed in three events, but they've been on the smaller side. So good success, but not the best success as as it pertains to the leaderboard. But it's you know, there are some some chances for people able to catch up. Ren Lynn took third place an event number one, the event that Thomas Ouskis won, and then in event number three, another one that Thomas Ouskis won, he beat Ren lyin heads up. So Ren Lynn's been trying to do it. He's just been denied, you know, a few different times. And then you know, I hit on that event number two. That was the one that Thomas Ouskis finished in sixth place in Darren Elias getting his second PGT win inside the studio. He won a USPO event back in March. Here he is winning event number two ten k Nolan Holdam took down two hundred and twenty three thousand dollars. Tim actually spoke with mister Elias afterwards, So we'll play that interview for you guys now and then we'll come on back and we'll talk about the rest of the Poker Masters. Congratulations Darren. Second win here in the shittio this year following big, big trade of the USPI. What's it like to get, you know, a second PGT cop right here in the Punkamauskas feels good. I mean, competing against the best players my favorite place to play. So anytime you get to win at a place like this, it's awesome. Let's talk about this final table. A couple of players you've got a lot of history with, you played a lot with What's it like coming into a final table knowing these players quite well? It's interesting. It helps, and this particular one with the chip distribution and knowing Ben weighing it's kind of with him having the Chipwli like that, he's going to drive the action and pushing a lot of chips in the thoughts, and I was fortunate enough to win a couple of flips against him to put myself in a good position. But he's going to be driving the action when he comes into the Chipoli like that. You know, second on the leaderboard for Pokamasa's but I think most importantly you are about twentieth twenty first place on the PGT leaderboard. You know, a million dollars free role at the end of the year. How important is it, you know, chasing these points as the season starts wrapping up. It's something I look at. I'm not going to build my schedule around it, but certainly something that is a goal. And then to be in the top forty for the years definitely an accomplishment, and I hope I get a chance to playing that free role. All right, That was Darren Elias. I got a question for you, Tim, but I want to hit on the other winner of a vent number four at first, and then it we'll circle back because I kind of want to pair the question together. Vent number four Chino Reem is the winner. There he takes home two hundred and eighteen thousand, four hundred dollars just quickly. Good numbers so far through the first four events or first five events really of Poker Masters. First event one hundred and fourteen entries, next one ninety seven, then eighty seven, then a vent number four gets up to ninety one. Then we're sitting on eighty five here in event number five that's running right now. So Chino rem gets the winner in event number four. Darren Elias got the win in event number two. I want to know from you. I guess this is this is two two questions, okay, One in your mind, are Darren Elias and Chino ream poker Hall of Famers? And then two do you think they'll actually get into the Poker Hall of Fame? I think they are Hall of famous more Darren than China. Will they get in here? And then Chino? Yeah? What? Yeah? WHOA just my opinion. I'm look, China has been an idiot at times with money? Is that why? I mean, like, if you're just talking about the poker I mean, look, it's like it's it's like saying, choose the child you love more. I think you can really do it. So I'm just waiting Darren slightly more than Chino. But will they actually get in the Hall of Fame. No, under the current Hall of Fame conditions. So I'll hit on that part first for my response in terms of like will they actually get in, I lean know for both of them, But what I will say is that I think Chino Reem has a better chance of getting than Darren Elias. And the reason why, the reason why I say that is that the Poker Hall of Fame ten to skew wsop and Chino I think he made the do we made event final table? Okay? And I mean I'm just saying who has you and I for starters? I mean Darren Elias for another one. I mean, you know, so I think that there's that, you know, Darren Elias has obviously had a lot of success in his career, Gino Chino as well. World Poker Tour. Darren Elias gets the nod He's got four titles, she know's got three. But then China one the Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure main Event, which is, yeah, one of the top tournaments in the world. Like, I feel like that kind of gets forgotten about in the World of China. Ream also won Listen in Epic Poker League title. They were just discussing that. I mean, I don't know how it came up, but they were discussing it. When the Epic Poker League first came on the scene, I thought it was like the greatest thing since slic spread. I loved it. I was there with Poker News at the time covering the events. I loved the idea about it. I loved the players that they had coming out there. I like the fact that they had the big buying of twenty k they had that like pro am qualifier thing that like players could qualify in. Like, I like the whole idea about it. You know, really trying to create like a league format, a round poker, you know, kind of similar to what we're doing for the PGT, although I think at this point like we're doing it a lot better. I mean, you know, there was obviously a lot of problems with the Epic Poker League that said, you know, China did win one of the events for for a million bucks, but I mean, I don't know he had the what two thousand and eight main event had that score there, you know, recently finished what was at second place a couple of years ago. A year ago to Elliot Lezra in a ten k PLO eight tournament at the WSP. You know, has had success within the studio, as has you know, Darren Elias now too, Chino m Onea. What was it the heads of showdown? Yeah, we had. So you know, I don't tell you what blow for blow in terms of like you know, you could say, well, Chino won this, and then you could say, I raise you, Darren won this exactly what he won this, you know, so you can go back and forth. But I think these players, you know, probably should be Hall of famers at least, like if I was putting together a poker Hall of Fame, like who would I want in it? Like, I think they could probably be in there. Now. I understand that, you know, the elephant in the rooms as it pertains to Chino as obviously his previous financial problems, right you know that said, I mean, I don't know everything about it, obviously. You know, we're outsiders, we're not inside within those little circles. From all accounts, now, he's kind of cleaned things up and is in the right direction, so you know, does it that stuff always, you know, kind of get forgotten about, you know, I don't really know how that plays overall. I don't think it gets forgotten. Specific to Chino the poker player, I think he has an argument, no, I agree with as poker players, they deserve, you know, to be in the mix, if not to be Okay, I'm not going to say first ballot, but we have seen from the way people have voted in or not voted into the Hall of Fame under the current conditions that you know, some of these things and that they may have done in the past still surrounds them and it will probably forbid them getting voted in. I'm talking from Chino's perspective. So that's why I think Darren actually has a significantly better chance to get in. I just don't think that if we're only putting in one or maybe two people a year, that that I don't think they're going to get in at all, which kind of sucks. So they need to change. They need to change the thing. They need to change the system a little bit, I think, and allow more people in. But that's not really up to us to decide. I don't want to get too far into the into the rabbit hole that is the Poker Hall of Fame. But you know, did just want to bring that up because you know, I certainly think these these players are they're amongst the best tournament players in the game. You know, I think Darren Elias these days doesn't put in the biggest volume, but when he does, you know, come out to play, always seems to be an extremely formidable opponent. You know, somebody who's kind of always there. You know, he has that nickname of the end Boss for a reason. And and then and then Chino Ream, you know, he's I mean I've said it for many years. And then you know, shout out to my twenty five K Fantasy partner Matt Clark. You know, we've also been we've been on the Chino Ream train together where you know, Chino reem kind of like ten K big buying events, like when it when it you know, when it's nut cutting time back against the wall. Like I feel like there are fewer Peo people that I would rather back than Chino Rem in terms of like performing in those events. He just always does it. Like the Big Buying World Poker two events that he's won, that at the Poker League event that I just talked about the Pcamian event, is you know, a really high buying, really tough field tournament, you know, these PGT events that he's winning, you know that sort of stuff, Like he's just like the thing with Chino is like if you can just you need to get him to like just one hundred percent focus, And I feel like he's performs extremely well. You know, I also don't necessarily think that he's like one of these robot solver guys. You know, he's very much a live like field player in a lot of ways, has a personality, is fun to watch, thinks outside of the box, all that sort of stuff. So I guess what I'm getting to that is I think Chino rem is a bit underrated, you know, for all the success that he's had. And I think people these days, you know, they're quick to this point that like, oh, you know, it's still stupid old Chino. Like I'm not gonna kind of celebrate his success on the Felt, but I think the stuff that he has done on the Felt is certainly deserving of recognition. All Right, So I mean, Polgram Masters, what else you got kind of big takeaways here? You're there every single day as am I but sometimes I'm stuck in the commentary booth and I can't necessarily get out there and like see everything that's happening, So like, what are some kind of big picture observations as we approached this halfway. I think the biggest thing, you know, I brought alert toward on the first day, it was just the we're just missing a bunch of people. When I say missing, like where are you? Just the regulars, like the people that are here every day normally playing all the ten k's and then we'll dabble in the twenty fives. They're just not here. Now. I know a lot of them are traveling, they're you know, taking some time off, or they're in you know, they're playing other events down in Australia or in Asia. So look, they all have reasonable excuses, no problems with that, but you know, you slightly touched on some of the early numbers. You know, Event one, one hundred and fourteen entrants just a mammoth field size. Imagine if the twenty odd people that we would expect in these events we're here. I I let me say one thing before people jumped out. I just want to like mammoth field size for us inside the two correct the events, Like, I don't want people saying like, you have one hundred and fourteen entries is not that Yeah, we get it, okay, but we're talking in relation here, so don't go blowing up our text messages. Just let me put that out there for everyone. That's what Tim's talking about here. Yeah, you know, there's if we had those twenty odd players that would normally hear that normal locks in our ten case, we would have struggled to fit them in. So it's a good sign that we're seeing a lot of new faces, a lot of fresh faces, and it helps, you know when people decide, hey, I'm not going to play that at I don't want to keep these numbers high, you know one fourteen, ninety seven, eighty seven, ninety one, eight five. You know, you just look at our most recent big series, which is the USPO that has a very similar schedule. You know, we had two massive opening events with over one hundred entrants, but then it's chopped off, you know, ninety three, seventy seven, eighty eight, sixty two. So it seems to be holding strong. You know, a lot of unique entrants, you know, higher than average, a lot of new faces, and it's good. These The best thing about these new faces, they're in the studio for the first time. They're experience experiencing everything we have to offer, and I feel like, come the next series, we may see them again. The more people that are educated about what you know is on offer here in the studio, from the PGT, from the Aria Poka staff, they're more likely to come back. And that's a good thing for everybody. Yeah, I mean, I've been impressed by the numbers that've been impressed by some of these new faces that we're seeing out there battling, been a little bit unimpressed by some of the people that aren't there. I would say chief among the no shows is has to be Sean Winter for me, cosidering he's the defending Pokermasters Champion, so, but Shwan's also been a guy where I feel like some series he's there from the start, in for the first ten K or whatever it is, that opening event plays the whole thing. Some other times I feel like he doesn't come in for the first until the first twenty five K. So it kind of goes either way with with Shawn Winter. So maybe we're seeing the ladder here, we're gonna see him, you know, kind of skip these ten k's, come in for the twenty five k's, the fifty k and then lead into Super High Rollable, which is next up on the PGT schedule. So it's gonna be interesting. I mean, Justin Bonomo showed up today, so he's out there. I think, you know, once we get to the twenty five k's, maybe we'll start drawing in, you know, Nick Petranngelo, Jason Koh and like those guys as they you know, get a little bit of warming up, I guess you would say before jumping into that Super High Rollable three hundred thousand dollars buying. But overall, I'm like you, you know, I've been happy with the numbers, you know, wish we got some of those regulars in there battling as well to push these numbers even higher. But good things overall for the PGT pushing forward. So yeah, we're missing Phil Helmy too, which I know he often skips a lot of our series, but this year, compared to other years, he's really ranking high on the PT. He came into the Poker Masters series like twelve or thirteenth or something like that. So I'm like Phil like, let's keep pushing for that. That's top forty on the leader wards you can qualify for. He might not even know about that. Pray roll all what the championship is. Come on, he has to. He's in here poker Go ambassador, like somebody talking. Yeah. So yeah, My My biggest takeaway is I listen, I love the laddist Thomas Ouskis thing. I just love when you get kind of new faces in there who are having some success. We've seen it in the past various times, you know, I mentioned most notably Latar Guerre from the PGTPLO series, and now Thomas Houscis is really performing well here. So I think it's very cool to see. We got daily Poker Masters live streams running every single day other than Sundays. We do take Sundays off on the PGT, but now through September twenty sixth you can tune in to a Poker Go and catch a daily live stream and then that's going to lead right into the Super High Roller Bowl. It's the eighth edition of the Super High Rollerbowl. Three straight days of live stream coverage September twenty eight through thirtieth. That is, of course the event that mister Daniel LeGrande one. Last year, danil mgraney, who finished in sixth place in today's event number four final table at the Poker Masters, couldn't get much going lost pretty much every single hand that he played. Tried to run a triple barrel bluff against Jonathan Little, it did not work out. So Daniel is one of those players who he's in the studio every single day. He has a boatload of cashes on the PGT this year. He's one of the highest, you know cashers for the PGT this season, but he's flirting with the bottom of the top forty threshold. I think he came in in like thirty seventh place or something, so something in the thirty somewhere, you know. Picking up that those points from the sixth place finish today does help him move up a little bit, but he's going to need to get to work overall to be able to solidify himself within that top forty. Again. For everyone out there who may not know, we keep the PGT leaderboard all season long PGT qualifying events. If you finished in the money, you earn PGT Leaderboard points. At the end of the season. The top forty on that leaderboard qualify for the PGT Championship million dollars free roll, They will come out to the studio, they will play in that event. Total free roll million dollars. First place is going to be five hundred thousand dollars, and there's going to be some other payouts for the final table. That's the event that if you win one of those dream seats you can get in and play with those players. So we'll see if Daniel can get in. I'm guessing he's gonna get in. I know the players today you were listening in as well while you were out there on the floor. We're talking about like what's going to be the threshold to get in, and it seems like the players Alex Fox and Dan mcgarni and some others kind of think twelve hundred points is where you need to be. So so Daniels gonna need to get to work, as are plenty of others who are on the tenth and No Wins says, yeah, it's kind of insane. Not only is it No Wins, I mean, I bet if you looked at those cashes, he doesn't have a lot of final tables, Like this is a lot of like min cashing stuff. I mean he had that. I remember he had a second place finish in the PGTPLO series, but it was a second place finish in a five K bounty. He didn't he have a right runner up finish in the PAILO series. Yeah, I thought it was the colleague. He had a third in the Mixed Games deal is choice, a fifth, a second to Alan Shan and the Palo bounty. So he's got a second, two thirds and some fourth fifth sixes and a bunch of main cashes. He's more foul tables than than I expected. Didn't do too well at the World Series of Poker overall, you know which kind of hurts, you know, when you're when you're not putting up some some big numbers there. But you know, there's a lot of stuff to go. We still have this program Masters. We have super high Rollable, as we mentioned, also coming up in October PGT Mixed Games PGT PLO series the first ever Super high Rollable ploy which we will which we will be live streaming on poker Go. I believe the second second two days of that tournament, the players are thinking seventy entries for that one that's what they were talking about today, because it is because it's unlike, so a couple things that are different than the regular super higher rollable, regular super high rollable three hundred K buying, noleman hold them and it's a freeze out, correct. Yeah, And then the PLO one is one hundred K buying and there are re entries one entry, and we know, oh yeah, and we know these PLO guys yea love to blast it off. So I don't know, it sounds like I think it was Daniel. Maybe some others were thinking, you know, seventy seventy five entries and that thing, so that could be a really big one, a really fun one. It's our first time ever doing it, so you know, the players like really kind of pushed for it, so they better show up, that's for sure. I mean, I think seventy would be an incredible number. And if it's anything like we saw from the first PGT PLO series, I mean, the appetite for PLO right now is at an all time high. And then later on in the seasonly Europe stuff, so there's some stuff there that counts towards the PGT. So there's some stuff on the WSP Paradise schedule that counts towards PGT. We have the Last Chance Series that takes place in January, right before the PGT Championships. So a lot of stuff going on on the Poker Grow Tour overall, and still a lot of stuff to come from the Poker Masters. I don't have anything else unless you do. No, great, sweet, we can get out of here. You can. You can go home. Thanks go home as well. And uh yeah, I don't know when we'll be back. Maybe in a couple of days. We're definitely gonna try and have to get Thomas Awskis on at some point. Should we get him after he wins a vent five or seven, maybe just wait till a V ten just six trophies to his name. Supposedly he's a podcast those I haven't found it yet, so we need to. We need to ask him about that too. I've tried to look for it. I can't find anything. You've tried to look, you can't find anything. I know others that have tried to look and can't find it anything. So have yet to find it anywhere. But you know, we'll ask him about that. We'll talk to him. He is Lithuanian, but he's you know, very well spoken in English as many Lithuanians are, so expect to hear from Thomas Ouskis pretty soon. Did you did you check YouTube? Because I found something on YouTube. I found something on YouTube, but it looked like it was at least the thing that I found looked like it was like somebody interviewing him. No, he has a channel on YouTube. It's got one point one that like eleven hundred subscribers. He's only gonna hold on. He's only got like thirteen videos, but they look more like vlogs. Last one was eight months ago. So but early in the channel, we've logging from this the Poker Mass. Early in the channel he has some like hour long ninety minute long. It's very obvious that it's a video podcast, like he's interviewing. So he's interviewing people. It's in I can't read the title. I don't understand it, so maybe that's what he means.
